    So, I switched from Arimidex to Tamoxifen last July, after 5 years on Arimidex. I have just had an ultrasound that shows that my liver is enlarged. I have some abdominal bloating and a feeling of fullness, but no pain or anything. They were pretty certain that there is no sign of metastatic cancer. The radiologist said it was something he has seen before in women who had gone through breast cancer treatment, and a bit of googling brought up the fact that a fatty liver is a not uncommon SE from Tamoxifen.

    So I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this? Did you have to stop Tamoxifen? Did your liver go back to normal?

    Anyhow, my Dr is setting up an MRI and blood work for next week to elminate other things it could be. But any feedback would be much appreciated!!

    yes, fatty liver is very common side effect of tamox. I have it. Difusse fatty liver and hepatomegaly..or slight enlargement. Saw gastroenterologist and not to worry..liver enzymes slightly elevated is common sign along with slightly elevated cea markerbecause of slower liver clearance of cea.how are your enzymes. And cea..if your onc does it...

    Interesting about fatty liver - I was diagnosed with same after arimidex and aromasin but my PCP thought it was because I gained weight from those drugs - I have no other symptoms of liver problems but can't wait to talk to my PCP and "educate" her - all the cancer treatments I have had have added to my weight and I now eat less and exercise more than I ever have in my life and because I am 15 years plus out from menopause there is NO reason for this weight gain - grrrrrr!

    So very happy to see this topic! My liver counts have been elevated throughout chemo. They were coming back down, but are now increasing again. I am on Tamoxifen as well. I have also gained weight from all the treatments/medications this past year. My PCP feels it is fatty liver. Waiting for an ultrasound to be set up..
