Shirt design for Lymphedema

UA doesn't work for me,, The men's sizes are too big, and I've never been able to find womens sizes.
Thanks for letting me know about the scoop neck,, I will keep you posted,, and it is good to know that they will consider doing a custom for me,, if it just needs a bit of tweaking! I actually think a scoop will be better than a V

Up-date for my compression t. I ordered the Wearease compression t in both a 3 x, and 2x, and they were so gigantic on me! No compression when somethings falling off....lol! They were very large in the breast area. I lost half the breast on the right side, but still have have a c cup on the left, and it offered no compression across my chest or upper arm. The sleeve was huge. So I ordered the Go shirt size xxl today, and am keeping my fingers crossed it will fit. If it does indeed fit, that's a super price point at 25 dollars. I purchased 2 compression cami's from Catherines, and I love them. When wearing the compression across the chest my breast doesn't get all achy by mid day. I need some compression under the arm, so if this Go t fits I'll be thrilled! Anyone thinking of spending the plus $80. for the Wearease, beware they ran large for me. I'll let you all know how the Go compression shirt works out when I get it.

paintthesky, do let us know if the GO shirt works for you. I have my fingers crossed!

Go shirt update. I ordered a 2x, and it fits pretty good, but not much compression across the top of my breast and underarm. I am going to keep it because if offers some compression. I will order another one and go down a size, and see what happens. I think if I go down a size it'll be too tight in the hip area, but will offer the compression I need in the chest, upper arm and breast. The sleeveless one I got from Catherine's fits well, and is high under the arm. I can't stand to not wear it, because at the end of the day my breast aches. It's been trial and error, but I think I am finally finding some things that work.
-
Sadly, the shirt does not give me compression where I need it. I have not found anything that works as well as the EAB Medical breast binder and Swell Spot.

Bumping this thread. As I'm about to have a 2nd MX, I am hoping my options for dealing with truncal LE will get better.
Anyone wearing this GO shirt for truncal? How is is working out for you? I am interested in finding compression tees and cami's that will work for me in the near future once I'm flat.
Thanks!! glennie

Glennie, WearEase offers both a cami and a tee (as well as other options) that work well for me, and they're easy to deal with online. I especially like their "Slimmer," (which I wear inside out to better access the prosthesis pockets, but of course you can use them whether you need prostheses or not). Very nice fabric, soft and comfortable, and they're well made. They're here:
They have sales frequently if you're on their email list. (Just had 50% off on their rose and blue slimmers, but I only use beige and black.)
Hugs,

Glennie - so sorry you're facing another MX. I'll second Binny's recommend for WearEase. I use their "Sidney" compression bra since my LE is mostly truncal & breast. My LEPT is really impressed about how high it comes up in the back, as well as under the arms. It's sort of a criss/cross deal but comes with a separate light padding you can add if desired. They're really easy to talk to if you have questions and it's very easy to return if you need a different size.
-
Thanks for the recommendations, Binney and Minus. I am looking at their product list and I think there are a couple of things that might work for me. I'll have to wait until after surgery and get new chest measurements!
-
When is the surgery Glennie? We will be in your pocket and looking forward to hearing from you.
-
Thurs Nov 30 is the surgery date! Thanks for being in my pocket!

WearEase currently has a Halloween sale going on, now through Halloween--30% off your entire order. The code to use is:
SPOOKY2017
Thanks WearEase--whew! With the cost of LE being what it is, every little bit helps!
Be well,
Binney -
Thx Binney. I just ordered the new long compression Cami from wearease. I like that it's breathable. Not the cutest compared to other wearease products. The long zip is a great idea. Thx for mentioning Nice discount. All helps the pocketbook.
I'm hoping on wearing it on a short 2 hour plane ride. Yes that's right..... I'm braving the air and getting on a plane with my dang le that I'm so chicken to fly with! First time with le
I hope, I hope it fits!
-
Hugz, good for you! Happy, happy travels, and no "swell" times!
Binney

Binney - good idea to post about the WearEase sale. They are so good about returns or exchanges if the size is wrong.

Question: how much compression is in the shoulder area? Like on top of the shoulders? Is it a lot of pressure? Putting the link here for ease of finding later!

After looking at the sizing chart,,,, I'm also wondering how do we pick a size. Now that I'm flat,, do I just go with the chest measurement,, but then the waist is way too small. I just measured and my chest and waist are about the same size!
-
Glennie I get more compression on shoulder from mens underarnour compression tee than gotravel. But go travel is pretty good looking and compressive if your out and about town and want to look decent. Ph Margaret from gotravel to get help sizing. She’s helpful. Tell heryou don’t want so tight that it will roll up but need tight on top.
-
if you are looking for compression style ideas only, please ignore this but after trying clothes on recently, I realized I need: loose fitting sleeves, but not baggy. All of my shirts are too tight on my right arm.
thank you for thinking outside the box about this. I once had ideas for mastectomy shirts that were flat on the surgery side and didn't try to hide the fact but incorporate the flatness of that side into the design. I didn't follow up on it though. Good luck and thanks again.
