    Hello my Hermies,

    Rads burn all better, feeling good! My pal left already, what a good wine drankin, reminiscing time. I never wanted her to go. But her visit sparked me out of a funk.

    My hair is growing back nicely, and I worked today and will also tomorrow at a temp gig. Looking forward to more of that next week. Gotta get back to normal. Or the new normal.....

    Jeez, let winter end for my snowy, iceburg ladies. I will not mention the temps here

    Coping- welcome to our thread. Glad you found us, but very sorry to hear of the projections your doctors have shared. We have a few others on this thread who are Stage IV, and I have read about many other Stage IV sisters on bco whom share positive stories to share. That being said, it must not be easy to live with what your medical team has said.

    We have a nice group of ladies here and will help you however we can. We talk about a lot of things here beyond bc, from hobbies, to family, to funny stories we all have to share. We hope you like it here with us.

    Going through bc treatment or perhaps supporting those going through it causes many to rethink their lives and how they want to be spending their time. That includes what they want to be doing for work. Many people I have talked to here are changing their work or the way they work (the later is true for me). So perhaps your husband may just want something he enjoys doing more going forward. I don't think it should make you feel bad, but perhaps just know that it is what he will need to do to better take care of himself going forward. I have yet to meet anyone whose life was not drastically altered by this experience in some way.

    Jazzy, that gopher plant is gorgeous.  I have never seen one before.  Will it bloom during the summer too?

    Lily, so sorry to hear about your current problems ... just when you were getting going on your sanctuary.  I hope everything settles down quickly.  How is the sanctuary progressing?

    Welcome coping.  Jazzy's response is so true.  She has a way with words that I wish I had.   

    Bippy, it's good to hear that you and your friend had a good time visiting ... and you're back at work.  Do you like the temp gig?  It is something legal, right?  I have always thought that a legal job would be interesting but also sad when a client loses.

    I forgot to say "hi" to all.  Like Bippy, I hate to mention weather because ours is very spring like.  In fact, I must run and plant the two tiny ivy plants that I bought in January to brighten up my buffet.  They are dropping leaves, so they may be unable to make the transition to the outdoors.  I am wondering if they are tired of the house and my neglect.

    Sally- the gopher plant will have the flower for about a month and then the stalk will remain long term. It does not bloom all the time, but like's it's sunny spot in the front yard.

    Jazzy, I love the gopher plant! I've never heard of it before but the blooms are really lovely.

    Welcome new hermies!  I hope everyone is feeling a little Spring in the air.  I almost have enough hair now to go walking without a hat but not quite.  I tied a headscarf on over my ears and had to laugh, I looked just like my mother!

    you and I have very similar dx, so I may need you to help me one day, should this chit progress in me too. None of us knows if we have that in our futures.

    Mags- great photo. I can tell your techs love you and vice versa too probably! Thank god for the great people who take care of us along the way. I hope your dinner last night was enjoyable too.

    Maiden, missed you! See my mother in the mirror a lot since cancer treatment as well. For me, it's comforting; since Mom is in Heaven. Thinking of you and your son - mine (almost 21) will be home for the summer!! (not since summer 2012) Treasure your time.

    Teka, all those pics just keep me smiling. No flowers here yet -- still about 1' of snow in yard, slowly melting.

    Bippy, Friends are the best. Mixing friends and wine, even better :) How is the QuickBooks treating you?

    Sally, no worries, I like hearing about your Spring. It makes me feel more certain that ours is coming! (more snow forecast this coming weekend, but I embrace that -- hoping we'll break the record for snowiest winter ever -- just 2" needed)

    My pathology report from oophorectomy and biopsy all fine! Endometriosis found on biopsy should resolve on its own now that ovaries are out! I feel less stuck :) April 1st I start Aromasin. (drop Tamoxifen)

    That's good news Daisy!  :)   When I had my hysterectomy in 2011 they found endometriosis but they left my ovaries in as I was still in my thirties.  Now I have to worry will they go bad too?  I get a lot of cysts but they never do much about them.  They did remove a large one once but it was nothing.  

    I had my stitches taken out today.  Hopefully things will settle down and I won't need any revisions.   Trying to come to terms with these new boobs.  The PS says they look really good but I can't help but compare them to what they used to look like.  I guess I'll get used to them eventually.  I think getting 3D tattooing will make them look more normal but that may be months down the road if at all.  

    It has been so beautiful out, it makes getting exercise so much easier.  I'm so sick of lugging these extra lbs around.  Hopefully they'll start melting away.

    Maiden, I am relieved to have my ovaries gone - just one less thing to worry about :) The surgeon said that they found ruptured cysts in my ovaries... no matter now :) I have not had reconstruction, but you sound to me like you are recovering well. I am still considering the possibility. So, Wisconsin is having lovely weather? Still snow everywhere here! You go melt away those pounds! Nice to hear from you.

    hey gals, sorry I haven't been on in a few days, been kind of busy here. Had a good appointment with MO yesterday. She agreed to wait to see what the upcoming CT Scan shows before discussing treatment schedule again. If the scan shows everything is stable, then she will just monitor me. If it shows that there is progression, then I will go back on the meds.

    This week got even better yesterday. Went to my plastic surgeon's appointment yesterday as it was supposed to be a fill day, but she saw there are two areas where the skin is a bit thin and so she didn't do the fills. As much as I was disappointed by it, the appointment just got better. She decided to end the filling process and to do the surgery to remove the expanders and put the permanent implants in. I was thrilled over this and so was hubby. She wants me to see my breast surgeon to see if there is anymore fluid lurking in there and if there is to have it removed, was supposed to go today but I couldn't get a ride from my usual sources and so hubby emailed his boss when we got home explaining the situation and that this would most likely be the last time that he'd need to do this for a while, hasn't heard back so far. If hubby can't get the time today, I'll have to cancel today's appointment and try to get in next week.

    Got home to a message from my PS's office, so I called back to find out that the surgery was already scheduled for mid-April!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Mommy- great news! I hope you can get in for the apt today. Your husband's company sounds like they have been very good about letting him go when you need help and hope that is the case today. Let us know how it works out?

    Had to cancel today's appointment, hubby's boss said nope. Hubby works at a college and his boss acts like he has to be there 24/7 to cover for everyone else in his department! I was able to re-schedule it and have a ride from one of the neighborhood ladies who have been really kind to me and helping with rides for appointments. Just thrilled to see the end is in sight as far as the surgeries!

    Mommy- perhaps husband's boss not as good. I have been in those types of jobs too, everyone else's whatever more important. Anyways, you are close to being done and do keep focused on that and the other person who will help you!

    Hubby's boss has been pretty good, but he can also be a total jerk! We've known this since he started there. The rest of the guys in hubby's department are the boss's "golden boys". Can't wait for the day when hubby can retire. Told him as he's walking out the door of the department on his final day of work he should play Johnny Paycheck's "Take This Job and Shove It"
