Loveroflife- thank you so much for the good wishes. I did in fact drive over to the other side of town with the top down to meet my guy friends for dinner. We had SUCH a good time and were there for close to 4 hours chit chatting! I could not believe it when I looked at my watch. Male friends are fun to talk about different things with, like sports cars (which I love.....)

That car pic is cute! My convertible is a sort of champagne color.

It was starting to rain again and now I have t-storms here at the house. More rain coming it seems......

Rose, I misread your post. I thought you were looking for a 20x20 album, so I asked my friend if it's available in that size. I was going to inform you that the largest she has seen is 12x12, but then I saw your edited post. She usually gets her materials at Joann or Hobby Lobby.

Jazzy, I love thunderstorm only when I am inside of course. I used to live in Louisiana where thunderstorm is not uncommon. We don't get very many here in the Northern Central valley. Glad to hear you had a blast with your male friends

Jazzy, have you ever tried quilting a plain scrapbook? I have covered plain albums with material, batting underneath, and lace around the edges... You know, like put the book inside a "pocket"... And then you can close it with stitching a pretty ribbon in place.

I made both girls one, and then put their old pictures, from when they were born, their school years, and growing up... in them. That's when we didn't have the cute little scrap-book fixin's..... But I cut out cute pictures and poems from magazines...

I kept one of my Mom's old dresses, with a picture of her wearing it.... and made a scrap-book cover, with all of their memories and pictures in it... You can cut out a place to add a picture under stiff clear plastic for the front....

I would go NUTS in those craft stores, if I were doing it now, Ha! This was before they even HAD craft stores....

Lover of life - a priveledge indeed I agree

Rosevalley - scrapbooking for the kids That's awesome. Wish I was that motivated

Chevy - a scrapbook with material from your moms dress with pictures has to be the sweetest thing ive ever heard of. Wish I still had something like that from my mom. Any new news on cami ?

Cami - if you are lurking : hello and hugs. You are missed

Jazzy - is the rain ever going to stop so you can go top down in your convertible ? Top down ( cars not yours unless Chevy goes with ya ) and radio up. Sounds like fun.

Another great day for me. Feeling good is awesome !!!

Patty- I did ride with the top down last night. I have to go help a friend today who has a fracture in her ankle and boot on, so I won't take the convertible as it will be too hard for her to get in and out of (low to the ground). I have all kinds of plans to ride around in it this weekend. The weather man says it is going to cool down this weekend though to the 50s and 60s. Top down and fleece on!

jazzy. - that sounds like a ton of fun. Swing by Arkansas and pick me up. Instead of Thelma and Louise will be jazzy-peppermint. Actually sounds like a winner to me. Will ride top down with the radio up ( no rap please ) , whistling and hollering at the construction workers, getting a great suntan , laughing and snacking. I don't drink anymore so I'll drive if you wanna a margarita or corona with lime. We can map out where all our bco sis live and swing by for a visit. How cool would that be ? I would love to spend some real face time with many dear ladies on here.

Anybody else up for a road trip !!!

Yes Blondie def you are on list ! We can take you to walmart but you won't fit much in the convertible. Lol.

Oh no Jazzy.... sorry! I meant Rosie.... Sheesh....! And thanks Peppermint.... I LOVE doing things like that.... like those quilts made out of pictures I made for the boys.... I'm love being "crafty" but I canNOT draw ANYthing! I have no talent where it counts.... Some people can sit down and draw ANYthing....! Not me....

Someone on here has a Son who can draw things.... can't remember who it is!

    Hi Ladies,

I'm just venting. I was in the grocery store on line and came across a picture of Angelina Jolie smoking a cigarette. I don't know why it made me so aggravated. She's gone to such lengths to prevent breast and ovarian cancer but yet she's not worried about her lungs. I know she has family history with breast/ovary cancer, but come on!!!

    Road Trip? Count me in.

Let's swing over to S. Calif., pick up 2nd & head to the beach. Fresh fish tacos, chips & gaucolmole. Bon fire in the sand, lots of chatter & giggles. That's my idea of fun.

Softness, I have no clue, but lots of times those photos are photo shopped to look real.

My good friend wants to do a trip together, we both turn 60 this year. She smokes, a lot. I can handle it for a day or two, but then all that smoke makes me sick.

    @ softness1

Angelina Jolie smoking a cigarette! I find this over crazy (considering, as you said, the noise that she has been making about taking all the necessary precautions to "prevent" breast cancer).

Just does not make any sense at all.

I quit in 1964.... Only because it hurt when I would inhale.... Probably the best thing I ever did.... It would have killed me! I even smoked when I was pregnant with my 2 girls, but then we became a lot smarter....

