Mags- I think it is wonderful you two have reconnected. Good for both of you. You have both had a rough year and glad you have each other to talk to. A surprise blessing in the midst of all the rest.....
-
The power of we.....
-
Mags how did I miss that about u'r DS, I'm so happy or u to be able to really get to know each other, This is wonderful for you. I'm sure u'll make it a very special BD for him.
-
mags, that is amazing.
How all my NE hermettes?
I'm doing very well considering that today was treatment 15 out of 25 for radiation. I bring my tux Dunkin' Donuts valentine flavors with the sprinkles and they're my best friends. I'm a little pink in my armpit but that's it. Sleeping a lot and I think that's helping me tremendously.
-
Hi hermits- been pushing to get the house in a ready state for cleaning for my monthly cleaning by the cleaning company. I have made good progress and don't have as many piles/stuff anymore, but had to do some clearing/consolidation since yesterday to have floors, countertops, etc. clear enough for the cleaning.
I still have a lot of dust from the flooring done here a couple weeks ago so I need these ladies in here today to do their thing so this house gets a bit more dust free! I have a car full of stuff to go again, to the shelter, Habitat ReStore and another smaller trip to consignment. I am almost done, and very tired of this house right about now!
Hoping everyone is having a good end to the week, whether with work, end of another week of rads, or anything else you are doing.

Onco- sorry to hear about what has happened as you come of the lorazepam. Feel better.
-
Good Morning Ladies.
Oh Onco I'm so sorry about u'r meds, but I'm glad u shared it with all of us. It's always good to know. I hope this ends soon for you and u start feeling better ASAP.
Wow Jazzy u've got it all pretty together for all the work that has been done, pics Missy pics.
And Mags we want to hear about u'r son's BD party too--I was so filled with happiness for u, u deserve it.
Blondie I don't know if I mentioned u'r purple hair? I love it--remember a few yrs back I wanted to do my hair purple and my DD thought I was crazy--and now so many are doing it. All I have are the chalk colors and I do use those. U r adorable

Well, gals, sorry to disappoint, but it wasn't a huge celebration, we went out to dinner at a place nearby, the food was decent, local beer, then home, some time to digest, then the cake, which was the highlight. Beautiful one layer 8" Italian Cream Cake, and the bakery did a great job of personalizing the happy birthday. Add a sparkler candle (DH decreed just one) and 3 of us singing happy birthday. Add a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream from our local dairy, and though humble, the celebration was appreciated. He even took a picture of the cake.
Don't know when I'll see him again. But it's ok, after 35 years without him, I'll take what I can get.
-
By the way, Cymbalta is just as bad, if not worse, than lorazepam to come off. I thought I'd die, and if I didn't, I'd have been happy to be shot.
-
Mags- sounds like a nice evening with your son! Cake sounded beautiful too. Hope you can rest today after such a busy week.
-
Hope everyone stays safe in all the storms outside and the
storms of life. God bless you and please be good to yourselfs
Very wet here in Washington.
-
Good Morning Ladies.
Foot that was such a sweet post.
Mags I'm sure u think it was just OK, but u'r son thought it was great. U sound a little down right now. Maybe cuz he left for now, but it will be fine. Especially cuz he took a pic. He was happy. Just make sure u rest up now.
Last I heard we were supposed to get snow today or tonite.--Just pile it on now, it won't make much difference.
Well my sister is retiring officially June of this year, she'll be 76, stage IV for quite a few years now but all her grandchildren are all older so she has to be with my BIL all day--Oy vey--this is a big change for her. She's not like me at all, she has to be busy so I'm wondering how she's going to handle all this--we'll see. LOL
I hope everyone has a good day.
-
Drain levels werre down to 36cc's in the left and 30 in the right. Forgot if the 30 cc level is required in both sides for removal or has to be the total for removal.
-
Mo I'm sure someone will have an answer, I just remember writing it down 4 times a day but have no idea what I was even looking for then. I hope they come out soon and it's amazing when they come out and u see how much was in there and taking it out didn't even hurt. I'm sure they will come out soon,
-
Been writing it down and then transferring the information to an Excel spreadsheet. Have found that giving the area a gentle massage has helped.
-
Mo u are organized, I'd give my Doc a wrinkled little piece of torn paper. well I saw him 2x a week then and he'd have to figure it out. LOL Maybe that's why he let those things stay in or 3 months, he was probably hating me.
-
Good morning hermits- I hope those getting snow won't get too much today. Enough of the white stuff already in places that have no place to put it anymore!
