Chevy- I used to be a big party girl in my 20's and 30's. My friends used to say to me "we love when you visit, but our livers are glad when you go home." OIY! Those days are over though. Occaisonal beer or glass of wine. We know alchohol is not our friend in the post bc world.

    Ducky- happy birthday!

    Cami- hey! Headphones

Blondie- hope you are doing well tonight

Footprints- keeping you in my prayers always

Hoping everyone had a good day!

What I learned in the last few days on this thread:

The word chit. Ok Ms. Chevy, you can't come here andwash my mouth with soap because I did not say it...only typed it. Could not figure out what PITA means until today.

Ms. Sass likes to collect glasses and crystals besides shopping.

2nd is of few words just like Patty and Ms. Blondie, except she enjoys posting silly pictures to make others laugh or feel good.

    Jazzy loves jazz and prays.

Mommy is also of few words and she loves her Princess more than her Jackson because she talks more about Princess.

Susan and Rose have dysfunctional family members just like me.

Ms. Teka is almost like 2nd...popping in here and there with pictures and words.

Ms. Spookie can be mischievous also just like Ms. Chevy but in a more subtle way.

Ms. Smaarty loves to quilt and lives somewhere near me.

Hi1 has to move soon...so stressful.

Goats lives in a rural area somewhere in Texas.

I know I am missing somebody. Forgive me. Oh I remember now. I am glad you ladies found Cami.

Jen and Phyllis lost their gallbladders to science just like I did

Mag just got a haircut and new avatar picture

MammaRay needs to be out and enjoy the sunlight caressing her face.

The word sorry is not to be used nonchalantly and when I do use it, it needs to be from the heart. What I also learn is that I don't really know how to comfort those whose shoes I have not walked in. I can only listen and try to understand what the person is going through. BUT, I don't like it when I can't offer any wisdom or say anything to comfort a hurting sister or to lessen her pain.

Allergy season has begun. It hurts to sneeze or cough when you have an overfilled expander. Zowchie!!!

    Edit to add

    loveroflife,

I am impressed. You have nailed it, to be honest, I have to go back & read. I am behind, and I do not know about Susan & Roses family dysfunction. My SIL told me yesterday, that her hubby, my BIL, did not know that my DB, had no teeth. You read it correctly, no teeth.

Seriously, don't we all have some family dysfunction? It is universal.

Sorry you popped in when I am grumpy with moving chit. Much better though, I am not in total Cancer driven stress mode. I should be, but I am taking a break from panicville. My RO told me last week, no worries about Cancer returning in your Breast. Much more likely in your bones or soft tissue..... Cool, now I can relax...

Loveroflife (has Chevy abbreviated that to LoL yet?), guess that's pretty true for me lately.

Started to fall asleep around 1:30,made the mistake of turning on the iPad to check FB. Best mistake in a long time, DD just posted she got accepted to the nursing program of one of the two universities she really wanted (Cal State LA). She applied to around 20 programs, happy she got this. Sad I have to find out that way, oh well, at least I found out. Now I'm wide awake.

    Dutchy, I can relate

Woke up to being a pillow for Jackson. Of all the dogs in the world, he's the best. Not long after I woke up and was contemplating getting up, the insanity insued because his "sister" came in and decided it was play time! He enjoys playing with his baby sis!

OH WOW LOVERLY! YOU NAILED US ALL! Dang girl, that was GOOD! Haaaaaaaaaaahhaa!

Man, it's hard for me to remember all of us and what we Do...! "Goats lives in a rural area somewhere in Texas".............. Can you hear me laughing? You forgot to say "she has goats".... would you please correct that? (I mean she actually does!)

And "Mommy loves Princess more than her Jackson".... Oh man, your whole post was hysterical! And you conveniently forgot to say I pole-dance and feed chickens.... You left out half my LIFE!

I printed it off.... so I could remember who we all are!

Okay now SAVE that, and add onto it every once in awhile.... or whatever I just said....

I love to wake up and laugh....! Did any of you watch that Bruce Jenner thing last night? I refused! Here I thought he was the only normal one in that whole fam damily, and come to find out, he is screwed up even more than the REST of them!

I mean gay is gay, so who cares, but to be this world re-known super hero of an athlete, and then get mixed up with THEM, and having lots of kids, and then saying .... "oooops, sorry, just kidding.... I really am a girl".....

