Mommarch, terrible news. Hoping for the best outcome. Definitely count on us as your support team.
-
Mommarch, hated reading that this morning, sending prayers and lots of hugs. Your docs will come up with a battle plan
-
Mommarch, We never seem to be able to leave it behind. So sorry, hoping they are able to get you back in remission.

We can learn to trust ourselves by inquiring within. To practice
doing this, sit quietly, close your eyes, and for a minute focus your
attention on your breathing. Gently visualize your inner wisdom as
a graceful butterfly. Admire her beauty, and encourage your
butterfly to sit on your shoulder and whisper her wisdom
in your ear. Be still and listen.Sue Patton Thoele

thank you Chevyboy!
I continue to be upbeat and just want to get on with treatment. I am the wife of a military retiree and fortunate to get care through our Naval Hospital, with coordination through other local facilities. I guess I am about to find out what Tricare Prime will pay for!
-
oh mommarch.....HUGS! I am so sorry that you have to deal with this again. Sending thoughts and prayers your way! The ladies on this thread will be your biggest supporters and cheeleaders!

looking back on my Home EC classes (or Domestic Science) as it was called in the UK where I went to school, I find it amazing that we girls were taught how to peel carrots etc. and cook wholesome meals for the husbands we were told we should aspire to. I wanted to do carpentry but was told " that's for boys, silly!
I also thought making our own cleaning compounds was interesting. I still have my little cookery book from early high school. Loved wearing those gym slips!

NCDI,I had ( farmed out for some things ) treatment at the V.A. Hosp. 73 miles south of me. Was in the military in the 60's. I didn't need them for most of my life, but when I did they were there. I was highly satisfied with all that they did, and the places outside the facility that they sent me too were wonderful as well.
Waiting is sometimes the worst part -- because in some cases ( hopefully not so much yours ) it seems like too much time is passing before you feel like your efforts are actually producing some results. Hang in there.
I think I should have said WELCOME up there before I started all the typing -- my fault. We are awaiting a storm and I'm getting ahead of myself. Hope you will come back often. We talk about anything and everything.
Blessings

Thank you Jackie - it's good to be among such a great support group.
I am cool with necessary delays due to test result, etc. and know that everyone on my team is there for me. I am thankful for the phone call reminding me I was overdue for my mammogram.
I shall return when I have Oncotype score and next treatment steps.
Thank God for Mammography

Mommarch, terrible news. Sending prayers and lots of hugs.
Ducky, Happy Belated Birthday. Hope you had a great day.

I did 2 1/2 hours of yard work today and got some pruning and weeding done. That's about my limit these days. I used to be able to work all day, but then I WANTED to work all day. There has been a loss of initiative, which is another way of saying I've gotten lazier. Also my foot was hurting pretty badly by the time I went inside and peeled off my sweat-drenched clothes.
Then we had a thunderstorm and downpour this afternoon. If it isn't too wet around the front flowerbeds, I'll go out again in the morning. I had 20 bales of pine straw delivered for mulch. The problem with going outside and getting started is seeing all the things that need to be done.
Wishing everyone a restful evening.
-
Good for you Carole, the weeds are coming up faster than the flowers here, even though its been cold. Anymore I think about weeding, but my knee doesn't want to kneel and my back doesn't take very much bending. Hoping our daughter feels like weeding, She helped out last year. Everything I might take to help my arthritis , I can't with the Coumadin! Maybe I can convince myself the weeds are flowers!

mommarch,
So sorry to hear your news. I don't post much any more but do keep track of everyone so hope to be in your pockets too. Saying prayers that they can get you into remission.

Morning gals.... I got me a garden kneeler...

And I use it all the time! You can turn it over to sit, or use it for kneeling.... and it's easy to get up AND down. I use mine inside AND outside.... like when I have to clean the lower cupboards... closet....
Carole... when you look at the WHOLE picture and all that work, just start in one area, and get that cleaned or planted, and then work on another. And don't try to do it all at one time... just take a break, and do more later, or the next day....
I wish it would RAIN here! It's all around us every day, but so far nothing!
-
Good advice, Chevy. I'm thankful that I can still bend over and pull weeds and spread mulch. I encourage myself by thinking, This is exercise. It's GOOD for you. Plus it's always a pleasure to see the results. It was the creative side of gardening that appealed to me. I liked building the beds and planting things that bloomed and looked pretty. With all this rain and humidity we have a greenhouse atmosphere outdoors. The shrubs planted along the house go crazy and have to be pruned or we wouldn't be able to see out of the windows!
Happy Sunday to all.

"Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.— George Eliot"

Morning,
I should have one of those kneeler gizmo's but I don't really do all that much outside. Have learned the hard way that any "planting" and I would have to put a big iron fence around it to keep Dh from mowing it down as soon as possible. It must be such an exciting challenge to him!! Sigh !!!! Funny to me how the patience for things between male and female is distributed. I already know that I'd feel challenged to carefully mow around something that is planted -- while Dh is challenged apparently to go in as straight a line as possible.
Maybe I should be happy --- If we ever get to where we have to pay someone to do it -- they will be thrilled at how easy Dh has made it FOR them. They will be able to just zip along with nothing in their way.
Don't know what is on for today for sure. No shortage of things to do. I do have to get Boss his bath. That will lead to having to clean the big bathroom, but then -- I didn't clean it this week knowing Boss would need the bath and just destroy anything I did. Soon it will be time to get the "hairy" dogs their Spring cuts at the groomer's. This yr. I'm going to bite the bullet and get the expensive flea collars for the dogs. They last 8 months. Are about $50.00 each so actually less than I would pay for 8 months of the drops on their necks and sometimes those don't work so well anyway. The VET assures me that I'll likely be VERY happy with the collars. I think I will to. The dogs don't like having the drips applied.
Need to get my car re-washed as well. There is a green tint going on from all the pollen that has settled on it. I'll see you all later when I check in again.
Blessings

Ducky - What a great looking family. Thanks for posting and more happy wishes. I believe we can celebrate for more than one day!!
-
Great pictures Ducky! What an incredible amount of love surrounds you. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
Mommarch- {{{hugs}}}
We are preparing for my GS's 16th birthday party next weekend. My daughter had a list for me to get at SAMs yesterday, and two lists for the grocery store- one for yesterday and one for the party that we will get on Fri.. On the way to the store yesterday, I asked if the list included anything for dinner this week. Whoops, she forgot we have 6 nights of dinner before the party ( minus one- we are taking him out on his actual birthday). Back to the grocery store today.
Have a good Sunday everyone

Ducky -- you, ( and everyone else too ) look like you are so enjoying yourself -- and I must say, you look pretty good for 80. You give us all hope about the " relatively " good shape we could be in at 80. Just keep on keeping on -- your wearing it well.
Minus is right -- celebrate for as long as you like.

Ducky, I especially love the picture with the young grands! Someone doesn't want to have her picture taken!

Brrr , was 30 when I got up this morning, with some frost. Come on spring!

A few more tears last night. DGD got back from Debate in San Angelo. We set down and talked with her. She came later and asked me if I was going to leave her with big tears. I told her I was going to fight and do all I can to be here for her. We will leave Tuesday morning for PET scan at 1:00 PM. Stay at the hope house on Tuesday night , see ONC on Wed. stay the night again and come home on Thurs.
Kimber will stay with her Paternal GMA in Alpine. I am so thankful they have a good relationship and she is so willing to help out.
Will let you know more when I do.
