I have zometta monthly so things maybe different for me. I did have side effects the first two infusions but the third infusion no side effects. Also my mo said to take about 3 tums a day for threr days before infusion to reduce side effects.
I have more good news to share. I had brain mri last week and meet with radiation oncologist Tuesday. I got the report and some stuff I dont understand. But it did say no evidence of mets Yay.

I am loving reading all the good news here!! I had a scan yesterday. I was supposed to wait until June but my blood markers were up, the doctor felt a new lump, and I am having back pain so they decided to get on it. I'm definitely nervous because if it is a progression, it will be my first experience with that. I know it's inevitable at some point but it's still nerve racking as you all know.
The doctor said to call him tomorrow for the results. It is going to be a LOOOONNNNNGGGG night.
-
loving all the good news. Resman hang in there. Praying for good results.
I won't known results till I see onc Tuesday when I go for taxol. She is old school. Doesn't call if appt is in near future. I am actually ok with that. Scans to me are just more info and they are what they are. I hope for a good scan as I would like my tx dialed down a bit.

ladies,
I'm so happy for those with good scans but remember, good or not so much, the comfort and support of the waiting room is here for all
-
love the squirel and happy news. best of luck to rseman

I had tx today and spoke to MO(actually the nurse) about the PET scan, at first I got so nervous because it states widespread, I said what?ย It turns out that widespread is referring to the healing lesions (heart attack avoided).ย As for widespread, I probably had 4 bone mets tops when things were on the down swing, so 3 are healing and one is still active and the SUV on it has dropped again.ย So the summary isย STABLE but I have continued to have slow improvement since my July scan (which showed anย SUV of 7.4 for the active one which is now at 3.8). So it's good news.
Hoping for good news for everyone this time or in the near future.ย

musiclover,
Nice, and glad you avoided the heart attack
-
Caryn, Thank you!
-
MusicLover, I so very happy for you and how wonderful to get such a good report. I hope you do something to celebrate, whether it be big or small, because stable is a very, very nice place to be.
-
MusicLover, doing a happy dance for you! Stable is good and any improvement is great news! Sounds like things are on the up swing now and hoping they continue that way.ย
-
PET scan showed the bone mets but no soft tissue mets, so I'm relieved. There are nodes on my lungs but they are the same nodes from 3 years ago and I even asked the oncologist are they 4 and 5 mm? And she looked down and said "yes," So those are just lung damage. Now to fight these bone mets!
-
Musiclover, Only 1 active met left?!ย So happy for your good news.ย
3-16-11, Hope you are celebrating tonight!ย Seeing that no mets comment on your brain mri must be a huge relief!ย ย I had one last year and when we got the good news DH was so overjoyed he jumped up and hugged my mo!ย ย She is a tiny little Thai ladyย and DH is a fairly big guy, so she was a bit taken aback for a minute there.
Rseman, I hope your worries prove to be unjustified and you got a good report today too.
Diana, wishing you the best news tomorrow and hope you can change to easier tx soon.
I'll be getting my PET results tomorrow.ย Have been feeling pretty good, so not too worried, but who knows?ย ย My sister dropped a bomb on me this afternoon regarding care for my 93 year old mom, so at least I will have more than just the scan to worry about while I lay awake tonight.ย Variety is the spice of life, right?
cjanet, your post beat mine, so just editing this to congratulate you on your good news too.ย Hope your tx does a number on those bone mets!
-
ugh I called the MO at 9:30 am for results and they said he would call me. At 4pm I called again and told the same thing. I never heard from him today! And he was the one who insisted I call to find out.
I'm just holding on to the idea that if it was anything really bad he would have called by now. So maybe no news is good news? Kinda frustrated and so exhausted from the anxiety of it.
They keep telling me this will get easier. I'm looking forward to that.
So happy to hear about the good news MusicLover. Good luck to everyone getting scans and results tomorrow
-
rseman,
So sorry you have to wait yet another day. For me, waiting for results is the worst part and it has never gotten any easier. I do hope that no news really is good news
-
Rseman, that is awful!ย I know our docs are busy and all that, but that is just inexcusable.
-
I have to go in fpr scans on the 6th for my leg as my right leg has been hurting me so bad and its right in the crease where your leg bone runs into your pelvis .I don't really know how to explain itย so mo wants me to stay off of it as much as possible until I get my scans .my markers are going down which is good but it just scares me what it could be . good luck to allย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย love chris

Great news MusicLover and cjanet! So good to be stable! Happy dancing for you!
Rseman - that kind of wait is inexcusable! I hope you give him an earful when he finally calls. Fingers crossed for you.
Diana and jobur - Waiting here with you and hoping you get good results.
Chris - sorry to hear you are having pain. I hope you get answers soon.
To anyone I missed - hang in there and don't forget to breathe! Well, except during the scans...then "hold your breath".
-
WOW Musiclover - that's awesome!ย And to you to cjanet!ย Enjoy your squirrel!Rseman - hope you get good news today.ย Waiting is certainly the hardest.
Chris - it seems a long time waiting until the 6thย while being inย so much pain.
Wishing the best to all in the waiting room.
Linda

Thank you all! and I am looking forward to hear your good news today for anyone receiving results today.
-
happy for all with good news. ๐๐
My scan results.
1. Good news is taxol resolved kidney issues. Kidneys have damage from last July dump but are functioning well. 95 % which is better then 25% last July.๐
2. Bad news. Liver profession on taxol. My initial lesion that shrunk in Jan 2015 is now 2.1. Was 1.4 januAry. Additionally a new lesion .6. ๐ liver blood work is super normal. ๐
3 going to have biopsy of liver ASAP and depending on biopsy onc will decide chemo. But I am off the taxol. It worked great for me. Now time to hit cAncer with something new ๐๐๐
I am grateful the taxol saved my kidneys. Sad I have progression in liver. I can keep doing the ๐๐๐ until I can't anymore.
Sigh. ๐
-
Diana,ย Happy for your good news! and hoping that things get better with your liver.
-
Same here Diana.ยHugs - Linda
-
To all of you with good news - YAAAAY!!!
Chris - I had that pain for a long time and it turned out to be bursitis - located on the outside of the hip but pain was felt in groin area instead - hope this helps even a little bit.
-
Chris - Sorry I missed your post and I do hope that your pain decreases very soon and I hope that the scan finds nothing major.ย It's great that your tm's are going down!
