Good morning friends!
Nice sweater Susan

Sassy, I'm worried about you ((hugs))
It's funny, do you ever talk to your dh or people about the people on BCO? I was about to tell dh about Sassy and I realized that he had no idea who I was talking about lol.
Rose, I can only imagine how hard it was to see your mom in that state.

I'm going for genetic counseling this week and having a vaginal u/s. weeeeee!! haha, the vag u/s is not nearly as fun as it sounds.
xxoo

Just starting to snow here. Very light flakage, like you would see with a flurry or a snow shower! Snowmaggedon begins! lol
-
Chevy, I can't believe what you went through to get to page 180! There's an easier way – just click on the line at the top that tells you where you are - the URL. At the very end it says "page=" and the page number. Just select the page number and replace it with the number of the page you want to go to, and hit return. You will go to that page. Easy peasy.
Susan, beautiful sweater! I could never get the hang of knitting! But when I lived in Maine in another lifetime, an old lobsterman's wife taught me how to crochet fancy doilies, and I loved doing that on long winter nights.
Dunes, about your onion smell. I had a weird thing a couple years ago. I craved ice chips. I would go through glass after glass of them. Finally found out that is a symptom of low iron! Had iron checked, sure enough it was low enough I had to have iron infusions in addition to supplements. No problems since then. Don't know about onions though, but I do know how to get the smell off your hands after slicing them. Run your hands over a stainless steel faucet (or something else stainless steel). Takes the smell right off.
And do you know (while I'm on helpful kitchen hints) how to keep your guacamole from turning brown, the easy way? Leave the pit in the bowl. Learned that from a Mexican gal.
I got nothing else, back to the torture chamber in 3 hours. New driver today, a guy. The drivers have been a bright spot.
Hubby took cousin & me to Charleston's for dinner last night, and by the time I got home I hit the wall. In bed before 7, but couldn't get to sleep until after midnight. Even with a whole Percocet. This sucks big time. Four more weeks. My son arrives Thursday to spend a night with us before going home. In town on business.

didn't get to finish reading everybody. Off to dmv, wish me luck

Good morning again- back from my trip to the MO's office and my Prolia shot. Things were anything but efficient there this morning, but I got done and on my way, and hit Staples for some home office and organization supplies and one of the new "flat white" coffees at the nearby Starbucks.
Nurse told me I may have some flu-like symptoms this week from this shot, some people have it, others have nothing. She said if it happens, it will show up in the next few days but I could experience something as soon as tonight. So I am going to lay low today and just do things around home and maybe an end of the day walk. She said the folks with the infused version of this for bone mets usually have bigger symptoms afterwards.
Oh, and if any of you are trying to decide about doing this or not, I started a Prolia thread a couple weeks ago to find out folks experiences so come on over if you need to! We talk about a lot of things there now related to bone health. Got lots of good feedback and info from the gals there.
Mags- I am going to start counting down with you to the end of this rads stuff. I hope you are feeling well enough today to continue.
Mommy- be careful with the snow. I heard the term on the Today Show today "bombogenesis" which is a cyclonic storm with a rapid barometric drop as it moves off shore, creating all that snow. I took a meteorology class in college and never heard that one. Maybe it should be Bombagendon?
Sas- keep us posted on thing as you find out. Praying for good outcomes here.
Time to get to some things around home. Wishing everyone a good day.
-
As of noon they were forecasting at least 28 inches if not more for me
-
I hate snow.
-
Oh how would YOU know Spookie? Hunh? You don't even know what snow is!
And MAGS!!!!!!!!!!! You are a genius! I always wanted an easier way to do that! And as soon as I figured out what URL was, it was easier! Don't tell Cammi.... she will be lost. And don't telll ANYbody I didn't know that.... I just did it the old fashioned way.... The "Ican'tbelievesheDIDthat" way..
-
This is a snow-storm....

