The compression T shirt is now on the GO site!

    http://www.gotravelwear.com/shop

This is a basic, black compression shirt, sized with some great help from quite a few ladies here who tried on prototypes and sent in feedback for adjustments.  That said, we all know that sizing is unique to each of us, and it's a rare woman who fits a size exactly.  The cut is a scoop neck, not too deep, in response to feedback about the need for higher compression.

If this fits the bill for a good number of us, and sales are brisk, I'm pretty sure that the designer at GO will make an alternate design available, thinking of a deeper scoop and shorter sleeves, for better wardrobe camouflage.  Even so, the current version is a much better wardrobe bet than anything else I've found, with no logo screaming 'athletic wear.'

$25 plus shipping ($6 on the one I just ordered, which I think is standard).

And one more time to clarify, I've been working with the kind Margaret at GO for quite some time to get a compression tee that meets our needs, but I have zero financial interest in this--in case anyone was wondering, as it's not OK to promote products out of self-interest in our forum.

Thanks so much to all of you who helped out with the sizing.  This was truly a group effort.  I hope this becomes a valuable resource for lots of us!

Those who have tried them, can you tell me how the sizes run? I assume that for a shirt you go by chest size only. In that case I'd be a small. I usually get M shirts because I like them loose.

I see there are two tee shirts. What is the difference between the two

Barb, the one we're talking about is on the lower right of the shopping window, the compression tee shirt. It's the one that's not shown on a model. The other shirt is a garment that doesn't provide compression.

    Jennie,

Most of us who tested the shirts have not likely purchased the new version. But from the two smalls I tested, I'd say the small run true to size for a compression shirt. The shaping keeps the bottom from slipping up like the male compression shirts and some other compression wear that I've tried geared towards younger athletic women.

I'm a solid 6 and the sample shirts gave me very good compression for my truncal LE, better than a male UnderArmour small. I'd not order a small if you were an 8 or if you needed more compression and were on the small side of a 4.

    Hope this helps.

The only thing I've ever worn that is supposed to fit snugly is the "cami shaper" and having been warned they run small, I got a large. It fits fine. Maybe they are supposed to be tighter, I don't know. I always get size L in sport bras too, even though according to the charts I should need a smaller one (36A in regular bras). But the reason bras and camis hurt me is because the edge cuts right across where my LE is. Which is painful.

Hugz, I seriously think I have lost track of the adjustments. I know that Margaret took everyone's feedback to heart. I truly have my fingers crossed that the shirts in the various sizes will work for a broad cross section of women who need compression all over, like a compression T will provide. I don't know if we will have succeeded for everyone, considering human body size variation and the absolutely nutty way that LE has of being so different for us all. And I know that a few women were disappointed that the shirt's long-ish sleeve and high-ish neckline cut can't disappear under some wardrobe items, but we were working first on compression needs. I do believe that if sales are robust enough, Margaret will help by creating a 'fashion' version that shortens the sleeves and lowers the scoop. LE brings out our patience gene, doesn't it?

Has any Uniboobers tried it yet?  I've always had trouble trying to put enough compression on the left w/o squashing my remaining breast.  Can it hold a swell spot, or will I need some other way to hold it up?

Glennie, we had one member try the shirt both with prosthetic and flat, and she had favorable comments. But nope...no uniboobers. Truly, I did not think of that.

I'm going to give it a try, I'll let you know. It says you can exchange if the fit is not right. My question: just how snug are they supposed to fit? Tight like a LE sleeve? Tight enough that it's a struggle getting it on & off? ;-)

Jennie, it should be pretty darn tight, but not so tight that it feels like it's cutting into you. I do find that I'm wiggling into it a bit; same as with UnderArmour shirts. But once I'm in the shirt, it's comfortable and definitely moves with me.

how do you put the shirt on? Do you step into it? Do you pull it over your head?

    Barb,

I think that the only option is to pull it on over your head. The neckline is small.

I bought one of the new shirts from GO and have been wearing it a lot these past two weeks. It's comfortable and fits me well, and I find that the compression is a little bit stronger than the UnderArmour I've been using until now. I am going to order two more of the GO shirts today. Many thanks to everyone here who helped with the sizing and design!

I've been contemplating buying one, but since my breast reconstruction/reduction my chest is smaller than my hips - any suggestions on how to size it?

gmafoley, I just don't know the answer to that question. The shirt's compression is quite good, so I suspect that if you size for larger hips, it will still give you some good compression higher up. Maybe some of our size testers will see this and add their two cents.

My breast is considerably smaller than my hips. I'm one of the testers and neither shirt I tried rolls up. I tuck it in and have no problems. Much better than other compression shirts.

I'm another "wide-beam" tester who had no trouble with roll-up. The fabric has a very nice feel as well.

Hey, Carol, in looking at the page you linked to, and there're some other very nice items on that page, not for compression, but just really sharp, comfortable-looking clothes. The culottes, for instance, really look like a summer treat--nice! Maybe make that order for more than compression tops….

    Thanks!
    Binney
