Just a quickie since I have to leave for work soon.  So glad to read all the entries here.  Great to touch bases with those who have been busy and not able to post as much lately.

Carole, your right -- icky-icky weather.  We are warmer here and suppose to have sun but I'm not sure where it has gone.  Might have suspected since it was quite dim while it was out.  Maybe we will get lucky and it will come back.

Cammie, I so, so, so, love fried peppers.  I do them too and sometimes Dh and I just make us a pepper sandwich.  I haven't done them for awhile and you reminded me of one of my big favorites -- or hmm, maybe I should just crash your party and fill up on some already done.

We are going tomorrow night to BIL's house.  I mainly avoid spending much time there , but have to honor the holiday for the family.  It is all men now pretty much and well, you know, the conversations are usually about things that I have zero interest in if that.  Still, now and then I can go and placate the family at large and Dh in particular.  They really want a cook, but that is ok.  The reason doesn't matter -- just doing it.

I'm off to work but will be back later.  See you then.

    Blessings,

    Jackie

    Hi Everyone

Sandra- glad your daughter is there to help. Hope maybe she can pull the "Daddie's Little Girl " card and convince him to take it easy. At any rate, make sure you let her do as much as possible while you have some time to heal.

Welcome Gemma and any one else I may have missed.

Well, I have done it again- overbooked myself totally. To start with, Tim ( my youngest son) should be moving out within the next two weeks and I was really looking forward to helping him and his fiancé set things up, but I go back to Georgia Sun. I am totally supportive of his getting out on his own, and adore Nissa, but they will be taking his pitbull with them, of course. Those of you who have been around for a while will remember the saga of SpongeDoug (my DD's ex) and the mess that turned into. He is still volatile at times, like screaming at her a few days ago because he had to give her his last dime in child support, leaving him penniless. She threw the money back at him, told him she wasn't the one spending all the money at bars and casinos and told him if he doesn't get it together by Jan, she will just go to her lawyer and have it taken out of his disability checks before he ever sees it. Anyway, we are a little nervous about her and her son being here all alone, with a just cocker spaniel that adores Doug for protection. So we went to the Humane Society Sat, hoping to find a dog that would not know Doug as family. We had a whole list of shelters to visit.

At the Humane Society, our first stop, we found not one, but two incredible pups. Brandy ( they called her squirrel), is a three month old redbone hound- beautiful and wellbehaved so far, and Toby ( a four month old golden retriever- so cute, and also doing well. Tracy wasn't quite up to caring for 3 dogs on her own, so Baxter (the cocker spaniel) now lives with Doug. We think they will be good for each other. Doug needs someone to care about, and he and Baxter are good friends- in fact, he is the one who actually picked Baxter. And Dougie will see him every time he goes over to his Dad's

So now, we have two puppies to take care of. Plus weeks ago I was trying to clean the outer part of my ear- not going near the canal at all, but haven't been able to hear from it since. I guess I kind of adjusted around the house, and most of the time I am out, I am alone, so don't notice, but last week, Tim took me to see what he hopes will bre his new home, and in the car with him I couldn't hear a thing from that ear. I called my Dr and his first available appt is New Years Eve. I will already be in Ga. Then I realized I am flying to Ga and need to get this ear looked at before I fly, so I have to go to one of those walk in clinics. And I told my daughter I wanted to take her daughter shopping for clothes for Christmas, and she is insisting on going with us- which totally defeats my plan of spending a day alone with my grandaughter and she wants to do it today. I also have to get my nails done, they are way too long, I have a Dr appt at 10am tomorrow, the day after Christmas I am going bridal dress shopping with my son's fiancé, and I leave Sun morning. I am exhausted already.

I hope all of you have a safe, healthy and joyous Christmas.

    Anne,

The puppies are darling. You are so good to get shelter pets who need you instead of designer dogs that cost hundreds. After reading what's on your To Do list, I needed to take a nap. Goodness girl, you are burning that candle at both ends. Hopefully things will settle down soon.

Anne, hope everything works out.  Never a dull moment in your life.  The puppies are cute.

Teacher, that's one of my worst fears, detached retina.  Best of luck to your dh.

Jackie and Cammi, I've never eaten fried peppers.  I've sauted peppers for using in recipes and I've roasted peppers.  And eaten them raw with dips.  But fried is a new preparation.

I did my grocery shopping today and will get started on some Christmas dinner cooking tomorrow.

    Hi to everyone.

HI and Welcome to all who are new here. You have found a great support group.

DGD and I made drop sugar cookies, thumb print cookies, Ginger snaps & strawberry oatmeal bars today. Made up gift boxes for friends.

It snowed to day in the Davis Mt's of West Texas, was wonderful.

Sandra, sorry to hear of your husbands health problems, hope everything will turn out alright.

It is going to be nice to have the next 17 days off from getting DGD to school at 7:45 AM

Well I need to get to bed.

    God Bless each of you.

Merry Christmas from my Mountain in West Texas

Hi and welcome to all the new ladies. This is a great group of ladies.

Teacher, Best of luck to your dh.

Anne, puppies are cute, Hope everything works out for you

    Mommarch, the cookies sound delicious

Chevy, How is your new car?

Minimieni(sp), St. Charles is about a 30 or 40 minute drive from me. Maybe we could meet some time when you are in the area. Camillegal would hopefully be able to meet us also,

Was getting ready for work and they called and said to come in at 8 am instead of 7:15 am. We will close early today at 3pm

DH has been off work all week so far. He has been babysitting three of the grandkids on Mon & Tues. for our son and dil. so they would not have to take days off since he has vacation days to take or loose them before end of year.

Need to finish getting ready for work.

