Please sign if you haven't already, and please keep it circulating while there is such great momentum. Can't imagine everyone touched by bc wouldn't want to see more $$ going to research! Let's help Ann get to 10,000+ on this!

It says 1640 to reach 7500, so about 500 signatures for each of the last two days. Pretty good!

I was reading a short while ago about a young woman diagnosed with IBC in 2007. She looked at SBK website for information but could not find anything about IBC. She wrote repeatedly requesting that they add a line about IBC. No reply. She asked her friends to write letters also.
Finally after two years SBK answered her. They told that IBC is "too scary and too rare" to talk about and would she please stop writing and get her friends to stop writing to them as well. What a horrible organisation they are.
Perhaps we should bombard them with letters as well as the petition!
Pity that those who are running for the so-called cure in October cannot dictate where they would like their money to go i.e. 50% to research.

Wow painterly - that's awful.
Bumping this to the top.
-
What a shocking response, painterly! Horrible on so many levels!!!

Komen has such a big presence and raises so much money for BC, I'm sure it has had a very positive impact and helped many people in many areas. The pink ribbon promotion was certainly integral in gettin BC noticed and supported. But it is typical that when grassroots organizations grow, it becomes difficult to manage, and may stray from the orginial intent. I think it is just turning into another huge organization with management who no longer have any real connection to the cause. Just hoping they can re-direct all the millions collected towhere it is needed most.
Ann Silberman, who started this petition, will be moderating a Healthline talk on BC this week. Everyone can participate, here is the info, if anyone is interested.

It just made the 7,500 mark. Next stop 10,000 so 2,500 more signatures to go. Hopefully this will make a big difference in the future, if not for us, for our daughters and their daughters, etc.

Anyone else find this thought-provoking? http://www.spin.com/articles/kanye-west-petition-g...
I get their reasoning, but really??? 50,000+ signatures in a heartbeat for something like this vs. cancer research?!!!
-
I signed it.
If Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian were diagnosed with breast cancer, you would see an explosion of signatures.
-
John...I think they are reserving her to be the poster child for butt cancer

John, that is so true. We could sure use a celebrity spokesperson ('cause that's what seems to reach people) for more than pink ribbons!
