Gingerbrew, I hope you can get in to your dr soon. Waiting for news really sucks! Sending prayers and hugs!
Wilsie, I sure hope your new chemo does the trick! You wil be in my prayers too!
Mac, Good luck with your mammo. I asked for mine to be scheduled after the holidays. Told my BS I needed to be able to try and forget all this crap for a few weeks. I hope the new meds help you!
Wishing you all well. Love and hugs to all, lilyrose

I have a mammo at 2 PM tomorrow with Ultra sound if indicated by Mammo results. I finally slept this afternoon. I will be taking a bunch of you along in my pocket. So hop on in.
Hugs Ginger
-
I'll definitely be there. I think you're going to need a big pocket.

I'm in

Ginger I'm in!!! Keeping everything crossed that everything is okay. So glad you have managed to get things moving so quickly!
Kathy I'm still a bit wound up.....lol......I had such a lovely time with Aly and Auckland is really, really beautiful. I would find it very easy to live there for sure!
Nancy, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you as well that your Mammo is clear once again.
It must be that time of year as I too am off to the city in the morning for my annual Mammo as well as my bi-annual DEXA but the fun thing after is the Christmas Dinner for my Chat group tomorrow night so that should be loads of fun.
Take it easy all and hopefully we all will have good news.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hope you have deep pockets Ginger. We will all be waiting for news.
Must try to finish baking today At least it is not too hot so far this December.
Big hugs
-
I'm in, too Ginger. But first you must go with me to my CT at 7:45 am! Wilsi
-
Wow, that is early! What time do you have to be there?
-
I am happy to tell you that my lump was scar tissue. The was such welcome news to hear. Thank you all so much for your support. I was pretty scared. They did both a mammo and an ultrasound. I got my flu shot there and made my appt with my onc for when she returns from her vacation, well actually January.
I am so relieved thank you all
-
That's the best !
-
Wonderful news! We're doing the happy dance with you.
-
The best news ever!!
Kathy

Gingerbrew, oh what a relief.
My mammo came back with no cause for concern! Whew! They read them right away for us that come from far away. So I had some nervous moments but it was all good. except for the squishing.
I was worn out, though. My DD went with me and we stayed away over night. We hit the IKEA on the way up. She is shopping for her new house. Then we picked up some basic stuff at Target 'cause it was open until 11pm. Slept until 7am then up and on our way to the cape to pick up some granite shelves that were being specially cut. Then back to the boat by noon because DD had to be to work by 2pm. I'm still recovering.
-
Yay Nancy!!! Great news on your mamo! With all that you did, I would be exhausted as well!!
My apologies girls, I thought I posted the other day........it may have been those gremlins that made it disappear or it was just a figment of my imagination, either way, I guess I have to resay what I intended......lol.
Ginger I am so so happy that your results were all good.......huge sigh of relief!
I was supposed to have my annual mamo and bi-annual DEXA on Friday but woke to the dulcet tones of my phone ringing and the voice on the other end telling me that the tech required for the DEXA had double booked so I could either just have the mamo or reschedule both.......I chose option number two but I was a little ticked off as I had organised the whole thing to coincide with my needing to be in the city for a Christmas Dinner celebration for another local group that I belong to as well as a belated birthday breakfast that my children wanted to do for me and to attend my grand niece's third birthday. Oh yes a very full couple of days but that's just what has to happen at this time of year.........never mind, at least I got all the others done and I just have to go to the city again this week......blah!!!! I will be very happy to see Christmas done and dusted!
Take it as easy as possible girls!
Love n hugs. Chrissy
-
thanks chrissy!
Even tho, you didn't get to your medical appts, you had wonderful events to attend. Having those med appts just gets in the way sometimes. But I hear you about the extra travel.
when we were in the city, we visited a young friend that had a baby about 2 months ago. The poor little baby has many problems the main one being having a cleft palette. So the little guy needs a feeding tube directly into his belly. He is still in the NICU unit at Children's Hospital. Hopefully he can have surgery to repair the roof of his mouth. I left feeling very grateful for the medical care we have access to.
-
Sorry your appts had to be rescheduled, Chrissy. Always a pain when you're as geared up as possible to get them over with and move on, isn't it? At any rate, I know you enjoyed the activities you had. Right now, I agree about getting Christmas "done and dusted"!
Great news on your mammo, Nancy!! Those results are always such a relief. I get my results as soon as it's read too, which is protocol where I go for those who've had cancer. Regarding the baby with the cleft palette, that has run in my family for many years and is why there's such a big age difference (12 years) been my sister and me. She was born with cleft palate and cleft lip and had several surgeries from infancy to late teens. I had a great aunt with it also and at that time I believe about all they could do was close the lip. Your friends' baby should have a great prognosis as unbelievable progress has been made in the repair today.

On Saturday many volunteers placed wreaths in our veterans' cemeteris across America...this one is here in San Diego very near where we have our BCO lunch bunch gatherings..This is also where I will end up eventually.
-
What a lovely thing to be done Lisa! I remember that cemetery and thought what a beautiful, peaceful place to be laid to eternal rest.
-
Thank you all so much for your good wishes and prayers. I was far more scared than I was admitting to myself. I was sort of vibrating.
Has anyone heard from Connie, I forget what her BCO name is. I am feeling concern that we haven't heard back and I want to send you hugs.
I hope I am not overstepping here. For me, sometimes saying something outloud makes it "real." I can be slow to disclose certain events beause of that. As we have all come together to support one another I have come to trust in this group that I will be safe. Connie we all love you and care for you.

My CT shows liver and peritoneal mets progression. I am on new treatment, sure hope it slows things down. I hate to tell my grown kids. Meanwhile, my port is still infected and I am on Augmenten. Feel bad and son and grandkids arriving today. I'm kinda down right now. Have a call in to doctor, fever went to 101 last night. Wilsi
-
Wilsie2 I am sad to hear your tests gave you these results. I too found it very difficult to tell my kids, all grown, that I had BC. I will keep you in prayers.
Hugs Ginger
-
Oh damn Wilsi!!! Bugger! as we say down here. I hear you on the feeling a little down at the moment and can't say I blame you.......the last thing we really want to hear is that our treatment is not working. What treatment are you on now?.....sure hope it turns things around for you. Telling the kids never is fun and if yours are anything like mine they have a tendency to create the mountain when we ourselves try to keep things at mole hill level.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the New Year brings better news.
Love n hugs. Chrissy
-
thanks, GInger and Chrissy. My new treatment is Gemzar/carboplatin. Have to wait 6weeks at least to know if it's working. Guess I may as well get it off my mind, since there is nothing I can do about it.
I don't think I'd be so down if I felt better. Don't know if it's the antibiotic or chemo se.

I had my first surgery two days before Christmas in 2000. I think my tiny tree that year came from a clearance aisle at the drugstore, and we placed it on a wicker stand. But we muddled through, drains and all...it was nice to just say I am going to do nothing on Christmas Day and meant it..
-
I had tummy problems with Augmentin, maybe call your Dr. I hope you feel better soon.
Ginger
-
Wils, it's probably the anti B that's making you feel like crap as Augmentin is a strong one. With your body fighting an infection and trying to deal with the cancer plus the new chemo, your body is under invasion and finding it hard going so try to get some rest. You are right about trying to let it go, there is not much you can do other than what you are.
Love n hugs. Chrissy
