Bippy- glad you are slowing down and allowing yourself to heal. All that other stuff just cannot get done by you right now (cleaning, etc.) Getting up for a little walk is not a bad idea though. Docs like you moving around and not being in bed too much. Keeps the blood moving around your body. Do that walk with your husband to support you. Glad the recliner is helping too.

I have come to really the value of taking a hot shower/bath after going through surgeries and internal rad treatments. Sponge baths cut it only so much.

I got all my presents to out except to one person I wanted to swing by to see this weekend. Even though we have been friends for a long time and have exchanged gifts for a few years now, she seemed surprised I had something for her. Things that make you go hmmm...... Anyways, I did not get a chance to connect with her this weekend, but may try to drop it off later or just get it to her when I am back.

Mommy- sounds like lots of yummy cooking going on your way. I bought some food to take with me to the hot springs tomorrow, but will likely partake of some of the yummy food in their restaurant too.

Hope everyone has a good day. I will pop in tonight to check in one more time before I head out of town for a few.

Bippy, it's good to see that you have the energy to write. And, I think that it's definitely a good time to encourage others to clean for you. My husband is still vacuuming for me these many months later! The drain removal discomfort depends on the skill of the practitioner - I did not even know it had happened when my surgeon removed the first one. When the nurse removed the second, I felt a twinge - not real pain. I hope your removal is like that - in any case, it's a huge relief to have them out! Sorry that you are so uncomfortable. As Jazzy recommended, walking really gave me both a feeling of well-being, control, and energy.

Jazzy, you sound so organized and ready for the festivities. Your enthusiasm is so encouraging. Heading to some hot springs? I would be living one big, long hot flash??? I hope it's relaxing for you and involves lots of delicious food prepared by others...

Mommy, are the famous rolls a family tradition? My mother always included her signature cinnamon rolls in the bread basket. My daughter bakes them for us now (that baking gene skipped a generation). Their presence is a comforting thing. Hope your rolls turn out awesome. I am certain that your family appreciates the effort!

Mags, I am a bit behind - LOVE the procaffinator. Hope you are relaxing in your recliner listening to Christmas music... Sorry about the difficulties with your shoulder and rads - I have no experience but am praying for a better solution. DuckyB's words are encouraging.

Blondie, I hope your pain is resolving - who needs that? My husband had shingles early in our marriage and it was difficult. You are such a trouper. I am sending prayers for healing.

Cami, hi. I am new here. prayers for restful healing - hope you reach a happy balance of sleep and alertness.

I am getting stiff - cat curled up sleeping behind my knees on the bed... need to get moving but not wanting to disturb her. Hmmmm... what are my priorities here? Wishing you all the best of holidays and joyful moments with family and friends! Recently I am way less able to focus (hope I did not miss anyone posting recently) - love to all hermits and hope that all Hermits are uplifted by the holidays <3 Hot flash, moved legs, cat is gone, and so am I!

Daisy- the hot springs are lovely in the winter months, probably my most favorite time to go. Highs will be in the 30s up there and lows in the teens at night, so the air will be cool and the waters warm. It feels good on this old achy body, especially on the AI drugs that create such stiffness. I have a knee thing going on right now, which I think is muscular (t-band) based on a massage yesterday and some work there. My knee does not hurt when I walk on it, but had some issues around the left knee with swelling, etc. I think there is some inflammation there and hoping the waters will help. Sometimes I have to get out of the water if I get too hot (can trigger a hot flash!)

I hope you have a nice holiday with those closest to you!

Hi ladies, I see a couple of names I don't know so I'll welcome u now.

Daisy I had to laugh about the cat, we all know if we move they just usually get off of us, they are so picky.

And who's doing all this baking, Oh chit, my DD has been a busy bee with all she's doing cuz Eve is at our house, but I have to make (fry) peppers tomorrow and finish wrapping--I hope my phone leaves me alone today it was busy--AND I STILL CAN'T FIND MY SHOE. I have to wash clothes tomorrow (mine) to have what I want to wear for Wed. and Thurs. And I do worry about my D interfering with all of this. It better not.

Jazzy again u find the most exciting things to do--all I can ever say is Wow.

Mags I do hope they figure something out for u so u can be comfortable and I honestly can't even imagine it's the Holiday again so quickly, how does this happen to us?

Blondie my sweet I hope u'r doing better and can enjoy u'r family and if anyone really can't do the family thing, just stay home and rest, do what's best for you.

Joey has bbeen in bed for 2 days now and my DD won't let me see him and he won't either so he's blowing kisses to me. He did say he feels better tonite so I hope tomorrow he good--the Dr. said a virus, and to me that means who knows.

    Hey Teka (muah)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday and feels good.

That's wonderful Bippy. Wish I was as lucky as you. Don't mind my feeling a bit down. Basically my MO and the Practical Nurse just ruined my enjoyment for anything forever. If you want a full explanation, read my post in the Cheezed off thread.

