Happy New Year! May it be healthy, happy and fun for us all! (or at least parts of it)

Sorry about the flu, kathy. Hope you are feeling better now.

lol chrissy, I was like but you just went to NZ last week what is she saying last year?

I had another trip to the dentist today. He had to take the crown off that was just put on in Sept. and do a root canal and fill a cavity then put a new crown back on. The stupid nerve would not go numb. He called it a hot tooth. This was the second tooth like this, the one in between was a normal tooth and I didn't feel it after getting lots of novacaine. I was glad there wasn't anyone else in the office cause I was making some noise. It took from 10 am until 12:30. They felt so bad, but all I felt was the pain. Anyway, he has this cool machine that mills the new crown right in the office from some pictures he takes of the tooth after he finishes the root canal. So therefore I did not have to get a temporary crown or go back to see him unless there are more problems. He just popped the new crown on and I was outta there. I came home and slept for 3 hours. Now I'm awake....... It is just sore from where the work was done, not the achyness of the nerve dying. I think I have learned my lesson about waiting too long to get my teeth worked on. What's that saying about old dogs learning new tricks?

My energy level and general all round well being has improved just from getting my mouth taken care of. When they say the head bone is connected to the neck bone and all the rest "they" are not kidding.

Yup Nancy time sure does fly!! I'm going to Cairns for the middle two weeks of March and when I booked the flights it was six months away. Now, I was thinking about it the other day and really it is now only eight weeks away!!! I can't believe how quickly time goes by......it seems that the older you get the quicker time passes and it's just not right!....lol.

Bummer about the 'hot tooth'.......but girl, I'm bending down in awe of you being able to sit in the dentist chair and go through with that root canal!!........I would have been outa there quicker than a flash the second he headed for me with a syringe never mind anything else!!!!! I am just so petrified of dentists and no matter how hard I try, I just can't get past it. So glad you were able to go through it all and your mouth is feeling so much better.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi everyone, and Happy New. year! I, for one, and hoping 2015 is better than 2014. Being the "eternal optimist", am already facing two new challenges: 1. My port has to be replaced, can't get rid of infection. The good news, I can quit the antibiotics which are tearing up my stomach. 2. I am having a colostomy, in spite of the surgery being risky, I have peritoneal mets. Good news here, also. I should be able to get off liquid diet and eat normally.

Trying to stay positive is a challenge, but that's the way I handle things. I know I can get through this, with your help and support. Praying for everyone as they get over hurdles, too! Wilsi

When I get older losing my hair
    Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a valentine
    Birthday greetings, bottle of wine?

If I'd been out till quarter to three
    Would you lock the door?
    Will you still need me
    Will you still feed me

    WHEN I'M SIXTY-FOUR.

So, I need an answer. My DS (the one in culinary school) said Yes. Whew.

I know that when that song came out 64 seemed so old. Have passed that now and can't believe I am officially a senior citizen.

    Have a great birthday Leah.

Wow Chrissy, the south of France!! What a dear your DH must be to surprise you like this! I'm so excited for you too and am already imagining the pictures you'll take. I love the picture Alyson posted---Alyson looks so serious and you look like you're about to dissolve into a giggling fit!

Happy Birthday Leah! I loved that song too, but it used to be a lot funnier than it is now!

Wilsi, I know you've thought long and hard about the procedures you're having and I hope they'll help you. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers and I hope all goes well.

    Hello everyone!

Been awhile since I've been on here. Lots going on in my life. Went to our youngest daughter's college graduation. Also helped her and her hubby move out of their apartment. She gave us the good news that they are expecting their first baby! That will be grandchild #13 for us. :) Then we headed back east for the holidays to visit family. Got to see our son that recently returned from deployment in November. We had a huge gang at my MIL's little home! Our son, his wife and 3 kids, plus our daughter, her hubby and their 3! My nephew came with his wife and their new baby too. We had a great time.

Started this year off with a mammo and ultrasound yesturday. Both came out ok. Was told I need to repeat in 6 months just to check some calcifications. Saw my BS today and he removed my port. I'm pretty sore from that, I think because he had to basically dig it out because of scar tissue. He shot me up with lots of numbing stuff tho! I feel so free having that thing gone! Next month I see my MO and get a CT scan. Also, acupuncture has helped tremendously with my neuropathy. My hands are about 90% normal. Feet still have a way to go, but I can feel all my toes now! Haha!

Leah, Happy Birthday!!!! I always liked that song! In 2 years I will be there too. :)

Wilsi, I sure hope you will be feeling better after your procedures. I will keep you in my prayers.

Chrissy, I hope you don't need anymore anti B 's. They always mess with my tummy. Love the photo of you and Aly!

    Lisa, beautiful flowers!!!

Mac, sure hope all your tooth problems are over!

I'm sure there's more that I've missed, but I dare not try to go back! Wishing you all a great new year!

