Tamoxifen....no period!

I have been on tamoxifen since September. I had a regular period until this month. I am very late and a little worried. I do have a tubal ligation but can't help to think of pregnancy for I have always been very regular, every 28 days on the dot. I have read that tamoxifen increases fertility so this is causing some anxiety for me. I am 39 and my youngest is 12 and not planning on more kiddos! I almost want to go get pregnancy tests just to be sure. Has anyone's period stopped with tamoxifen? And is tubal ligation safe with tamoxifen? I'm just so stressed with all of this....

Hi Nimm,

According to the main Breastcancer.org site's page on Fertility After Hormonal Therapy, tamoxifen can in fact cause your period to become irregular or stop all together. Of course, you'll want to ask your doctor just to be safe.

My period never resumed after my first chemo (DD AC/T). I was 37 at the time. I have taken Tamoxifen for 3.5 years and recent hormone tests show me to be in menopause. It feels strange to say that at 41
