Going to start tamoxifen soon

I am almost done with my radiation and am going to be starting tamoxifen, any input on the pros and cons would be helpful.

    hi lisa9101, congrats on being almost done with rads.  I just finished five years on tamoxifen and did all right.  Worst SE was hot flashes, but I started those after chemo sent me from peri-meno to chemo-pause.  Still get the HF just not as bad or as often.  I adapted by dressing in layers of natural fabrics and carrying around a pretty folding hand fan to deploy as needed.  Best wishes! ♥

    congrat you are almost done with rads! I started Tamoxifen in January. I am happy to tell you that i don't have any side effect. But my skin is much drier than it used to so, i took a lot of fish oil, moisturizer etc.

    I've been on it 6 months and the only noticeable SE is the occasional hot flash. I still have my period regularly and MO said that may continue. I'm 40 and will be taking it for 10years. My skin has become noticeably drier, but I chalked that up to my BP med. I've heard it can cause sleeplessness, so I take it as soon as I wake up in the morning.

    I started Tamo this past Oct 2014. I hate it. Sorry, dont meant to be a Debbie Downer about it but besides the hot flashes an feeling clammy all the time, I have terrible brain fog and putting on weight. I have gained 7 lbs since Oct and I am working my butt off to combat weight gain. I work out 5 days a week and have really changed my eating habits but nothing seems to work.
