Tamoxifen & Effexor

is anyone taking Effexor while on Tamoxifen? Does the Effexor help with anxiety?

    Hi MD - many of us take Effexor with Tamoxifen. It helps with hot flashes and it evens out my moods. I've found that the 37.5 mg is enough for me on a day to day basis. I still have dark times but I get over them pretty soon. Good luck! Anxiety sucks!

    Hi MD- I take Tamoxifen and Effexor 75 milligrams. Haven't had any hot flashes yet :-) I was taking Lexapro when I was first diagnosed because I was having bad anxiety and panic attacks. I have diagnosed Generalized Anxiety Disorder but have not taken meds for 9 years. The stress of the diagnosis brought about I pretty dark period for me so I started taking again. I switched to Effexor after I started Tamoxifen because I was told it wouldn't counter effect the Tamoxifen like some anti depressants/ anti anxiety meds can.
