Thank you Jo for the Christmas Tree. Mine is somewhere in the closet upstairs.

Forgot - Good news - My PS sent all the tissue to pathology and saw the report online yesterday - No cancer seen. So I am still clear .. BTW, we weren't expecting a bad path, but it is good to know, nothing was hiding in there.

Good morning Goddesses! Thanks for the tree Joan. I hung a Santa on the front door yesterday but that's it for decorating this year. We're headed to MIL's house where all but one of her children & their constellations will gather. The one who isn't coming lives near Houston TX and usually visits in summertime. We'll have roast beef dinner tonight and ham tomorrow. My BIL works for Oscar Mayer and gets a free ham every year for Christmas. I've been baking and have a lovely assortment of cookies: rum balls, Christmas tree-shaped spritz, mini cherry cheesecake tarts, rugelach, and good old chocolate chip. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday ~ Merry Christmas! ♥
-
Awe, poor Stella. They should be able to get her regulated if it is epilepsy and she can still have a good long life! I have 9 cousins with epilepsy..
-
Badger... my paternal grandma made rum balls every year, never had any of hers...I was too young. From what I hear though and now have her recipe for them, she made them a bit on the strong side!

GMA......I have a daughter who had epilepsy...did not show till 19 years old.....got very serious,.....as many as 7 day.......she finally concented to brain surgey which was experimental.............
There was a tumor.......they removed it, and she is great at 55 years old, but the tumor had feeder cells which means she is watched...........
Epilepsy is scary to watch.........that is what they have to do with Stella...observe......and if they find a pattern she will be medicated..........ugh........

Beautiful picture.....my Great-Grandaugher in awe of the Christmas tree.....
-
Stella is so beautiful! They can give her meds for epilepsy. A friend's dog had it and she took meds which lessened the seizures. Lovely pic of tree and great granddaughter! -
Ducky, Sorry about Stella. Our furry friends are family members. I know it's a different disease, but my 15 yr old son's dog was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago. The dog is well regulated now and we inject him with insulin twice a day. One of the issues is they don't know as much about diseases in dogs and how to treat them as they do about humans.
Having a very difficult time.... not just with cancer crap. Things got worse with our 17 year old son; counseling wasn't helping. He was withdrawing further from us, stopped talking to us, his weight dropped to 117 lbs (he is 6'1"). Yesterday he started an intensive mental health program for teens at a medical center. It is out patient and voluntary; 8 hrs a day. He has agreed to try it for 2 days, then decide if he will continue. He was told that it won't work if he doesn't give it a chance and try. I hope he does. My heart aches for this child.
-
(((Poppy))) I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope the program helps him. -
Great news GMA!!
Love all the Christmas trees. That cat under the tree looks like my cat Ducky.
Sorry to hear about Stella. That dog has gotten huge over the past year.
Gentle hugs Poppy. I hope things get better for your son. My heart aches for you.
I bet we would all have a hoot if we spent Christmas together.
Badger, all those threats sound so good!!
I'm still looking for purple boots Kracker. I found some really cute ones on Amazon, but the heel was flat.
Tomboy, I'm gonna text you as soon as I get back from the store. Getting excited??? I sure am!!!
Jo, Joan, Val, Lucy, Blondie, crog, glennie, PTS, Alyson, mommy and everyone else my very scrambled brain didn't mention, hope you're all having a stress free day with no pain!!
(((((((group hug))))))

Poppy......been there with my grandson.....only his was drugs......horrible.....I took him in...finally after a reapse while with me I called the Medics and they took him to the hospital......his oxygen level was 70 and he would have died had I not called the Medicas
He went into Rehab again, but was sober when he did...his choice.....and he is almost 200 days clean......goes to meetings 5 nights a week, and is working full time again.........he is brilliant, handsome and finally has turned the corner.......
I am not sure if this will continue......any addict is just one pill away from relapse.......I just hope and pray this is his final attempt......his family has accepted him back, and I am so thankful to God I took him in........
It was not easy, but together he and I made it......I never lost faith in him, even through the hardest times......."no white hat here"......just the "love of a grandmother for her grandson"......
I hope this works out for you......prayers and hugs..........

Thanks for the support. I feel awful. A mom is only as happy as her least happy child. The great news is my son has agreed to go to the program next week. My DH picked him up today and my son talked to him all of the way home (about 40 minutes). This is fantastic progress, because our son usually says as little as possible to us.
Ducky, thank you for sharing what you have gone through with your grandson. I will remember him in my prayers. The facility drug tested my son... as they do all of the teens. We were told to lock up all of our meds, as a precaution. (hard to do with all of my cancer drugs)
We were supposed to go to my DH's brother's house tonight for Christmas Eve and gumbo (the family tradition). My oldest son didn't want to go, so I stayed home with him. The therapist told us this might happen. If we left our son home alone, he would think we didn't care..... same thing if we forced him to go. So we did as we were advised, and I stayed home with our son.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all my friends here. You each and everyone of you mean a great deal to me. You may understand the gladness that my heart feels, when I anticipate seeing who might have shown up, and how you are doing. It's the best gift ever, and I am wishing well for all of you, and am with you in spirit, imagining your days. Peace, and reasonably good health, to all.
-
