No leftovers here either. I went down to the farm and cooked for mom since she's still hobbling around in a boot. The whole family showed up and ate like there would be a famine. lol I got home today and got a phone call that she'd somehow fractured her shoulder. She can't remember how she did it but now she's in a sling and a boot. DAMN!

Rock, I don't do pumpkin anything but I do love a good ole southern pecan pie! And my butt shows it. But hell, who ever heard of a jolly skinny person? Yep, I'm all about dat base!

    Went to Costco...bought a pie. Yum. :-)

Sorry Rohanna to hear about your mom and her shoulder. This parenting our parents can be exhausting. Hope she heals quickly.

    Tell me about it Rocky.

Had an issue with my mom last month when she broke three fingers on her right hand in a fall and had to have surgery on them to set them properly. The neuro doc thinks that nerves in her hand are damaged permanently.

Called mom to see how her Thanksgiving was and she told me she re-broke the pinky finger that she broke in her fall.

Thanks for all the good wishes for my Mom! We still don't know how she broke the shoulder. Mommyof2, I hope your mom heals quickly and that neither or our moms break anything else. It's so painful to see the ones we love hurt. What's even sadder is that mom was just able to start getting around on her walker. *sigh* Gonna go burn some sage!

At least this time she didn't break it falling. She broke it while trying to grab something that my 2 yr old niece was going after

that's how I broke my wrist, going after GS#1, who had just kicked his brother in the head. Seems to be a rash of broken bones going on. Let's all be careful!!!

MO, If your kitten ever stops using the litter box (and of course it's clean) take her to the vet. Cats are very neat, so if they go somewhere else it probably means a uti or similar. Our foster cat was surrendered to the shelter "because she was pooping all over the house". The shelter realized she couldn't eat because her teeth were in horrible shape. I took her after they were all pulled because she needed medication for a while. She has never ever pooped anywhere except in the box at my house. I think she was trying to get the owner to take her to the vet.

After having lost Charcoal to kidney failure, I am keeping a close eye on Princess. Don't want to lose this little one.

I only have 2 foster cats, one of which thinks he's a dog (comes when called, demands walks, etc.). DH is a total pushover with them.

Two kitties here! They are both orange tabbys with one being lighter then the other. It's tough to tell them apart sometimes, but their personalities make it obvious who is who :-). One is a lap cat who is loving and snuggles, while the other is snobby and doesn't really care if humans give him attention. He does get along with his step brother and they chase each other and play. The second tabby was adopted to be a buddy for the first so at least that worked out well.

All my furbabies hang out and sleep together except the Siamese. Being royalty (in his opinion) he is too high above the others to even acknowledge them. He allows them to worship him from afar!

Right at the moment I have 5 fur babies.  My oldest is a striped orange Tabby named Tigger and he is nearly 18.  The next two one is calico and named Boo is 9, we found her as a tiny baby along the highway she had a cracked hip, fell off a vehicle the vet assumed.  She limps but does fine now.  The next is a big white kitty I bottle fed after we found her along a slough. Her name is Snow Puff and has one blue and one green eye.  She is a lover of everyone!!

This summer I found 4 baby kittens in our old garage we have 15 miles from where we live. I would go out daily and feed the mamma cat and bathe the babies eyes as the mold in the building was a bit much for them. At 3 weeks the mother disappeared( she was a wild cat) so I took the babies home and bottle fed them, felt like a new mother again with those 3 am feedings. I was able to give the two females away but my daughter wanted to keep a male named Hobo, we saved his life 3 times- first time we found him at about 10 days he was out of the box he was born in freezing cold, we moved all the babies and later he got his head stuck in the wall of the old garage and his siblings piled on him, then he got a really bad eye infection which took a lot of meds and eye bathing, but today he is a big fuzzy 4 month old who is getting ready to see the vet ! Shhhh he doesn't know that!!  His brother is a black and white busy busy lil guy who seems to think it is fun to hop into the tub with me, he also has decided I am the only human worthy of his snuggles so he is now mine!  My daughter named him Mr Pibbles, as he was the runt and smaller than a Pebble.  He will be joining his brother at the vet next month and I am sure neither of them will be pleased.

Of all my older cats the only one to snuggle the kittens is my Tom-less.. LOL... Senior Cat Tigger, the females are not into babies I guess!!   My house is a big furball and my tree has no chance this year, but I still love them all!!

Loved your story of the kittens. We had a bottle fed litter this summer. After a few weeks my brain didn't work at all due to sleep depravation. At the shelter they put kittens with old Toms to soothe them. The females don't want anything to do with them unless they're the Mom.

I love these kitty stories. People who love cats have extra big hearts! You can see my king furbaby in my avatar. He's become very picky about food lately and will only drink from a plastic cup that you have to hold. We've been experimenting with soft foods for him and this week his favorite is cream of chicken soup. My DD is an only child and she has grown up with him and calls him her brother. Whenever I have a really bad day, I gather all my kitties around and we have a cuddle fest. They never judge or say stupid things. They just love me. Puuuurrrrrrrfect!

So cheezed off today. I'd love to find the rat fink that stole the artificial tree that my neighborhood association put up in a very visible spot. They took everything but the pot it had been placed in and was weighed down. The pot was found tipped over on its side. We worked so hard on that tree, it breaks my heart to think that someone could be so heartless to do this. We put a small tree up in the same spot last year and nothing happened to it.

Mommyof2 - that stinks about the tree! Very Grinchy of whoever took it!

What cheezed me off today would be work. It seems to have gotten more stressful since I took on some additional tasks and, well, I just don't like it at the moment! I feel like I never have enough time to focus on the things at home that I really want to do...time really does seem to speed by way to quickly. <sigh>

    What cheezed me off today...

Not being able to honestly answer the stupid, stupid question I got once again today: "So, you're all healthy right? Everything's okay?" For 2 1/2 years I got to answer, "Yeah, doing great!" and give them that "Why do you ask?" look. Today, with an ice pack stuffed down my bra all I could do is weakly smile and say "Can't wait for Christmas!"

Thanks for the hugs. I need 'em this morning.

It used to cheeze me off when people said, "So now you're all done with that. You can put it behind you forever!" Lucky me, I get to prove them wrong. (See new profile below)
