Estrogen levels monitored during AI therapy?

Options

I've looked on the AI page here on bc.org and googled it as well and I can't seem to find this:

If AIs block estrogen production, do MOs monitor blood levels of estrogen on a regular basis to determine that it is working? Is there a pre-therapy level taken as a baseline?

What, if anything, is monitored while taking AIs to ensure the SEs aren't negatively impacting you without your knowledge: bone density for one I'm sure. What others?

Thanks!

My mo said there is no way to tell if the exemestane is working for me. They must be able to monitor estrogen levels in the blood but as far as killing the cancer cells they can't tell.

My MO only monitors bone density. I have never heard of them monitoring for estrogen levels. Nothing else is looked at, at least in my case besides the bone density and they also monitor liver function and calcium levels during a routine blood panel/screen.

my MO monitors estradiol levels. But I think this is more for checking efficacy of Zoladex than exemestane - I am in my 30s, so need to ensure ovarian suppression is working otherwise would need to switch back to tamoxifen..
