2nd opinions

I was just diagnosed with Triple positive BC 5CM right side. I have seen a medical oncologist who wants to start neo adjuvant therapy with TCH plus Perjeta. Is this a normal protocol? Also my husband and I are going to get a second opinion next week at Seattle Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center. Does anyone know about their protocol of using Naturopathic therapy plus metronomic Chemo? Thank you. So Scared .

    Hi PMR53, I love the Seattle Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center! They coordinated treatment for my husband's cancer more than 12 years ago. They were our "final stop" -- our fourth opinion -- because each of the doctors we had seen before had offered very unsatisfactory ideas. They use a holistic, wellness-oriented approach that involves nutrition and complementary therapies as well as conventional treatment. Personally I think it's a shame that they don't have a hospital of their own in Seattle, but they did a great job of coordinating with the hospital we used for his surgery and conventional chemotherapy, which was Swedish. (Also fantastic doctors there.) The oncologist we saw at SCTWC now has his own practice, LifeSpring, which uses a similar approach.     I am so sorry you have joined the sorority no one wants to be a member of.

    I too was just diagnosed with bc and have just seen my first surgeon, she told me that my her2 is borderline and if final test (fish) is possitive that would be part of my treatment.

    For me I will absolutely be getting second opinion. But that's just me and no matter what first opinion was I'd want the second set of eyes and head of knowledge. No one here will judge you in any way for any decision. And as I'm a newbe the other ladies will be along with great advice.
