Change.org petition for better use of fundraising dollars
Hi Ladies,
I have posted this in a few threads to raise awareness of this petition.
Some of you might be familiar with Ann Silberman's great blog "Breast cancer...but doctor I hate pink", which has chronicled her journey from diagnosis to metastasis. I know many of us share her concern that Pinktober madness does not necessarily help towards BC research for a cure. She has started a change.org petition requesting that more fundraising dollars be allocated to finding a cure rather than just raising awareness. I am posting the link here, hoping that we all can support this cause, by signing the petition and sharing on social media.
To the Mods: If you think this petition worthwhile, perhaps you could post this as a stickie ?

Thanks so much ladies. Ann has updated the change.org page with more info on how little of fundraising dollars go towards research for a cure. This is so important to all of us.

Hi all,
FK, how are the boots?? I am expecting a package but my driveway is still full of snow and ice so nobody will walk to the door, it seems.
Yesterday 2/4 was my older son's birthday. He is 35. I sent him a gift overnight only to find out he was not home for the night - he stayed with friends. I hope he got it today.
Mom, great story about your mom's survival - big birthday celebration!
Lucy, I love that you are up all night (our night) so when I have insomnia, I can read your postsSlow, I know what you mean about always catching up, too much to read, and while I"m reading people are still posting.
My car wouldn't start yesterday morning...battery was dead and wouldn't take a charge.
I had DH drive me to work...I decided I didn't like winter and when we retire we'd have to go someplace warm...
We started with Florida...he said "alligators" and said "we'll shoot them"...I said "affordable house with pool" and he said "humidity and bugs"...and I said "let's ditch Florida...
Moved on to the Texas coast..."nice, but isolated - or else you're near Houston...too big, too busy...and hurricanes - worse than in NY"....so we moved on to Arizona..."too hot in the summer, no ocean or beach...a nice place to visit". By the time we discussed San Diego and Cabo, I decided we would stay right where we are. LOL we are hard to please!
(Car's fixed and running great)DD in CT was in the emergency room all day yesterday with severe pain. She had tests...I was so worried...and today she reports it is nothing major. She is home...still, I worry.
DD in MA sold her house, is buying another, and getting divorced. She hasn't told the girls that they are moving, and that when they do, their dad will go to a different house.
I am so sad about it but I pledged my support and help to my DD. She is going through a lot.Hi Ducky, Jo and others who are sitting by the fire tonight. It sure feels good. Temps dropping very low tonight. Again.
good night...

hahaha Joan....was this post meant for the Bonfire??? I can't tell you how many times I've done that....I'm glad I'm not the only one!!!
I often wonder if the mods just mess with us and move our posts!! hehe That would certainly make their day more fun don't ya think??

Hi Joan and Slow..I'm always chucking something into the fire on the STFU thread :-) :-)
