hi ladies! I return to work tomorrow, I'm on a tapering dose of prednisone now. I'm feeling better, I am able to put my underwear on myself now! It's hard to imagine how quickly you can become disabled. I thought I over did in the garden & bike riding, but I guess I was wrong....I have an elevated ANA level which is showing some autoimmune thing happening..... I wonder if this was underlying all along as I have be unable to take tamoxifen or several aromitase inhibitors since my diagnosis.
I could use all the hugs & positive vibes you can muster.....you ladies are truly special!
Tammy what kind of online training are you doing? Looks like I'm back to starting with walking in short distances.
Thanks for the support! Xoxo
-
Dear Janet, so glad that you able yo return to work, but please don't overdo!!! When will you know about the autoimmune issue? Prayers for healing. Walking is the best exercise! Hugs to you
-
Kathy, unfortunately my appointment with the rheumatologist isn't until the middle of December. Kind of ridiculous that you have to wait that long for an appointment when you don't feel well & are in the midst of a crisis/new diagnosis.....I hanging in there for now. I am blessed with a truly special husband.
Happy Halloween! I hope we get a lot of visitors....or else......I'm going to have have to get rid of the candy some other way! It's calling me!
-
Awww, Janet! I know the waiting is so hard!! You are in my thoughts and prayers!! You are one strong and tough woman!!!
-
Janet, sorry I've been missing for so long. I hope you're feeling much better now!
I'm doing a 10K run program on-line and so far so good. I need to train 6/7 days and as of week 2 I'm 100/100!!!
-
Hi, Tammy!! Wow, the 10K program on-line sounds awesome!! I am walking a lot and playing with grandbabies, keeping the weight at bay, but always would like to lose more!! Have a great weekend everyone!!!
-
You go Tammy! That's great! Very inspirational!!
Kathy, how fun & exciting for you to enjoy the grandchildren. They must be getting so big already!! Keeping up with them is great exercise. Your are so good with your walks, hikes & use of your gym.
I saw my PCP on Friday & they increased my prednisone for a while. I wasn't able to move up my appointment with the rheumatologist....so I have to wait a bit. 60mg of prednisone for another 5 days & then I can start to tapering down.......hopefully this will help. As for now exercise is out.....just trying to keep moving & remain working. I am thinking of you dear ladies....stay motivated & keep drinking lots of water :-)
-
Janet (((hugs))), you'll be back exercising soon
-
Thanks Tammy. I managed to take a walk for a few blocks today. Even did some shopping.....Hangin in!!!
-
Yes, Janet, hang in there!! You are one tough cookie!!
-
Shopping is a great form of exercising... walking, hand to wallet in bag, carrying the shopping bag weights...bring it on!!!
-
Shopping and sculpting, I say!!!
-
Hi lovely ladies, I hope you are all doing well!
I have been exercising daily and was expecting a loss on the scales but I've put on a pound
Wish me luck for next week!
-
good luck on the scale Tammy.....I know how frustrating it can be do be doing the right thing & expect to see results. Your building muscle & that weighs more than fat. but more importantly, don't focus on the number, focus on how much better you feel taking good care of yourself, eating the right foods & exercising.
Thanks for the support ladies! Have a wonderful weekend!
-
hey, Tammy, definitely muscle weight!! You are doing great!!!
-
Janet and Kathy, I do feel good! How are you both going?
I'm thinking I need to concentrate on being good now as Christmas is just around the corner!
-
Tammy, glad you are feeling good!!!! That is the most important thing! I hear you about the holiday....I not only love food but love to cook & bake...so I have to really curtail my time in the kitchen.....The prednisone I am on has taken away all my pain for now...just left me hungry all the time & bloated...I will have to deal with that after they figure out what is going on. The good news is I am not in pain now, I am working, taking my dog for walks & keeping my spirits up the best I can. More exercise & better eating to come. Thanks for all your support. Keep up the great work!
Hi Kathy !!!
-
Hi, Tammy, so glad you are feeling good!!! Janet, I sure hope they figure out your dilemma!! Prayers for you, dear!!! You just enjoy the holidays, you, too Tammy!!! I am taking Prilosec for my acid reflux and it makes me hungry, too!!! I am still walking everyday!! Blessings to you both!!
-
Blessings to you to Kathy! Sorry to hear about your reflux......one thing to remember is always stay upright for at least 30 minutes after eating anything :-). Can't help but let my nurse shine thru...lol
-
thank you so much, for the advice, so appreciated!! It is so wonderful to have a nurse on this thread!!
-
(((((hugs))))
-
Janet and Kathy, how are you???
I'm doing well training almost every day. I've lost a little weight but I do feel sooo much fitter!
Let me know how you're progressing!
-
Hi, Tammy!! Fantastic news on your training!! The best thing is that you feel so good!!! I continue to exercise every day, and because of my Gerd diagnosis, I am losing weight again!! I really have to watch what I eat now!! I will be better about posting here!! Hi, Janet!!
-
congrats on the weight loss ladies! And Kathy I hope your GERD is feeling better. I must be absorbing your weight loss! Lol.....I will do better when I get off this prednisone, I have gained over 5 lbs since this crap started a moth or so ago......my appt is next week finally! Hope you are enjoying the holiday season! Keep up the good work & I look forward to joining you in the loss column :-)
-
Hi, Janet!! Hey, 5 lbs is not bad at all!! And you know it is from the Meds! You will be in that loss column soon!! It is so funny that I am finally losing more weight because of my acid reflux! I have to stay away from so many foods, but that is OK!! I feel so much better!!! Good luck at your doctor's visit!!
-
Kathy, great to read that you are feeling better....and that there is a positive side to GERD!
Janet, I hope you get a good report at your appointment
-
hi, Tammy!!! Hope this Christmas season brings you and Janet many Blessings!!!
-
Kathy, this Christmas season is already bringing many treats! Our out of office staff have been sending us cookies and chocolates.....and I've been indulging just a little but I suppose I'll need to wait and see what the scales say about it
-
Hey, Tammy, indulge away, you deserve it, and back on track after the holidays!!! I have gone to the gym every day and have also taken a walk each day!! Since being diagnosed with Acid Reflux, I have lost10 lbs, avoiding the trigger foods helps! Bread is one of them and chocolate!!! Hi, Jane
-
Happy holiday's Tammy & Kathy! Enjoy the celebrations & treats-time to get on track after the holidays.
Great job on the weight loss Kathy, I hope you reflux is feeling better.
I finally saw the rheumatologist on Wednesday & had 9 tubes of blood taken this morning. Nothing confirmed yet but the MD is thinking polymyalgia rheumatica, an autoimmune disease. It's treatable with prednisone which I've already been on for for 2 months. I have the moon face & weight gain but am not crippled now. If that is what I have, the plan is to taper the prednisone to the lowest dosage & be on it for at least 6 months to a year. I'm going to have to be as active as can & eat healthy so when I come out the other side I don't need to loose more weight than now!
Enjoy your blessings & have a safe fun holiday season!