I went out to a mardi gras fund raiser last night and had the best time. End up sitting next to a friend and her husband I have not seen in a long time. Because of the masks, we did not even recognize each other until we started talking, and then immediately knew each others voices. Then we were inseparable the rest of the night. Good music, good friends, good food, some dancing, and more.
Cami- I hope your sister can relax and enjoy her retirement. I know my sister will be very much the same way. You think I am busy? Take me squared and you have my busy sister.
Mo- those drains are going to come out soon, I just know it.
-
Hubby and I have that feeling to Jazzy. He thinks by week's end!
-
Aloe vera blooming in the middle of winter. The plant must like the sunny spot in the dining room area.
-
Just to say hi, moved in to my new house, the night it snowed (and we are really close to the sea!) so first night was a cold one!!! But place feels cleaner and brighter and I have had a few good friends supporting me so my focus is on nesting, I am ignoring health stuff right now! But I have to say I still seriously struggle with my body........it pops up and I push it back down.................but its getting more persistent.
Footprints - are you able to breathe more easily now?
Mags - how wonderful you reconnected with your son...........
Freezing here, sitting wrapped in blanket and outdoor coat next to elec fire......
Sorry I have lost track of what is going on, I am utterly exhausted........but its a moving forward exhaustion.
I need to start work on my project soon, can I be cheeky and please ask you to brainstorm names - the focus is on reconnecting to life, energy, people, nature etc........re-building. recovery, moving forward etc all sound too judgemental and as though there are expectations, I want this to be a space to be to process whatever you need to process post cancer or other debilitating medical treatments, but need a website.......hence need for a good name...........I need to start earning some money.
-
Output from drains dropped into the 20s last night and stayed in that range overnight. Taking this as a good sign!
-
I might suggest this, most cities in the US have organizations to help people starting something up, a business, an event, etc. They can provide the resources to you to help with getting something set up from a web site to a marketing plan for your event. Usually for little $$ or some things are even free. Small Business Association (SBA) is one such organization. If you were here in the US, I will direct you to start with the SBA.
You need to find something similar in your area for what you are trying to do. They are probably the right people to help you get things set up and create a marketing plan to get people to your event. They will know any local nuances you need to be aware of from certifications, to licensing, to taxes, etc. Start googling small business assistance or the like in your area to see what resources there are and make an apt to go see them.
Mommy- good news on the drains, those suckers are going to be coming out this week I think!
-
If it stays into the level its in now, I'll be putting in a call tommorrow to the PS about making an appointment to get 'em out
-
-
Thank you Jazzy and Onco........I need to find a suitable name before I can move on to web stuff ,.......and I am stuck on that as its not really a retreat.........but first I need to get some furniture as there is very little here......not even proper beds, but its cheap rent as it is not fully furnished and cos it needs maintenance so I am quite happy with that, its just right now we have our coldest winter days for years, wind howls through here and I am cold and got sick on night 2 here.....ecven the cats are cuddling up to the dogs for warmth! Everything feels like an enormous effort.............well in fact it is! I think I am coping fine but I do feel very down today.................
-
Output is still in the 20s this morning. Forgot I had an appointment for today until hubby mentioned it yesterday afternoon, called my usual rides but no one was available. So I'm going to cancel the appointment and let them know that the readings have been in the 20s since Sunday night and make a new appointment. Hoping I'll be able to arrange a ride or hubby will have to talk to his boss about his getting out of work early to take me.
-
Lilly- I am glad you are in your new place, but it sounds cold there. Perhaps you need a bit of time to settle in there, get some furniture, etc. and create the space you want. Hard to do in the midst of the cold, cold winter. I hope you feel better, it a lot to move and you are coming out of the relationship too so be patient with yourself. I am glad you have the pets with you.
So not a retreat, but perhaps refuge or sanctuary?
Mommy-sorry you were not able to get to the apt, but hopefully you can get something rescheduled and find a ride. I know you want those drains out.
Mags and Bippy- how are rads going this week. Week #4 for you both I believe....
Got some tax things and biz development work to do today so have a good Tuesday everyone.
-
Sanctuary. That has a solid ring to it, Jazzy.
Today will be #19 for me. Still no skin issues, just the swallowing problem. I have developed some eczema in the inner elbows, doc says that's not unusual post-chemo. I had eczema as a child, but haven't had anything this bad since.
Fatigue is catching up to me; even though I have chronic fatigue to start with, it's so much worse. Went to bed at 9 last night, unheard of for this insomniac. Couldn't keep my eyes open all afternoon and evening after tx.
-
Got a new appointment but it looks like at this point hubby is going to have to do it. Ah well, it'll be worth all the hassle when they finally come out!