Wishing everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The most vivid memories of Christmases past are usually not
of gifts given or received, but of the spirit of love,
the special warmth of Christmas worship,
the cherished little habits of home.

    SailingWind,

Your Christmas graphic is Arizona perfect.

    Teka,

Loved your for real kit-kat under the tree.  So at home .  So great to see a nice spoiled cat who knows exactly who is boss of the household.  I also adore the second one as it is how I feel about most of the people in my life --- there are a few others I DON'T feel that way about, but they are truly stuck on the side-lines where they will stay.

    mommarch,

I heard your sigh of relief all the way here in Illinois.  I hope you do get a big chance ( no negatives events any where near ) to rest up.  Sometimes our routines get so much better if we can catch a break from them.

    Teacher,

Wishing your Dh much success with getting his eye issue dealt with in a positive way.  Hope I never have one of those.

Hi to everyone out there and hoping you all have a safe, happy, healthy Christmas filled with love for each other.

    Blessings

    Jackie

Oh WAIT! HOLD THE HORSES kids! We have a new someone.... from LONDON!!! We should make her talk, because I love their British accent!

And so Welcome "gemma!" We like to talk to each other, and have fun, and we're always here when some of us aren't feeling well....

SOMEtimes we even offer advice.... but best to ignore it.... and we post recipe's and we butt into your business when you are out running rampant, with nothing good on your mind...!

We must watch out for Meemers.... We tease her, but it's all for her own good.... we think.... Ha!

Sandra! Yes, that IS what we look like...Hah! You bad girl! You know, I just made me a "shrug" or something similar! It is sooooooo warm, and I look GOOD in it, but it's something an old lady would wear, I think...Ha!

So since I'm only 77 I shall wait until I get "old" to wear it as a coat!

Until then, I put it on when we sit around the house... It is soooo cozy!

And OH! "MAGICAL-BEAN!" I just love that name! So what does that mean? Glad to see you here!

Yes, Meemers! We must keep an eye on you... We can look into the future you know.... and we see monkey-business... along with your other activities... so you are on a short-leash....

You need me and Cammers.... SOMEone has to keep an eye on you.... and not just that person-type MAN you are bound and determined to get into trouble with.... We are your conscience.... remember that...

Now Cammi! YES I am what's her names age.... I forget her name now... She is from London.... so she says.... but we don't know that for sure.... do we? How have you BEEN oh lonely one? Yes.... I fried peppers today too! Now how hard can THAT be? You're just a regular Martha in the kitchen, aren't you?

And peeled and prepared a Pomegranate , and made that Broccoli, cranberry, scallion, walnut salad.... And made that fresh Cranberry sugar-free jello, celery, walnut, and stuff SALAD! And to make you feel even worse, I made the Hollandaise Sauce for the Eggs Benedict tomorrow, and sliced the ham.... and toasted some potato cakes!!!!

I think that's all.... at least for now.... Oh! And cut up a Watermelon... You guys want to come for Dinner? Or Brunch tomorrow?

Okay, I had better get busy! I read all your posts, but forgot what I read.. Except about your ear! I just HATE that you can't hear! Maybe you pushed something back IN there? An ENT can reach in with this 2 foot long instrument and pull out whatever it is.... so don't worry...

Okay gals...! Merry Christmas everyone! xoxoxo

People who are very nearsighted are at more risk for detached retina, throw in cataract surgery and diabetes and we don't know what caused it. Thanks for the thoughts.

    Merry Christmas to all

A very special quote for very special people:

If it's not yet obvious to you, the real reason for this, and all seasons, is you.  A more perfect child of the Universe has never lived. Until now, only celebrations cloaked in myth and mystery could hint at your divine heritage and sacred destiny. You are life's prayer of becoming and its answer. The first light at the dawn of eternity, drawn from the ether, so that I might know my own depth, discover new heights, and revel in seas of blessed emotion.

A pioneer into illusion, an adventurer into the unknown, and a lifter of veils. Courageous, heroic, and exalted by legions in the unseen.

To give beyond reason, to care beyond hope, to love without limit; to reach, stretch, and dream, in spite of your fears. These are the hallmarks of divinity - traits of the immortal - your badges of honor. May you wear them with a pride as great as what we feel for you.

Your light has illuminated darkened paths, your gaze has lifted broken spirits, and already your life has changed the course of history.

This is the time of year we celebrate you.

    Bowing before Greatness,
      The Universe

What great thoughts and messages to find here this morning.  It is a fantastic morning because it is not only Christmas morning, but there is a wonderful, glorious sun outside today.  My, my, my -- it is just making me feel good all over more than anyplace else.

    Sandra,

I love the Christmas Lollipop tree.  It is so, so  pretty.

    GG,

I also really like the Pinky Plum Pants.

    Blondie, Ohio and Chevy,

Just wow, huh !!!  I hope you all are getting sun today to spark the mood and help you FEEL blessed in a big ways.

    Teacher,

That was a surprise about really near-sighted people having the propensity of detached retina more that others.  I started to feel a bit edgy about it and then realized I'm not only near-sighted, but far sighted as well ---- maybe I'm cancelled out on the retina thing.  I also have an astigmatism so my glasses have three prescriptions in them, but I see pretty darn good with them.  In fact, I always laugh when I'm forced almost to take the glasses case that comes with new glasses.  As I tell them finally, I'll take it but it is going to lay in a drawer somewhere.  The only time my glasses are OFF is when I'm sleeping and then they are right beside me in case  I have to get up.

Sorry about the change -- the italics came on and won't go off.

Chevy -- you will be happy about this.  I got a cell phone for Christmas from Dh.  I'm back in business and not hoping that I don't need help and no way to call for it.

Have a special, special day everyone.

Blessings and lots of love and hugs too,

    Jackie
