Oncotype 6. Anyone else low score & taking Tamoxifen?

Anyone else have a low (mine was a 6) oncotype score that is just doing Tamox to start???

    Hi MamaDarrling,


    My onco score was 7 , my oncologist did not recommended chemo , only Tamoxifen as follow up treatment. My dx was mostly DCIS ( nearly 6 cm) with 2 mm IDC (grade 1) after surgical pathology.

    My score wasn't as low as yours but was still in low range at 17. Chemo was not recommended for me and I started tamoxifen in November.

    Even though my tumor was larger (3cm) and my age was on the younger side (46), with a score of 8 chemo was not recommended. I had a UMX with reconstruction and am only taking Tamoxifen for follow up treatment.

    My score was an 8, i have been on tamoxifen for about 4 and 1/2 years. I would not say that the side affects are always easy, but i have plugged through them. I was about 98% Er Pr +.

    I for sure will finish the 5 years, my doctor will tell me if he thinks I would benefit from 10 years. I had a Lumpectomy followed by radiation.
