Finding that bit of information on my maternal grandmother's side of the family was amazing. The only family that my grandmother said her mom talked about was Great-Grandma's sister.

Holeinone- congrats on the contract on the house!

Jazzygirl - Glad you had a great time!

Mommy - congrats on finding that info on your family!

Holeinone- some times this site is possessed. evrything just vanished. Don't worry about the Make-A -Wish post and not understanding it, It was mostly to Chevy about how sweet the NASCAR sport is to cancer, terminal & life threatening disease effected kids. The drivers and all, go all out. It was a very special experience. Since there were many kids there, obviously Nascar folks enjoy making the kids have a great time. It's not your chemo brain... I just talk too much.

I kind of tune out a little, when everyone shares a special remembrance between each other, i speed read those posts since I wasn't there. I skip the glass, since I am not into collecting patterns. I like the photos and check out the pictures and love the quilts and shared art. I pour over the animal postings since I love critters and gardens.. good jokes, funny stories. Good luck moving. I HATE packing.. ugh. Have a nice week. Blondie sounds better. Hope Patty is on the mend. ibgal- sounds like your week off is going to wear you out! Hope company is fun. Jaz- i love hearing good street music! nite!

hbgmysite- You are new as of April 19th to BCO and do not have diagnosis posted of BC or treatment. It makes a difference if you are taking BC meds, antihormonals, etc as they effect sleep. Chemo and radiation effects sleep. If you are newly diagnosed, but have had insomnia for 10 years then I would follow up with your PCP and ask for a sleep study to check out possible causes. At the beginning of this thread are listed many links to read on this topic. Start checking out the information there first. Good luck.

Rosie! You're the only one HERE, Ha! Yes, I gotcha! The race got rained out .... I hope it's on this morning... I read about that, and also about Steve Byrnes.... who works with Nascar... the Bristol race was dedicated to him.... He had neck and head cancer, and thought the chemo beat it.... but it has returned... So everyone is praying for him and his family.... DAMN!

Oh never mind.... seems they finished the race last night, and FX Sports, and I missed it! It was supposed to be on Fox... Oh well... I get to read all the highlights on the computer... Ha!

I saw the Make A Wish on FB! Great bunch of guys.... Danika is doing alright also! I used to watch her when she drove the Indy Car.... I think Nascar is just as challenging... maybe more-so.... but I got interested in racing about 13 years ago.... Saw my first Sprint cup race in Phoenix... But it's more interesting to watch on TV... Because you get to see it ALL... replays, pit-stops, and hear the announcers talking to everybody... Yes, I'm a gear-head! Our Daughter even took us to Daytona one year... Saw that amazing TRACK! Went through their "museum" and went down to the beach to see where it all started... Have you seen that bank on that track? It's almost got those guys SIDEWAYS! So what were you saying?

    Oh yeah, got abx.

Been in this house 30 years, had mostly bad renters for 25. Sick of it. They don't seem to give a damn, this last one, single mom, small kid. Dealing and using drugs. Child welfare investigating her place was absolutely filthy. 2 dogs.

Leasing agent vets applicants, her dad paid the rent, HE checked out fine. She-scum bag.

So we are looking at a double wide Mobil home on its own land, which is really rare around here. About 10 minutes from here.

Hi1 You talked of the house be on the market, Yay for a contract. You didn't talk of where you planned to move, or I missed it. Details. Exciting and sad at the same time. At least you've been decluttering for awhile. :) Yes, went Up Town. This is a milestone year--65 in July. Thinking it's okay to treat myself to some things. Been safe forever. Now going to get a little wild. :) I just am in love with the last glass find. Have one of the glasses here by the computer. Delicate like a newly drying butterfly with the light shimmering :) All the family that I've got into thrifting this year. One point in the teaching is--thrift in rich neighborhoods. What they cast off is amazing.

Most of the staff  comes today--lawn pool, house. Ugh I'll have to get busy in a bit to help DI with the house.

Blondie glad you got out and had some FUN. Hope the burn was to serious. I got you for ride to Walmart. LOL.

Mommie of2. Day yesterday didn't start to good, then you had a great time with Ancestry. YAY. It's a sign :) Maybe a new hobby?

Ibgal, hope the visit goes well and isn't to much for you? Is DH helping?

Jazzy, nice street band. My DH loved the Doors. I love music, but couldn't much hear the chatter about who was who and song names. Except for Motown. Motown was hot when I was in high school and I was in Detroit. The 60's. Lot's of talk so I did get to know all them. Beatles, Jim Croce, Jefferson Airplane and Starship.

Rosie thanks for the story about DD and Nascar. Nice, nice memory.

Spookie, hope all goes well with the selling and buying. Hope UTI clears up quickly.

hey sassy, can you recommend what's good to mix this with so it doesn't taste too bad? I have to take Iohexol 1 hour before I have the scan. I have to drink a quart. Don't know when yet.

    Spookie,

I am in a minor panic right now with the move, and leaving our home that the kids were raised. We built this house, meaning DH drew the plans, and we did a fair amount of the work. But I know it is time to downsize.