My SIL still smokes, but won't in our house....I remember when I quit, how bad everyone's clothes smelled... Her Father passed away from lung-cancer, and she quit for a few months.... AND before that, our Father-in-law also died of lung cancer.... and she quit at that time too! But must think it can't possibly hurt her.... Her teeth are now yellow, along with her skin.... but you can't say anything.... If EYE could quit, ANYone could quit..... IF they really wanted to.....

Famous Anti Smoking Quotes From cigarette... funny anti

Okay, now I'm done.... Ha! If I could save just ONE person's life, and have them quit smoking now, because I cared about them..... I would be a guardian angel.....

I am with you on the smoking. My Mother and Brother smoke like a 4 alarm house fire... non stop. It gives me a head ache and almost makes me queasy. I can stay at their home for just a day or two then I have to get out.. Everything in my suitcase then smells of smoke, clothes etc. When my Mom would send us toys for the kids we would have to put them in the dryer with a smelly drier sheet to get out the cigarette smell. Amazing neither of them have gotten lung cancer at 75 and 54. I used to smoke back in 1989. Quit and now can't stand it.

I would love to go on a road trip to CA, get fresh fish tacos and quacamole tomatoes and cheese... oy! Sit by the ocean and suck in the salty air. Maybe we could put together a caravan... modern day Gypsies on the move. We used to own an old Westfalia VW campervan pop-top - boy that was fun. But when we adopted the last kid- 3 kids, 3 dogs and 2 adults.. too many bodies. We sold it. I thought my DH would cry. He loved that thing. Gotta say very fun on the road.. hard going up hill.. gerbils need lots of time to get going! VW should bring back the old time camper vans - they would sell a million! Fools to have phased them out. They were small compact and a blast to use, could go anywhere and way cheaper to run then these behemouth RVs. Have a great day, gorgeous here.

Yes Spookie! You little brat! It IS supposed to snow..... when? When did you say? I heard that too.... Damn! Right now it is either showering, or the sun is shining.... been like this for 2 days.... More coming.... and yes snow. I have my tomato plants covered, and some of the sprouts that have come up.

I JUST GOT MY ROSE BUSH!!! But I think I'll just keep it on our covered front porch, and plant it when it ISN'T supposed to get down to FREEZING!

We went to Sprouts.... Got 2 packs of big strawberries, and 1 pack of raspberries... AND some dark chocolate covered Walnuts! You know.... necessary things....

I love Tostada's..! Just with hot refried beans on a tostada shell, with diced tomatoes, scallions, and that slaw mix, with shredded cheddar cheese, and Ranch dressing drizzled on top..... No meat.... so I think they are good for you.... Ha!

I watch the Weather channel, especially all summer. There is a possible hurricane brewing off South Carolina now. You get snow, I get 90, they get wind and rain.

it rained here earlier, like 3 rd time this year. Not much but did put snow in the mountains. This is what DH sends me yesterday. He's found his summer project. I knew it was getting bad, but not this bad. This is on the patio and that's the bay window in the living room. Going to take him a week or two to get it fixed and repainted. We added the bay and patio about 20 years ago. He should have checked it sooner.

Yesterday wasn't good. I had to take my moms 13 yr old boxer to the vet and have her put to sleep. She started having seizures on Saturday, then again yesterday. Moms very upset. It's a good thing she's got another dog with her. My sister doesn't know yet so that won't be any fun. I'm sure she'll yell at me. Oh well, can't be fixed.

Getting some sewing done today. I'll be home tomorrow. Hope everybody is doing good.

Ps. If you're coming out to CA, do it soon. You hear were running out of water

Smarty..... sorry girl.... A lot going on with you..... But think of you helping out your Mom's dog.... I had to do it with my folks little dog.... After Dad passed, their old dog was grieving, and hardly able to walk anymore.... I was going back to Denver... I had lost "everyone'''' First my Mom, and then my Dad.... But Sheri and my Brother took him up to the vets, and I stayed back with my other Daughter and just sobbed until they got back home.... It was all we could do.... Everyone was broken hearted.....

When I look back on it now, that whole year was the hardest of my life.... Your Mom will soon be alright.... just help her out with that....Your Sister will be okay.... You still have your Mom.....

I' m packing my bag. Swing by. I travel light. Spencer holds allot.

Smarrty, sorry about the furbaby :( it's always hard........oh hate those termites or dry rot. Just when you think things are okay, something new happens.

Spookie, I finally listened to the weather lol. Keep me advised this season. I listen to you more than the news. Thanks!

Welcome newbies.......Keep yakking and we will start paying attention. It' like kicking in a door around here........Btw we go around the clock.

I think it was Beachies kids that did the artistic things. But somehow that's not right. One child a girl about 17 did beautiful drawing and the son did origami. He was about 11-13. She also had a daughter about six? Remember the origami story about the bird that had it's head coming out it's butt? Who was that?

Smaarty, If CA runs out of water, we'll know what to bring as a gift. Seriously, I just hate the people that are paying huge fines so they can put someone else's drinking water on their lawn.