Any more questions Spookie? Now go take a picture of your thermometer....
-
These are probably what I'll see from this storm lol
-
Chevy- LMAO over here. I know that Denver gets it like no other. OMG with that car at 90 degrees!
I knew everyone would get on Spookie for that photo too!
I like snow, just not feet of it.
-
I make her do it! It's like I dare her... Ha! Yes.... we get our snow.... It's okay if it snows, and then the sun shines the next day.... I just don't like the frigid temps, and the COLD!
Yes Mom2.... They keep talking aout what Connecticut will get! I have to go sit on the heating pad...
SOMEhow my right butt bones hurt! I don't know how, or why... so I took 2 aleve, and then I won't talk about the PITA anymore. Damndest thing! I mean it's like when we used to go to those Hockey Games, when the boys played, and we froze our butts off on those ice cold wooden benches!
And that's all my news...... except it's nice here.... but I won't brag about it like SOME people we know.....
just watch her post again......
-
Nice here too Chevy- all clear in the west today it seems.
Sorry east coast peeps.
-
M0mmyof2, cool beans about you having relatives in Westminster. How that place has grown!!! It used to be a little hick town. No more.
Good luck with this ugly sounding snow. Are they still saying it is supposed to break all records? That's for NY anyway. I can't imagine. Where do they put the snow in NY? At this point they are calling for us to have about 6 inches by morning. I was planning to leave for the airport around 5:30, but I think we will be leaving earlier (or not at all). I just hope, if they are going to cancel the flight, they cancel it before I drop her off. Poor mom refuses to own a cell phone. What a mess it will be trying to get back there and find her. I also pray she'll be safe. I think it is better south of us, so all should be well.
-
Yup, chevy makes me do it. She gets her pole after me.
But she also forgets I'm originally from Ohio. So I'm allowed to hate snow.
Sometimes I think all that cold, and chocolate cokes have frozen her brain, not her butt
-
ok, all dmv wanted was my money, take a new pic and take an eye exam. Haven't taken a written test in years!
How does a car end up on its nose? Don't like cold weather and you couldn't pay me enough to live where itsnows.
We broke a record, only .01 inches of rain for January. It's going to be brutal here if we don't get some soon. They already closed some ski resorts.
-
Cars end up in ditches, backwards, and on their noses because their dumbs$it drivers don't think before they drive. Rules don't apply. Speed limit? Common sense? Out the window,
Last year Atlanta got an inch or so. The whole city shut down, interstates too. The rest of snow country was ROFLMAO.
Pathetic really.
-
The way its going we probably will see a record snowfall here. The blizzard we had two years ago, one town had 40 inches! Hope its not going to be that much!!!!!!
-
I have put a few cars in ditches in my day and rolled a car on black ice too and walked away. I consider myself very lucky on the later.
-
For all the ladies waiting on the storm, I hope you can hunker down, stay warm, and pay someone to shovel the snow away! I'm west of Cleveland and the Lake is frozen here, and we have very little snow. We have been very lucky this year. Stay warm, be safe, and I hope it isn't as bad as they say!!
-
And he thinks he is going somewhere....

Yes! Idiots! I've been behind people who would not clean their cars off.... Only the windshield.... And driving on the highway, causes a one man blizzard!

-
wow ladies great pictures and I know how they feel, it's brutal. We ll get the snow by Wednesday but it's just so cold here

This was this morning from my livinroom

And I was frozen by the time the train arrived lol
Hope you all have a great evening, Chevy you always put a smile on my face
Sending you all hugs
Susan here is one picture, I ll try to find one of her wearing it lol never again too much work

-
enerva, that is gorgeous ...you are very talented

-
snowing at a pretty good clip here right now. The governor got smart and ordered a travel ban as of 9 pm and at the same time he closed all colleges that are under the state control. Hubby is off tommorrow! He might even be off Wed. depending on how fast the clean up goes!
-
Hi folks- feeling a bit achy tonight, but nothing I cannot deal with.
I watched the evening news and how the east coast is really preparing for this storm. Someone I know who lives in Wyoming was going on about how the east coast was making too big a deal about this storm. But having been back there in blizzards, I know that is probably not true. After Hurricane Sandy, they take very big storm very seriously back there now, right? Hope everyone is home and safe, and has water and power, and lots of good food to eat!
Enerva- it even looks cold through that window. I hope you are home and snuggled up and warm now. You are very talented.
Chevy- the photos just keep cracking me up!