So do you live in a duplex? or do you rent out a basement apt. ? The rental market in our town is dismal. There are lots of apts. & rundown old duplexes, but if a home is listed it is grabbed immediately. DH wants to rent ( hate to bore YA all, probably repeating myself ).

Did find a fabulous new home on Sat. Never lived in, really nice. Loved everything about it, except the location. Not horrible, but if it was in one of the other new subdivisions I would be working very hard to convince DH this was it.

Spookie, back to you, would you still be in Dundlin? Close to the water?

Sas, we were posting at the same time.

My last trip to Calif. taught me what a huge difference the neighborhoods would have to offer. We have not officially signed a contract yet, but it will happen in the next day or so. The buyer lives very close, and is a realtor. He wants a bigger home, closer to the LDS temple. Our property taxes are insane. 1/2 acre lot, we do not have a fenced back yard. Our neighbors have 7 boys. Nice family, good kids. I love to be on my patio, 7 boys are noisy. I had 2 kids, they were loud.

Speaking of milestone birthdays, you will be 65, I turn 60 next month.

Yes, I have a duplex. 2 be, 1 bath each side, both have had some upgrades over the years. The Mobil is still in Dunedin, but not the original one we thought about. And not in water view! Dunedin has turned into a "hot" place to be. We have a linear trail that runs 23 miles, just outside the door. Very popular, as is the downtown. image

Smarrty, tell'em to take my pic too. Almost a year with 5 or less pain. Now daily7-9 Chit. Always something. Not even doing side along cleaning with DI. Always makes me feel guilty when I don't. I justify the money by thinking it's cut in half when I do side along.

Where are you hurting? Sorry you're hurting.

sassy, stomach, about 3 most times, then will jump up then go almost completely away. Started about 12 days ago and stayed constant. First notice it back at end of February. It would hurt then go away for several weeks. Didn't think too much about it. Oh well, will see what we see.

loveroflife, hi and welcome. I haven't been on in awhile. I didn't have 40 nodes removed, when my cancer recurred, it was in about 40 nodes . I hope it goes away, don't know how lymphadima works. Hubby had back surgery in late February and we are under some construction , so I have been lifting and doing a ton. If that is what caused it maybe it will go away. Go to chemo Wednesday so I will get to talk to doc. So far he said as long as my arm isn't hot and I don't have a fever, no emergency. He is a good guy, I have his cell #. We been together for 14 years, and I have never used it yet, he knows I would never abuse that, but so so cool to know I can get a hold of him if things go south quickly.

HoleinOne, good luck with all your house stuff...gotta be tuff...I am just trying to simplify and get rid of stuff and it's overwhelming.

Patty p...hope you are doing better

    Smaarty, hugs to you

Mom2, hope you are feeling better

    Beautiful quilt !!!

    Hi everyone else

Good luck with the move, after 25 years.that's hard. I can't get over how the housing prices have skyrocketed around the country. What goes down comes up. Spookie I wish you luck with finding something you like. Some of the adult communities around my Mom in Sarasota are really nice duplexes. Lovely landscaping and shared pools, tennis etc. I kind of like being around all ages though. hmm Sometimes it's a pain, kids screaming and endless banging of playing basketball. I have wanted to move for years but there is no place to go to that we can afford and my DH has a good job here. I don't have enough health to justify moving or be able to work 8 hours. So I focus on staying present, gardens, pets, kids- diversions. I wished I lived in a teeny tiny house 600 sq ft in a garden or forest in another state. Next life time. Ever looked at the houses in the tiny house movement? They are pretty cool, ultra compact like they do in Japan. Smarty I hope it's nothing.

Does a word ever get stuck in a bad place for you? Like a nasty trigger of bad memories and resentment. (You know like the word "ducky" for Spookie) I feel that way about the word "sorry."

SORRY - adjective from Old English

Meaning- wretched, deplorable, tragic, regrettable state, apology, sympathy for ones misfortune, "sorry state of affairs," "I am so sorry!"

It just makes my skin crawl, plattitude and drivel.. bull shit. It gets thrown out like "sorry" patches up "everything." There I acknowledged your pain... now go away. More like a splash of battery acid on an open wound. I HATE the word SORRY! That's my vent for today.

Hi Blondie. if you want to see a cool mobile home idea go to Idea Box. They started this ultra green business, leed platinum energy efficient company that makes mobile homes to put on your own land or in a park. They can get regular financing because they are made so well and so tight. It's a great space and the windows are huge and the light fabulous. Lots cheaper then stick built, plus you can buy modular pieces and add on. They have a model in town here. I will warn you they are ultra modern. Maybe they are only on the West Coast.

Rosie! Did you see THAt? On the last page we confronted a threat to our sanity! It was so stupid, we BOTH went after "it"..... Ha! We just knew something was amiss.... So I tattle-taled to the Mods..... On top of it as they ARE.... they removed that threat! Someone was trying to invade us, but we stopped them in our tracks.....

I'm just glad we can keep a watch-full eye on the sneakers-inners that pop up here ...... We rock!