Oh MAN! Gives us all a bad name.... And then to go through all that crap just to be like a girl????? Am I just old, or WTH???

And the Stuff those stupid women DO on there, WITH their family, is just outrageous and over the line of decency.... I mean I'm not a prude, but those people make me look like a Saint! Me and Cammi!

Oh, okay.... HiHo's Brother has no teeth... was it him? Probably never came in after he was born.... And your Doc told you THAT? Is HE on drugs? Just a little ray of sunshine that guy!

Oh.... Dutchess the organizer is up... oh wait, no she isn't...

2222222222 ! Okay, we need to get Daughter and spank her.... She will learn, but not before it breaks your heart.... DD's Son is doing this to her for the time being.... They BOTH need a spanking....

222222222222... ! Hah! LOL.... that's a good one! I just call her Loverly.! Go back to bed.

I kept trying to call Theresa last night...(my older neighbor , whoisinassistedliving) .... SHE WASN'T THERE!!!! I just knew....

Finally Judy, her DIL called me and said Eddy won't be with us much longer. They took Theresa over to the Care Center, to say good-by... Man, I just get chills.... I KNOW he is old.... I KNOW we all have to go, but losing someone, no matter how old just hurts... I hurt FOR her....

I just wish we could get a shot... someone could give you a shot, to end your life when there is just no hope... like we can do with our pets....

She is 91, and to hear her crying ...... I just hope Judy calls, and it won't be Theresa.....

Organizing might not be the right word. Sorting might better describe it. I have the tools sorted into show boxes right now. I went to bed at 3 am and up at 7am. Wth? I'm having lunch worth my daughters today and a birthday party for my 3 y/o nephew tomorrow.

Hangovers. Yup I can get a hangover on anything, a little or allot. I never had a hangover on MJ.

Rosie glad you like Caprice Cambridge. It is just a very happy pattern.

Smarrty, if you happen to want to collect a few pieces. It's still available on Ebay. If you watch the auctions it can be had for cheap. Not thrift cheap, but cheap if it's a real auction versus a buy it now. I'll go through my pieces and see what I can part with. If there's something I can part with I'll send it to you. Do you use sugar in tea or coffee? I have the miniature creamer and sugar. I have way tooo many S&C' sets. The minatures are so fun when you have coffee or tea with just someone else or yourself. In a different time the way they were used were on bed trays taken by servants. I don't use sugar or cream. Nor do I drink tea. In fact --yes, please let me send you the S&C. They are so cute, but it's not fair to them not to be used. Send me your address by PM. Then you use a very small or baby spoon in the sugar. Cute- It'd make my day if you said yes :) DS son will never miss them and it will make me happy. BTW your post on exercising got me back in the pool swimming. Did you hear from Doc on your stomach/abdomen results?

Teka and 2nd always love the pics.

Rosie please, post table when done :) The desk you did in blue and red. Is fun. Was it just revitalized or was it a find that was redone?

Jazzy so true post BC things we aren't supposed to be doing. But I do them. Drinking and smoking and overweight. Oh well.............

Loverly, yes, you did get everyone right :) Chit is for shit, Forklift is for F**K., Recockulous is a real word synonym for ridiculous---really.

Dutchy, maybe you were a Tinker in a pervious life :)

Here's a kick in the butt thing. I bought a HP pavilion x 360 in June last year. I chose to do installment payments. Had a no interest offer. Made last payment this month. Today a key fell off. Been having trouble with keys not making letters. I suppose I have to send it back to HP.

Sas- I am overweight too. Working on it though. Lots of exercise and working on getting the eating figured out (not so much the calories, but how much I eat and when). I have a couple drinks on occaision. My MO said okay to that.

Okay this is the stupidest thing In the world to write about. You all know I'm short on a brain cell every so often. This is on Beds. Several years before Greg died, we treated ourselves to new beds. "The Mattress Factory". I got an electric vibrating bed >1800$. Greg's was half that, but his didn't do anything. I keep catching him napping on mine b/c of the vibration. I said Honey, let's just het another one. Lo and behold, I thrifted one (electric/vibrating Mattress Factory) at SPCA for 125$, looked like it had never been used. Yay, then we both had one. His bed went to the extra room.

BUT the thrifted bed's mattress was too firm. We bought a new "mattress factory" upper mattress. Then I had an extra Mattress, It went into the closet. Fast forward. One total bed and extra mattress went to DS. They recently returned. That's why I have referred to spawning beds. One set in the living room and the extra mattress in my room. Still decluttering DS's room with intent to paint. That's why the living room bed can't just go to a normal room i.e. a bedroom.

