Trip to see Vinnie

I am done! Just got back from my trip to Maryland. Anyone on the fence about having Paul Bessette do their tats, fear no more! His work is amazing, as is he! I think my tat looks better than my spared nipple. I am happy to be his "first pin from someplace else" on the map of travels hanging in Vinnie's shop! Paul - hope you are reading this and know you have changed my life forever - the smile has not left my face since I left the shop. Trent - thanks for your help as well! Ladies - call and book with Paul; you will not be disappointed! Vinnie (though I am sorry I did not get to meet him that day) knows his stuff and picked his team well!
-
Congratulations, BayouBabe!!!!
-
so glad to hear of your success BayouBabe - and I am sure that Vinnie wouldn't have cut him lose to do the tats if he wasn't up to it! Woo hoo you are done! It's been over 6 months for me and I'm still amazing all the people who see mine. Although mostly it's medical profession
-
Thanks Blessings and Catie! Still can't believe I'm finished. I keep flashing myself every time I am in my bathroom at home. Can't help myself! I look so 'normal', like the old me I remember from before BC.
-
BayouBabe - Congrats on the tat's. I can only imagine what it feels like to look in the mirror and say " Welcome back! lol I scheduled my first of two FG surgeries, for Dec 11. I must try to get two surgeries in before my tat's in May. I'm seeing the light through the tunnel, its just taking longer to get through. . Patience is so not me, but this whole journey has definitely taught me that.
-
notadaygoesby - thanks! Good luck on the fat grafting! You will look like you got hit by a truck, but it is so worth it. Had two rounds myself and so glad I did. Hang in there - you have the end in sight!

I am headed to Baltimore tomorrow to see Vinnie. My appointment is at 3:00. My husband and I leave Minneapolis at 7 AM and will be on our way to Finksburg. I am a bit nervous but excited. Will be glad to have it over and spend a few days vacationing.
-
Good luck julieped.
-
Good luck Julieped! I live up in Duluth and am going for my exchange on December the 17th. So I have sometime to wait before I get to the tattoo stage but would love to "go see Vinnie". When did you make your appointment to get in now? I will be thinking about you and hope it goes smoothly and that you also have a nice time there in Finksburg! Keep us posted!

lilivesay - Thanks for the good wishes. I think I made my appt. about 7 months ago and I got one of the last ones. I will let you know how it goes. Good luck with your exchange. You will be happy to have that done.
-
julieped thinking about you and hoping things went great! Thank you! -
I returned from my visit to see Vinnie. He does really good work. My appt. was on Wednesday at 3 PM and I was done in about an hour. Not much to do in Finksburg but I would recommend a meal at The Full Moon. Fun place and good food. I was a bit sore for a couple of days but am now feeling a bit better. I am so glad I went to see him. He does amazing nipple tattoos. He is an interesting man and very kind.
Spent the rest of the time visiting Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C. We saw lots of sites.
I highly recommend Vinnie!
-
Yay, julieped! It is amazing what a little tattooed spot can do to one's mental healing., isn't it? That little tattoo shop in Finksburg with Vinnie, Paul, and Trent is an amazing place!
-
so glad it went well Julieped! Thank you for the info I will look forward to a trip to see Vinnie and crew in the future!
-

I am 2 weeks out from my tattoo with Trent in MD location - it was a great experience. I was pretty worried going into it and he walked me through every step, answered my questions and adjusted as needed. It really makes the breast look like a breast now. Even my daughter likes them...although she keeps calling them stamps for good behavior. It was a 8 hr drive there and back so that kind of sucked. We stayed at the hilton and I would recommend the hampton inn since it comes with breakfast. The other crappy part is my insurance declined my out for in claim. I'm not surprised, they indicate it wasn't medically necessary...bastards.
I highly recommend Trent!
-
Jenjenl - make sure you resubmit the claim. Many have had to do this several times. I am waiting on my rejection as well, and am all ready to send the forms back in and fight it over the phone. Got my fingers crossed. Ugh - as if we haven't already wasted enough of our time on BC! Glad your trip went well. Trent was so kind when I was there for my appointment with Paul. Those guys rock!😎👍
-
Yeah I have submitted the claim but they basically said LVT is out of network I won't get anything - I met my 10k in network OOP but 0 of 10k out of network OOP. As always though I'm giving it a good fight...I'd sure like to get some back on the 800. It was totally worth it but I do think 800 is a lot considering the size/time/complexity of the tattoo compared to what you'd get for that amount for a different type (non nipple) of tattoo.
Again worth it, a great experience and way to close the journey. xo

I was supposed to see Vinnie in MD in October but had to reschedule. I was able to get an apt in New Orleans! So very excited--my apt is July 7th. I hope to have a day to explore--can anyone give me some tips on where to stay/things to do/yummy places to eat???
-
Mistyb -- we will be there at the same time! I am July 8th!
-
yeah!Trying to figure out where to stay. Lots of availability so there shouldn't be a problem. Have you ever been to NOLA? I haven't been before. Looking forward to good food and drink!
-
I have not! I hear they have special rates for people going to Vinnie at some hotels. I just don't know which ones yet!
We can plan our trip together! I am beyond excited.
