Heisey  ----DS hasn't got these yet. Thrifted so many years ago--DUH oh my stars, just realized I never identified these before.

Smarrty, Oh good I'll bring the link so you can see all of Caprice. Fell in love with it years ago.

Cambridge, Heisey, Hazel atlas, Duncan Miller and many others produced what was called Elegant glass. Here's a maybe  not so elegant description of the differences, but it's a working description.

Hi Owlettes! Lying here in bed with my iPad, listening to my new favorite music (with earbuds of course, DH is sleeping), reading through the day. I got my hair trimmed, first time since chemo. My hairdresser is a real pro, he's been cutting hair nearly 50 years and understands growth patterns. And he told how my growth pattern has changed and how to comb it so it doesn't stick out. Feels so much better.

Rose had her spa day today and has already shed one of the pretty red bows. But she is clean and sweet smelling for a day at least.

Speaking of family, I reconnected with a sister I haven't seen in 3 years or talked to in 2 years. The reasons are a long story. Don't know if we will stay connected or not. Family is strange.

Jazzy great link :) So, fun to see Alice light up and start moving to the music

Mags , that first haircut... Nice. Bald wasn't bad, hair is better. Warmer and strange how the head sweats without hair. Kept rolling into my eyes.

Okay, I was trying to figure out what I was doing, or where I WAS on here, and then I saw where Susan has a pole in her bedroom???? Am I mistaken here, or did I mis-interpret something else again?

Just mean to say there are PLENTY of poles out in the alley, that you can practice on, and don't have to go buying your own! Just sayin'.....

Sass... beautiful glass-ware! And what's this about Spookie telling you to knock WHAT off? How can I read so much, and not make any sense out of anything?

Going with DD today.... and then have lunch! I must start putting myself together... You know.... shower, drying, hair-stuff, paint & dressing....

Had a huge laugh today while watching Princess playing. She was playing one of her toys at was scooting around the scratching post. Does this make her a pole cat?     lol

    Cami,

    Drop in when you can.....

We love you & sometimes worry.....me being the offical worrier....

    Speaking of, MammaRay.......Dutchie......?...many others.....

House is sold, I made a deposit on a rental home. In the process of figuring out what to do with a lifetime of stuff. We have a storage & the house we rented has a 3 car garage & is almost 2,000 sq. ft. I think we will be able to take/keep stuff we will never use/need again. Heartbreaking in some ways, makes sense in others. My DS is not happy with me. He had convinced DH that we needed to pull the plug on the sale, take the house off the market & remodel. I had to be the tough one.

Sas, blue glass is cool. I will look it up. Off to shower & meet a friend for lunch. Then getting this hair colored....needs it a week ago....yikes...

I have never had a hang-over in my life..... I just didn't like any kind of alcohol, so that is why, probably! My Dad and Grandpa only drank whiskey, and it made them oh so lovely.... I hated the smell, and how it turned them into "someone else." And I WORKED at Coors for over 18 years!

Then FIL was the same.... always drunk.... DH did his share also, at one time.... It's just hard when you don't drink, to try and understand why people have to get chit-faced, to "have fun".......

That was the reason I gook a LOA one time 13 years ago..... Couldn't handle it anymore..... but it all changed, when priorities got straightened out, and he realized in order to keep me, he had to give up "IT"...... At least most of it.....

When people are around drinking all their lives, they see that as being "normal" behavior ..... but when they grow up, you realize there are choices, and you can either be like them, or follow your own star..... and not use either drugs or alcohol to make you feel better....

My Mom and Grandma lived with it all their lives..... Mom always said "I'd rather have him part of the time than none at all"..... So that was her choice, but made us kids miserable growing up around it. My Brother doesn't drink either....

I like a glass of wine once in awhile, or a White Russian..... but that's about it.... I'm just scared to death to be around someone drunk..... I learned that when I was little.

CAMMIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! You came back, almost! Yes, just pop in to say hello sometimes.... like every 6 months or so! Sorry you have your health issues..... You sure it isn't some STD or something similar? Herpes? I think they take Pennicillin for that.... don't they? Is the rest of your family alright?

Spell check is not working on here through AOL, but YOU guys know what I am saying.....

I can't drink ANY thing any more. I got so chit faced about 40 years ago, took almost a week to sober up. Since then, if I try alcohol my throat swells and I can't breathe. Breathing is a good thing.

So now I'm the designated driver, and it can be fun watching those who are drinking act like ..........

I remember a gal I worked with, told me she had a few drinks one night, and had to go to the Emergency room for alcohol poisoning.... Don't know if she ever drank again.... I won't go out at night anymore, around family or friends... because that temptation is always there, and I can't do it anymore..... I mean even if everyone else is drinking....

I remember being spanked for no reason, screamed at, and kissed by Dad's dirty old friends.... and the women in the family always crying, and going after Dad in jail.... and always making up......

There is a line they cross, and no turning back.... I just remember beligerent, mean, screaming, and falling down drunk..... So we don't go out at night....

Dinners are fine on Week-ends, but always home at night.... So I'm like always the one to make sure we don't go where all that drinking is.......... When we are in Orlando, there would be hell to pay if anyone drank too much.... And both Daughter's make sure everyone has been told.

When I went to a family counselor one time, I said "I don't believe it is a disease.... that they can QUIT, if they just stop drinking..." Period. Cancer is a disease.... You can't give that up, and be okay.... THAT is a disease that stays with you.... you can't "quit" .... But I was told Alcoholism is considered a disease so Insurance will pay for it.... Same with smoking .... it is not a disease.... neither is alcoholism,.... You don't "catch" that.... You do it because you want to....

Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy to quit cancer, or diabetes, or any other life-threatening disease?

Okay..... sorry..... I know we all have those days when we just think WTF???

My DH said I could never be an alcoholic since I can't stay awake long enough to drink enough to be an alcoholic! Plus he swears I stop breathing when I have even 2 glasses of wine.. He said he had to push me to get me to breathe I would have such long silences between breaths if I had alcohol. So I'm with you spookie I am the designated driver. I hate the taste of beer, but a nice glass of wine once in a while is very nice. I love wine grapes and cheese.. ooohhh very fine. I like that a lot.

Weird day today.. it gets dark, cloud burst, sunny... dark... rain or drizzle. Mags your avatar picture looks great. Sassy I very much like the glass platter, neat design. I got the burn marks off that little bedside table I thrifted. I sanded the hell out of it, put 3 coats oil stain and varnish and dang if it doesn't look great! My DD likes it too.. now to let it dry. I need to sand the one inside shelf now, Rock Maple made in Cambridge Mass.

Wouldn't it be nice to just forget cancer and feel as good as you did before diagnosis and surgery and drugs. Just to have that innocence back where you are happily oblivious! Sweet. Cami please get into a good match with Chevy.