Here's the stupid part. I took the extra mattress to the Salvation Army. I said goodbye to the mattress and apologized that I just couldn't keep him any more. AND hoped IT found a home that would take care of it well. A guy came out of the SA donation door and saw me. I faked it. Who says goodbye to a mattress.

Now, I'm still feeling guilty. Irrational to the max. Probably just shoulda talked to Gary my counselor, but....................

Sassy..... WTH? I'm trying to keep up with what you are saying, and to tell you the truth, I think I have.... Not that it made any sense, but I know what you mean.... You loved that damn mattress.... period. Some things we have, just have certain places in our hearts.... And we can't get rid of them, unless we come to our senses, and part with them..... and then run back to get them..... Don't do it.

You have a counselor? Those guys are expensive! DAMN! Get rid of him, and just talk to us, and we will humor you and talk you down from one of your Salvation Army runs.

So this has nothing to do with nothing.... except it being a mattress topper....! I bought one at Costco.... 2 months ago.... The most comfortable thing I have ever had... Some sort of gel-foam something.... Queen size.... So I am happy...

Theresa just called.... She sounds so much better.... They all got to say good-by, and she is just sure he could hear them.... I'm just glad for her.

YOU spent HOW much on a mattress? You could have bought a CAR for that much!

Sassy- I get attached to things too. Usually it is my cars. I have a hard time trading them in or selling them. I remember kissing one of my favorite cars, a Saab 900S goodbye before I traded it in for a newer Saab. Who kisses a car? I do!

So in addition to Jazzy loving jazz and praying, she is a car kisser too!

Jazzy, First I want to say his isn't a rant b/c by the time I got done writing this it looks like a rant-----the chit is just so long.

A good part of the weight came on when the thyroid went kaflooey. The thyroid likely went kaflooey after I took Micalcin(late 2012) for bones. Can't prove it.  But in a relook at Miacalcin a little more than a year after the weight gain, in the  s.e.'s list was "goiter". I was an 'oh chit' moment. I just stared at the screen. WTF. I never saw it when I restudied the drug before I started it. One of those thoughts that why do I have to have these friggen learning experiences. This s.e. is pretty rare. BUT b/c I had the goiter-- testing was done. B/c I had testing done the thyroid cancer was found. The pathologist missed the cancer in the first bx (June/july 2013). The f/u ultrasounds showed the goiter was growing, but slowly. In January 2014, I said to Endocrin doc "We've jumped on the cancer bandwagon, but no basic causes of goiter have been done, can't we do some more basic testing and autoantibodies." The auto antibody test done was Thyroglobulin(Tg) and antibodies. If both those are positive than a dx of Hashimoto's is made. If the thyroglobulin is elevated and no antibodies it's suggestive of cancer. TG elevated/ autoantibodies negative. That was mid January. Within minutes of the ENT surgeon seeing those results he changed his attitude and suggest removal.

Pathologist missed the cancer dx again, but sent specimen out for a second opinion b/c "of patients concern re: cancer". QUEST labs found cancer diffusely throughout both lobes. LOVE Quest.

Facts: Miacalcin has no reported connection in causing thyroid cancer.  Thyroid ca grows REALLY slow for papiallary and follicular. The other two types are different. Ongoing studies now as told to me by Moffitt doc--1. Japanese study --15 year duration, 900 plus in study, only three known papillary patients have needed treatment i.e RAI-131. 2. Thyroid ca has been found on routine autopsy that weren't contributory to death--incidental finding.(forget number).

Far out thinking: Was they're a link between Miacalcin and goiter--unknown, but it is identified in monograph(drug info). But since I have two neuroendocrine tumors 1. ER+ BC and, 2. meningioma brain tumor benign. I think I'm lucky that if Miacalcin caused the goiter we may have not of found the thyroid cancer.   Goiter with thyroid cancer is not routine. Bottom line the cancer was found without mets and was node negative. The weight kept screaming at me that something was wrong. B/C of that I kept at the docs.

I'm not happy with the weight----but it may have saved my life. Again.

You may not know the BC hx that I was in the pipeline for a prophy BMX b/c of family hx. Twin and six other women on paternal side. Half way through the process BC was found. It was very aggressive. Oh yeah, the brain tumor was found at the same time. Incidental to an evaluation from headaches etc. from a fall.......

