Beautiful Smarty! Do you make blocks out of those pieces, and then stitch them together by hand, or machine?

Does the "quilter" use batting? And then a matching cover for the bottom? And sew it on the machine? Or is the quilting done by machine?

My Mom quilted when she was 16... all by hand....

Chevy, all done by machine. The quilt is made of 20 blocks. The original had 12. I had to add more to get it the right size for Quilts of Valor. I'm sending it to a friend in AZ who has a long arm machine. It will have batting and the back is one of the red fabrics in the quilt. Once I get it back, then I just have to do the binding, which will be blue, since that's what I have left that's big enough. This is an assortment of some jelly rolls, and pieces I had left over, and fat quarters.

Ps. Love the nails. Used to do that but I became allergic to the acrylic powder.

Could someone explain how to keep notices from appearing on my email? I thought I had it turned off in my personal page, but something isn't right--help?

Smaarty, this is one my DD had in a show 2 weeks ago. Not the cat!!! She used a gold metallic thread to quilt it, by machine

Ohhh I love the quilt colors! I even love the kitty who looks pretty on the quilt!

Sometimes I think my life is just a comedy... of errors and the universe just being one big mind f*ck. I am blessed with the WORST luck, like some little black cloud just hangs out over my freakin head.

Morning gals.... Rosie I know exactly what you are saying.... And I don't think it would do any good to post those thoughts that you are thinking like in a "Letters to the Editor" column in the local paper...... But it should start SOMEwhere!

Insurance companies don't really want to take on that issue either, because it's just like people don't want to TALK about dying and death, and how they could help. Just like talking about cremation and funeral plans, and blah-blah. If people aren't in that position, or don't know anybody having these problems, then they don't want to get involved.

I know..... I know this old guy.... who was going through the end of his life phase.... And he was at home, being cared for by his old wife.... There was no hope... nothing was left.... for either of them.... life just dragging on....

Then "someone" with the means and the compassion came in..... took matters in his own hands, and as I see it, helped this old man who was just "waiting" for the end..... It WAS just like they did for my Daughter here.... Her old cat got to the point where she just couldn't go on anymore.... And TAKING her in was next to impossible.

She called this "service" where they send someone out, and help everyone, by mercifully, and lovingly put her to sleep, while you are holding her. We were there.... I was with Janie, while she was holding her beloved 19 year old cat, and talked to her while the gal gave her those shots.....

I don't undersand WHY it is so hard to convince people that this is needed.... for not only animals but for people who are in the last stages of life.... ! Why they have to "wait" until everything in them gives up... or quits! Thank God it didn't take that long watching my Mom or Dad.... even my Grandma.

Okay so Rosie.... now that I got THAT off my chest.. what else can we talk about?

Rosie... Hah! You were up, and I'll bet you went back to bed!

I KNOW Spookie is probably up.... dragging herself outdoors to welcome in another beautiful morning.... Today is supposed to be beautiful here!

Okay Rosie.... You want to come over, and you and me will walk up and get a Starbucks? And was it YOU having such a "bad-news-bears" day? I mean a BAD LUCK day??? Everyone is invited. We'll walk up there, with my cane....( because it's about 1/2 mile)... and we'll sit outdoors and drink our iced-coffee, and laugh at all the people walking by. That's what girl-friends do.

Sass! You mean like on this forum? When someone posts on "your" favorite threads, you get notices in your email? I USED to, but then they all quit, and I don't know why!

You mean you actually READ your email? Just sayin'......

Chevy- that video is awesome. I spent a lot of time in that particular train station in my 20's, when I was living back east and doing a lot of work down in the city. The whole thing is just well done and inspirational. Thanks for sharing!

We could do up our own video and then some, couldn't we?

Peppermint.... if it keeps up honey, I just want you to get it checked..... Maybe even over the phone....??? Yeah, I know what they will say, but it's worth a try...

I know I'm not a Doctor, but I think you should stay DOWN until you are not falling all over the place... Drink lots of water.... that's what they always say.

Take 2 aspirin, and call me in the morning....

Patty- if you have done a face plant twice in one day- you need to call the doctor. Can you take your BP? Are you drinking enough fluids? Don't fool around with that. If your salts (electrolytes) are off you can get so wonky and out of it, that you can't help yourself. Better to have them check it and if you need any replacement therapy they can give it to you. Don't add a concussion to your list of woes! I know they just sprung you out of the hospital and you don't want to return.. but maybe they can do out patient? Be well. Take care.

Okay Maddy thanks, Now, I know sometimes these markers look the opposite of what they really did. Should Remove etc be looking at me or Add etc. I'm going to guess, remove should be facing me. Right?

Patty, syncope. This is a good link. Way more technical than I would have gotten, but it's complete. Wearing a helmet is good to prevent head and facial injuries with the falls. One of the boys has likely got a football helmet. Please(double please), inform your doc.

    LOVE & HUGS

Chevy, I'm worn out You must have been back awhile. I stopped at that thrift store. A few pieces-- a blue glass, 2 beer mugs (ds request item--boy stuff), and bag of tea lights. Nothing exciting. Nap time or bedtime?

Nerds can celebrate for one more moment this evening, Pi to the 12th place only happens every hundred years. But it happens twice on the same day. YIPPEEE. Pi day has been celebrated for some 70 years. But it is only the first three numbers. It's also, Einstien's birthday.  Yale university has made it a very big event for years and years.  I just read of it for the first time today. Big Bang Theory missed an excellent plot line.

Patty, I have stuff written on the constipation thread about probiotics. Please, consider. While the big gun antibiotics are wonderful when needed, they knock out the good bacteria too. What kind of immune state are you in?

Our volunteer coordinator threw a 1yo birthday party for her daughter. Since it was pi day, the menu consisted of pie. Little quiches, shepherds pie, and pizza pie. Followed by apple pie and ice cream. Winning menu.
