INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

We were in serious drought here several years ago. The restaurants could only bring water on request. Car washing is limited as to how and when, where pools have their own restrictions. Lawn watering is still restricted. We actually had water police who whole drive around checking for sprinklers going. Fountains can be restricted.
All of this is still in place, guess for ever. You get used to it. I use reclaimed water on my lawn.
Ok SAS, just call me weather girl!!

ROAD TRIP!
We can put Blondie in the little back seat, but Chevy is going in the trunk......
-
HEY!!! What about us over this way????? And Phyllo????
-
theirs a fairly new thread that is outrageously politically incorrect. Just great! Strongly recommend taking a look. "Stupid comments".....started by Raidergirl. RG has a great zinging wit......I can t link because I'm on kindle....look at all topics
-
I'm reading it. Good thread, unfortunately too true.
She's not far from you, we should do lunch?

This is the link for "stupid comments".
Sassy, it's dry rot. It worse than what the picture shows. But he'll get it fixed. We are thinking about taking out most of the lawn. Considering we're on a corner lot, we don't have a lot of grass. I'm more worried about keeping the trees.
I stopped by my moms this afternoon. She's doing a little better, doesn't sound like she's been crying all day, like earlier. It will just take some time. Thanks for your thoughts.
Oh yeah, lover and I are meeting for lunch tomorrow. Yeah! First BCO sister that I'llmet

Smarrty ROTFLOL, First read my mind interpreted clandestine lover.
-
Spookie, Yes good idea ...... maybe she would be up to a sleepover pool party?
-
LOL Finally figured it out. Ms. SAS, no funny business here. Don't be spreading rumor. So glad we have edit button.
-
Spookie- we will swing down and get you guys. I am going to need to trade in the convertible for a winnebago though.....
A stupid comments thread is perfect. Two years down the road and I still get some stupid coming my way.....

Have a nice Mother's Day weekend. We put our 17 year old dogs' cookie on the oriental rug and she looked up us through her milky eyes ... she couldn't find it on the rug pattern. We had to give it to her in her mouth. Sucks getting old, she can't see and she can't hear either.
Enjoy Mother's Day ya'll.

I was asked to repost this here:
Great empathy cards from someone who gets it!!!!
http://info.emilymcdowell.com/empathy-cards-for-se...

-
Heard about her on NPR today
-
I heard on the news that someone has come out with "empathy cards" to send to people for whom "get well quick" doesn't apply. One said "Let me be the first person to deck the next person who says everything happens for a reason". I'm not sure the word was deck, but meant the same. The person who came up with the idea had lymphoma. She said she's gotten 5,000 orders and people are sending her ideas for her next batch.
While I was typing, Debic posted a photo.
-
I love that card! Order me a dozen please!
-
a year ago, this time, a friend was dx. Her 3 DD are the same ages as my 2 kiddos. She was shocked, as we all were, to be dx & stage 3. . I sent her a card, told her she had my permission to tell the first person, that said "just stay positive" to "F" off. She & her family loved it ! Tell it like it is. I could be much more direct, witty, snarky now. When I was dx, 20 months ago, I was in such distress, I could barely converse about my situation. My DH & kids were my rock, still are. Now, I have lines, comebacks, ready to take on a fool. Sadly, all the curious, have moved on. I had many folks last summer ask, "did they get it all, how long do you have" ?ah, not sure, no crystal ball.
-
No, I ain't riding in no damn trunk! Wouldn't it just be a kick if we COULD all meet somewhere, where there are no authorities, and a long beach, and just bring picnics and sing and dance and raise all kinds of hell?
We would all have tents, and sleeping bags, and yes, bring your pets, and it would be MAHvelous!
Have you guys seen this?
-
Deb, thanks! I went to that web-site and looked at all those appropriate cards, Ha! I LOVE stuff like that.
-
SAS - love that thread. Very funny
Ok I am getting my bag packed for the road trip. Think I am just packing bikinis. Hope we go somewhere warm jazzy.
Hootie hoo
-
Smarty - thanks for the link
-
I'm getting my tent together for our camping trip, Chevy. What do you think?

Frankly, I think it would be infinitely more fun than camping out in this hospital room recliner looking after my sick hubby.
-
-
MAGS!!!!!!!!!!! Haaaaaaaaah! I LOVE that tent! One time when the girls were little, we drove up in the mountains to Delaney Buttes near Waldon...
Stayed overnight... but such a WIND-STORM the next morning! I was holding Janie, when she was about 2 in my arms in the tent, sitting on a cot, and the wind blew the tent over, and I sat there holding it up with my head! I was soooooooo scared! The day before I washed the dishes in the lake!
Oh man, I wouldn't do it again.... Well, MAYbe I would.... those were great memories...
After THAT trip we splurged to stay in cabins.....
-
Oh Mag!! I was thinking about you, Goats, and MommyZombie. Hope DH get to go home soon. Has his symptoms improved? Hopefully, it's just acute inflammation of the liver(saw your other post after reading the above Will pray for you both.
-
Ms. Chevy, love the video. Amazing!!
-
-
Hahahaha. Very true.Still love camping.
-
Nope, not me. Been there, done that, waaaaay too many times. A nice hotel, comfy beds, a/c, restaurants, now we're talking!!!!!
-
AND a toilet and a shower!
-
Thanks Debic appreciate it, my computers in the shop. Kindle May be able to cut and paste, but beyond me.

Party yes......
House clean and sweet Di was here today. Small joys of life. Now perhaps another pain pill. Funny how the pill made me work like I was normal. Now I know the truth....ain't even close.
It's MombieZombie' s kids that are the artists.