Are you Owlettes on SPEED? Three pages in <24 hours? ROTFLOL (page 701)
Susan lovely sweater. Likely to last for a couple of centuries with stories of "Susan the Remarkable ", passed on generation to generation.

Only joking about the pain med. I've been off them for 8 months now. Still have pain, but it's my old post polio pain. The pain meds came with the AI pain. That's basically gone now.
Dunes, I so dislike Xanax. Wish you could get another drug. But good luck, what ever works. Talk with your doc about changing the Oxycontin dose. If you are taking 6 oxycodone for breakthrough each day. It's saying you may need to move up to the next dose of oxycontin. Yes, very important to take every twelve hours. Keeps the blood level steady.
What's it going to mean if the cockatiel starts mimicking the parakeet? Will that get the parakeets tweeting more? Cacaphony?Jazzy, the whole weight thing is a question? hah found a fabulous new restaurant tonight. Gourmet dining without gourmet prices. I smiled all the way home. LOL you were worried about keeping up. These Owls go in spurts. Hooting then kinda quiet. Then off they go again

Patty what's the report from the pain doc??????????????/
Wren for me no question stress has been a factor. I was hoping to see a change once the thyroid levels finally got adjusted. I have noticed less of the constant middle of the frontal area headache with the TH meds. Yes, the weight settled right in the midsection and on the upper arms. UGLY!

Hello ladies. Sorry I have been MIA
I have been reading and trying to catch up- had a busy week last week, but got some terrible news today.
Camms- I am very, very sorry for your loss.
Sas- fingers and toes crossed for you.
Blondie- sending love and healing to you.
I will be out of touch for a while, I may lurk, but probably wont be posting. My DBF's mother killed herself this morning, and I just have to focus on taking care of him, and myself.
It is very hard to wrap my head around suicide, considering how hard i had to fight to stay alive. Even before that, in the depths of some serious depression, when it crossed my mind, I always knew how much it hurt those left behind, and could never do it.
Please, if you, or someone you know is in a mental crisis, get help. It is there, people love you, professionals can get you on the path to wellness.
I love you all very much. Please take care of yourselves.

Page 702
Jazzy, Sgt peppers Lonely Hearts Club band.
Enerva, So happy you survived your MO. What a jerk. All the protocols call for f/u to evaluate changes. Was this error a Canadian health care problem or an individual doc problem? Cute little owl

Chevy the bike guy. Yeah can't think of his name. Testicular cancer. "LIVE STRONG". Blood doping. Cheated lots. Bad guy.
LOL about standing up to the wall I so get that. It's like, why is that wall there? Naw we don't have to think about obesity , let's just enjoy it. I agree stuff just happens. When it's our time to go then it is. Yes, it was page 180 that we kind of all slipped over here.
Yup we are straight all fixed. Upside, downside, inside, outside. Cami's boat LOL UpACreek
Oh Dunes forgot the onion thing. Once I get all these doc appointments squared around i'll look at it. Sure the onion smell was just on the hands. Not everywhere. everywhere is a completely different scenario that just one place.
Rosie sorry about your Mom.

Jazzy thanks. I spout off on science stuff and research stuff and mostly people ignore me. But it would be interesting to see if there were a correlation.
Dutchy, your tumor couldn't be seen by MRI or mammo? Was there any speculation as to why?
Mommy good one"Mother Nature must be off her meds again " hven't heard that one before LOL
Yay spookie in with the weather report. Chevy I thought the same thing Feels like:62.6 what?
Oh Tang Thank you, but really I'm good. I had my meltdown the night I got the call. But now up and running getting things in a row. See GU doc Feb 2nd, first visit and he's going to do a cysto the same day. Within a minute of the scope going in, I'll know how much trouble I'm in. That's good. Quick. Feb 3rd, GI doc. Can't schedule BigWig Moffitt doc till the other two are done b/c it'll take several days in Tampa. ...........I know what you are saying about our family here. We know each other like family, yet our family doesn't know. But when the holidays come. I think of folks here and want to say Happy______! and hugs. And I feel warm seeing everyone here.

Wooooo Mags have fun with DS. jazzy has a good idea countdown to the end of rads. LOL about telling that silly Chevy how to do the page thingy.
Mommy CHIT 28 inches?