Geneitics--------multiple possibilities PTEN, CHEK 2, P53 maybe more. Can't won't do b/c insurance won't cover.  Two more cousins dx'd with BC since me, one has died.  OF those with BC that were tested BRAC was negative---some predate Brac testing.  Of 54 blood relatives ---they're are all kinds of cancers. Several with multiple cancers.

Range of fitness to smoking and drinking or any life thingy had----no coorelation. EXCEPT the paternal side where 7 of 10 had a cancer hx. They were a farm family that grew up on farms during the introduction of pesticides. In the early days of pesticides the concentration wasn't controlled as it later came to be. Also, keeping the kids away from pesticide exposure wasn't a big deal. Plus, the real break I believe came from the Paternal Grandmother side as her realitives and subsequent progeny on that side is even more cancer laden.

Anyhoos------------I'm very lucky.  Incidental BC, incidental meningioma, incidental thyroid ca. Hope it keeps being incidental findings. I feel like I'm ahead of the stampede. Just hoping to stay there.

OH Jazzy,  when I traded the last van in 2004.  The van was 17 y/o. I walked out and opened the doors and looked at all the bumps and bruises.  The salesmen came out put his arm around my shoulder and said. "You're saying goodbye aren't you? It's okay It will go to auction and someone else that needs it will get a few more years out of it". I thought at the time it must be more common than I think.

SAAB's are such cool cars-----------so much fun to ride in. Thanks for understanding. Felt goofy.

Chevy, First of all sorry about Eddie, and glad Theresa's okay. Her tough time is coming , but I know you will be there for her. It will take time.

In regards to the mattress. I just feel a responsibility to take care of things well. I think it started when I saw my mom & dad lost their house when I was 11 or 12.  It was in the aftermath of Polio. Hated Polio. I can still see the truckloads of stuff being carried off to St Vincent De Paul. Stuff I knew from a wee one. Maybe that's why I got into junking/antiquing/thrifting.......saving the old stuff and being keeper of the family stuff. That's very logical, but doesn't make the pain go away from that time. I can see the trucks as if it were today.

BTW your link on Mark Gungor on W& F's was very good. I watched about 2 1/2 hours of his video's. I called son and recommended he watch them. It'll be hard, but I want to try and get DBF to watch them too.

    Sorry about Eddy, Chevy.

I have been busy. I had lunch with my daughters, bought a present for the Bday party tomorrow, and sorted through some household items. I also bought myself a new tool. I just came in from the garage. I was using a brad nailer and air compressor for the first time. Yay me! I didn't nail myself to anything or blow myself up (at least I don't think i did).

Chevy (((((hugs)))))) on the passing of your friend. No doubt you will be a source of strength to his wife. Chocolate coke and petunias sounds good to me!

We went to the cabin and my DD put together another IKEA bed in the kids room. DD loves to put things together and has a mechanical bent. She just needed some help with those tricky bolts that put the headboard to the side slats- DH and she finished. Now more places for kids to sleep. It was so peaceful and quiet up there. Showers then sun breaks - beams through the forest. I put up a Humingbird feeder and we have a ruby thoated humingbird that just LOVES it! He gets real upset if you are on the porch and sits and complains on the vinemaple! He buzzed my Dh as he cut some slats for the bed! The feeder has been up a week and 1/3 of the nectar is gone! We had the woodstove going so warm and toasty. Still having pain issues but it's doable.

That little bedside table looks GREAT! It came out very well. DH put a satin finish top coat, I am most pleased. My DD likes it. It is a much higher nightstand so the light is better for reading. Plus it's solid maple no veneer, dovetail joints - thrifted for 15$ because of cigarette burns on the top! I sanded all of it off! Lot of work, but worth it. The desk my DD had, but there were so many marks on the top. I couldn't get the dents, scratches and all out, so I decided to sand off the stain and paint. The bedroom has ice blue walls, blue checked curtains with red flowers, white matlesse bedspreads. The red desk with the blue top looks so cute in there, cheerful. She has a lovely bent maple antique chair for the desk.

We have ALWAYS named our cars! The longer we had them and we usually drive them into the ground - the more attached we were. When I was a kid my entire family had our picture taken with "Betsy" our old blue Ford station wagon before she went to the scrap yard! We were all sad to say good bye! So it's not weird to "love" your car.