    Hugs, lilyrose

    Happy Birthday, Leah!!

Chrissy, exciting news about hubby getting ready to break out of his comfort zone.

I love that pic of chrissy and aly. Aly is probably telling someone how to take the picture.

I, too, hope I am all done with tooth problems. It is still sore but sooo much better.

lily, your year sounds like it is off to a great start. New grandbaby news and time spent with family is just what you needed! And you got those pesky tests out of the way. I am glad the acupuncture is working for you. I love it (even tho it is so weird having needles stuck in you)

wilsie, good for you making the hard decisions and moving forward. Let us know how we can help!

lucy, welcome, you fit right in. It seems like you already have friends here.

I am having to make lots of decisions about interior decor right now. It's funny how I start getting worried about making a "wrong" decision, when in the grand scheme of things this is small potatoes. I have to stop and remind myself that this is fun!

Leah Happy Birthday! I too love that tune!

Macatac I had a proceedure once where they were working on a lower center tooth and the pain was going up my nostril!!!! Crazy, they gave me an injection in the very back of my mouth. You certainly are very brave to continue on with the proceedure. I am a poor patient, from the time before flouride. I have a mouth of crowns and bridges. The dentist tells me I need to have my teeth removed because all the gatorade I drank destroyed them. I know I can get implants but am afraid to begin the process, plus it is so expensive. A friend has recently gone through a one year process to have both top and bottom false teeth. I am being stubborn and vane in not proceeding, also honestly, very afraid. If my teeth looked bad it would be motivating, but they look normal.

    Chrissie, France, how wonderful!

Wilsie, I hope your proceedure allows you to go back to eating. I am sure you would enjoy that. Sending you gentle hugs Ginger

Slowly getting better from the flu, but still a long way from being fully recovered. Today I got my drivers' license renewed, which was the sum total of my activity. It expires the 17th and I felt like getting it over with.

It's been so quiet here! Where is everyone? Except Chrissy--We know she's out shopping for clothes to wear in France!

    Hi girls!!

I have been flat out with grandsons! Last week it was my youngest (16) and this week it is the next one up the ladder (17) and his friend. He has his driver learners permit so we have been out every day driving.....lol. I must admit that he's doing pretty good at it! Besides eating me out of house and home they are out trying to hunt rabbits with their bow and arrows. I must say, in that pursuit they are not having much luck...............go bunnies!!! I think I will be very tired by the time they go home on Sunday......lol.....but I really do love having them here.

Lol Kathy, not organizing for France just yet but once the boys go home I certainly will be starting to get organized for my trip to Cairns in March! Glad you are finally starting to recover from your flue.....it's a hard virus to get rid of for sure.

Lisa, love, love, love your bird pics!!

Oh, the boys are back from their night hunting over at the old mine and it seems they have been successful but this time it was a poor roo (kangaroo) so now comes the icky part of having to divide the meat and pack it ready for freezing. Must go as I really want to keep an eye on what's happening in my kitchen.

Love n hugs to all!! Chrissy

Chrissy, is it true, i have always been curious. somebody told me once that kangaroo means "i don't know". like, someone kept asking a bushman what that animal was, and they kept saying kangaroo. and then somebody else found out later that they were saying "I don't know!!". or was somebody just pulling both my legs?

Chrissy...Glad you are enjoying your time with the grandsons.. HaHa.. I can imagine that you would feel your being eaten out of house and home ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Teenage boys sure can eat. !! Hmm..not sure if I would want my freezer full of kangaroo either ..HaHa .I know lots of people love it though ..My hubby's grandfather used to cook up kangeroo tail soup , and thought it was the bees knees !!

Tomboy ..You sent me running to google and Wikipedia and yep ..You are right ..HaHa ..I'm a true blue Aussie and never heard that story before ..Apparently up until the 1970 ' s the story went that Captain Cook and Banks were asked the natives what they were and when they answered Kangeroo ( meaning I dont know ) they thought it was the name of the animal ..That' s a great story ..I love it ..BUT ..then in the 1970's a linguist came along and spoilt things by saying it wasn't true . BOO ..HaHa .while I was reading your post I thought someone had pulled BOTH your legs ๐Ÿ˜€

what a great pic, lisa! caught in action.

I saw a small flock of eastern bluebirds at my suet feeder this morning. They were so cute! Of course, I didn't get a picture. I still don't know where my phone is......

My DD got me for Christmas, a sticknfind. It is these little coin like sticker things that I should be able to program my cell phone to find them. But what happens when I can't find my phone? I haven't even figured out how to set the program up. sheesh!

Lisa the pelican shot is wonderful.

No rainhere so the flowers are struggling and the garden doesn't look so good but do have some lovely gladioli coming out.

Need to get out and do some weeding but my RA is really playing up and it is difficult to even walk and the pain is terrible. However the sun is out and it is lovely.

    big hugs..