Hi hermits- heading north today. Cold front came through yesterday with a little rain here, snow up north. I hope it snows while I am up there. I loving sitting in the steaming water with the flakes falling. One of my fav experiences when I go there in the winter.

Wishing everyone a peaceful holiday and will check in with you again soon!

mommy, WTF?! I read your post, and maybe I do not understand, but are they nuts? I thiught that tx forever as only for stage 4 ladies? Damn i have it for a full year with herceptin and perjeta and feel that is excessive.

I hate when they wont listen. When my father was going through his long illness and dying stage I experienced a lot of this kind of crap from some providers. It was very horrific and I am absolutely certain it contributed to the stress the cause my own cancer years later. I'm sorry you have to deal with it, but I wish you a wonderful holiday in the meantime!

Hi ONCO! I had my surgery and I'm very much struggling with my drain situation and Staples. I am praying to God I don't believe in, that I will get everything removed on Friday. I have no idea how I'm going to cope even for the next few days. It's not painful anymore, but it is so uncomfortable and hard to describe. I'm doing my best, my husband is helping me but it's just a struggle to get minimal comfort even. Well.....could be so much worse but I am ready to start rippin out staples and drains

Oh Bippy I'm so sorry u'r having such a difficult time with the drains, I know mine never hurt or bothered me actually I didn't like the fact I couldn't take a shower for 3 months, I'm sure a lot of people around me had a bigger problem, but it didn't hurt me and they never hrt at all taking them out so u should have them out soon and feel more comfortable.

Jazzy's on her way and hoping for a little snow, we don't want any here, on Christmas eve we're supposed to get some snow but not the next day. Partly sunny and not to cold.

Oh so busy today, trying to help my DD a little but can't do what I used to but Joey was feeling much better so he was a ot of help for the 2 of us. They set up 2 tables in the kitchen--it's a big one, but no dining room, but we have a counter going around so all the food is put on there and a small table is put in the kitchen for all the drinks and stuff. The garage has a love seat with a few chairs and TV and it's heated so there should be enough room for everyone and the kids can eat in the spare bedroom cuz it has a table in ther, they like to be alone anyway. I don't blame them--This is to much for me--I don't mean my DD wants me to do anything, I just don't feel comfortable with so many people here--I don't mind my sisters party but let's face it, it's my brother and sister and their families--there's a difference to me anyway. I still can't believe this all starts tomorrow r should I say today.

U know I hope everyone has a happy Holiday and rest if u need to,

    Bippy,

my hubby was there with me and when he tried to even ask the same questions, he got the same thing. He is just as frustrated as I am over this, because he works with a woman who had the same thing and she's not even on treatment anymore, she is just being monitored for possible relapse. He's going to try and get the day off for the next time I have to go, so that he can finally get them to see what they are doing to me with this attitude of theirs.

Hi All, heading out for a brain MRI - Yikes! apologies for not wishing you all well, safe travels, etc... a little (?) distracted. I truly appreciate this thread and your upbeat kindness. Bippy, those drains are a bummer - hope they're gone soon! (distant memory will be good) Jazzy, I am jealous - sounds so refreshing. Cami, nice to meet you! Blondie, love DQ - in a pinch, McDonald's carmel sundae. To ALL Hermies, stay warm and peaceful. Thanks for keeping me smiling :)

Happy Xmas Eve hermits- enjoying my time here at the hot springs. Fresh snow the night before I drove up yesterday made for a pretty landscape. We may be getting a white Xmas here tomorrow, and jazzy may get her wish to sit in the hot springs with fresh snow falling. Will take some pics and share when I get home so you can see what it looks like here. Deeply peaceful and restorative place. I had a hot mud treatment yesterday (my fav of the treatments here) yesterday and going to have an hour of foot reflexology later today. As I know I have told many of you, my feet are a mess from the impacts of the AIs.

Chevy- welcome to our thread and please join in. I know your handle from a different thread but cannot remember which one.

Bippy- I am sorry about the drains, when do they come out and the staples too? Not soon enough. I hope you are sleeping.....

Mommy- sorry for all the problems with your docs too. I hope Princess is still bringing you a smile.

    Blondie- hey!

    Cami- is Joey better yet?

Daisy- please let us know about the brain MRI results?

Teka- teka the cat likes her Xmas tree. She is a cutie.

Lilly- thinking of you this holiday season.

Onco- blessings to you this holiday season.

Monis, Maiden, Ducky, Luv, and everyone else here, blessings this holiday season.

Off to go soak this old tired body this morning to continue the restoration process. Wishing you all a good day whatever you are doing. Looking forward to a new year and all the possibilities for all of us here.

Wishing all my Hermies a very merry Christmas!

Jazzy, so envious of all the pampering!

Chevy, welcome to my other home!

Cami, find a quiet spot. A closet, maybe, or under the bed. I totally sympathize and so relieved not to have a crowd here.

    Onco, merry Christmoos.

M0mmy, just cuddle with the kids.

    Daisy, waiting with you.

Blondie, Teka, Sally, and all the Hermies, merry Christmas hugs to all.
