Yes, Chevy I threw up. I was so sick and should have stayed at home but I had already been out 4 days and I just knew I was better. My mom kept saying you need to stay home another day but I convinced I was so much better. I have a smart phone and I do text but only because my husband is the type to keep up with technology. If it wasn't for him I probably would still have my flip phone. LOVED IT! I did not understand people texting at first. Just could not figure out why anyone would rather text. Now I text all the time. So many times I want to text one line to someone to find out something, like what time we are meeting for dinner. My kids text I love you mom. I like those. I also take pictures with it all the time. I was at Hobby Lobby and they were advetising painting classes so I took a picture of the poster. I take pictures of recipes and have them when I am at the grocery store. My husband took a picture of the bag of grapefruits this morning to see if that is the kind I wanted. I kind of like it now as I discover it uses but I miss my land phone.

We have smart phones and I do text more than phone because so many people prefer texts.  It's also handy to be able to check e-mail, facebook and bc.org on the phone when I'm sitting in a waiting room and have time to kill.  Plus my phone has a good navigation program.  But now my new Prius has the gps so the phone gps is overkill.  My dh can't have too many gadgets and he's always ready for the newest technology.

He just bought a printer that I can activate from my laptop in the living room.  When I give a print command, the printer--in another room--starts printing out the document.  It's really convenient.  I used to have to carry the laptop into the office and connect it with a cable.  Now I can just sit on my derriere!

I was on a business track in high school.  Skipped college prep courses like chemistry and physics and took shorthand and bookkeeping.  Then I won a scholarship to college.  So I never worked as a secretary and did not use the shorthand.  The typing skill came in handy and also the bookkeeping for personal record keeping.  I found chemistry difficult in college and also struggled a bit with geometry.  Chemistry I (one) was my only C grade.  To keep my scholarship I was required to maintain a B average.  Looking back, it's comical how little the scholarship was worth.  It supported me through 4 yrs. of college and it wouldn't pay for a semester at the same college now.

I still think saddle oxfords are cute and penny loafers, too.  The full skirts and starched underskirts were ridiculous, though.  My sister and I sewed our skirts and put 3 yards of material in them.  What a pain to iron!

    Any Dr. Oz fans?

Thanks you guys, for all the compliments.... I loved making them.....

We had driving class, only we took a real car out! A stick-shift.... Ha! Did they even make automatics in 1955? I got rid of m 99 Chevy Prizm stick-shift, and I was sooooooooooo glad! I HATED having to stop on a hill, and using the clutch AND the brake to hold yourself there! We were taught to do that, so we wouldn't roll backwards.

Carole I didn't like Math at all.... never mind anything more advanced than that! I didn't like those story problems.... I LOVED English, creative-writing, Home Ec. and the typing class! Even History, but not Math....

Chevy - didn't Dodge have something like an "overdrive" that was the pre-curser to automatic? Oh that's too long ago to remember.

Sandra - good to see you. How was the rest of your short beach break? How is Mike doing? And how are YOU doing?

Morning Minus! I don't really know.... or remember... Ha! I know my Dad had a 1951 Buick, and I drove his car sometimes, to go cruisin' the Scotchman drive-in restaurant... This was in 1955, and that's where I met my Husband to be.... I drove in, with my silly girl-friends, and he was already parked there, sittin' LOW in his seat, so I pulled in next to him.... He looked casually over and said "Big car ya got therre..." And I said "I'm a big GIRL!"

And we all laughed... then we all left, and met up on Inspiration Point, and they got in my car, and we looked at pictures in each other's wallets.... HA! That sounds SO funny now! But we started dating, and 1 1/2 years later we got married.... 57 years ago....

    Happy Birthday Ducky!

Chevy, I love your picture and the story about how you and your hubby met!

The sun is shiing here and hopefully we will be able to golf later today. I am going to use that as an inspiration to get myself moving and finish us a few of the things that still need to be done inside this morning. Funny how I now need inspiration and in my earlier years I just dug in and got it done and then moved on to the next chore. :-)

Happy Birthday. Yes, it sounds old, but how does it feel? I look on each birthday as a triumph - made it another year.

Well, age as they say is just a number.  It's an important one but like you Wren --  I see it as an accomplishment.  I also have had the attitude for a long time that I'll be here on this Earth as long as I'm supposed to be.

My hope for all of us is that we can enjoy life as much as it is possible and that whatever comes our way we can maintain some dignity ( while having plenty of fun, of course ) and be happy and grateful for all we have  -- even if it is just a smile from someone or a cheery card in the mail.  You will always be important to someone and I just want to be able ( even if I don't know who they are ) to honor  that fact and not forget.

Chevy! You and your husband are SO cute! You both like you should be in Photoplay or one of the cool movie magazines I used to read. Your date was so innocent. Things have sure changed.

    Happiest of birthdays, Ducky.

We're still doing ok. I'm trying to get rid of the remnants of the flu so I don't have lots of energy yet. I quarantined myself and wore a mask if I had to come downstairs so Mike didn't get it. Good thing because he had a little sinking spell the past week, but felt good today so he's on his way back up. Holding our own here.

Good Evening. I saw my ONC today. News is not good. I have mets to my liver. I have two spots. I will have a PET scan on Tuesday and then see the ONC again on Wed. We will stay at the Hope House.

My ONC is hoping that it is the same cancer as was my breast cancer, he says it is easier to treat. Here we go again. It has been 4 years. We are all pretty shook. Will do the best I can to fight it.

Hugs to all. Going to try and go to bed if I can get my brain to shut down.
