Pure, I too am sorry to read this. Go over to the stage IV boards to hear from the lovely survivors there. Many blessings and hugs to you.

I am so sorry that this happened, but not surprised with the back pain you have been having. I sent you a lot of information in an email, but one comment I will make here is it's time to get the best minds you can find on this problem. That said, I am convinced you will be just fine. But you have made a life transition and a major speed bump.
The good news is that a lot of new therapies and clinical trials out there since both of us were diagnosed. I am expecting that you will be just fine. So here's to zapping those tumors to kingdom come.
Sending you a big hug and much love. - Claire

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear about this. I remember you going through treatments while pregnant, and was so glad that all worked out OK. I know you have been having a lot of issues with pain this year. You are probably in shock right now. I hope you are able to get some strength and advice from the wonderful ladies over on the Stage IV boards. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
-
hi there, I am sorry to hear of this, You will need to regroup and put your big girl pants back on. There are truly so many advances for ladies who have progresses. I know personally of 3 who were diagnosed with me, and progressed who are all stable almost 10 years. I know your news was not something you wanted to hear, but you will be OK.
-
I just wanted to say I'm sorry you got this shitty news. *hugs*
-
Pure, I'm so sorry. You asked for survivor stories so... I've mentioned this on the board before -- my mother-in-law lived almost 15 years (from 1995-2009) with stage 4 BC, and most of that time she just took AIs. She worked (and then retired), saw her children get married, her grandchildren born, traveled, read lots and lots of books and had a great life. There are even more treatments available now so there is lots and lots of hope. (((Many gentle hugs)))

Damn it Jen. Stay positive. Stay strong and kick its ass. You got this. You did it before and you can do it again. Xo

Hi Pure, I was alerted to your latest dx by a mutual friend so I thought I'd pop in and see if I can help. I'm one of those stage IV ladies so I can attest to the fact that you will be welcomed with open arms and I can also assure you that there are many stories of good long survival over there.
I know you are really fearful right now and that is normal........we have all been there and fully understand. It is going to take you a little while to get your head around the fact that you are now stage IV but it can be done.
Deep breath and let that tension and fear go as there is definitely life after a stage IV dx.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Dear Jen—I saw your post on FB, but thought this would be a more discreet place to post my support, such as it is. Being so distant, I can only offer the cyber support of good thoughts and lots of prayers. But you've got them in spades
-
Oh Jen. Hugs, hugs, hugs. You have been through some tough stuff before - you will get through it again. Lean hard on these forums - we all hold each other up. You are most definitely very loved and appreciated, and most importantly not alone.
-
Jen,There is now way around this information -it just stinks. Find your way when you are ready, to the stage 4 board. There are many of us living happy and full lives. There is much info and support. Find the thread "Life does not end with stage 4 dx"

I am sorry that your cancer is back after 5 years. I'm glad you posted on stage 3 boards since we "know"you the best. I wish there was something more tangible I could do to ease your pain. Thinking of you

Jen, reading this felt like a big kick in my gut. You have done everything to keep yourself healthy. So unfair.
It reminds us all that stage 3 slides into stage 4 at times. We all need to heed pain in our backs and hips.
Take comfort that Diana and Lindalou are doing so well.

Weesa is right. I am almost 13 years out with mets the last two years. Not going anywhere but in this life. Many tx available to us and you just keep plugging along. Every day I see the sun is a good day. Yeah. Your life changes with more treatment but that is what happens. Walking every day and still enjoying each day. Treatment is all about managing the cancer. I don't get too far ahead of myself and I think actually a good way to live. Shout out to my stage 3 pals. Just don't give up. You have more healthy cells then cancer cells. Yep.
-
Jen...I have no words of wisdom to offer that the other ladies haven't said....go join the stage 4 boards...there are many gals there who are long time stage 4 survivors who can offer you hope, courage and sage words of wisdom.
Please keep us posted on how we can help, most of us from afar. Hugs from Denver...Karen

When I saw your news, my first reaction was to come back here. This is where I know you will find the other side - the hope and help from others who are going through the same thing - to go with all of the love and support you are getting from family and friends. I wish I could do more, Jen, but know that you are in my prayers - prayers for strength, peace, healing and hope!
-
Jen, when I first saw your name, "Pure," I thought what a beautiful name! And it fits you well.
I'm so sorry you've been diagnosed with progression. There are just no words to express how my heart goes out to you, but please know that you're in my prayers.
-
Pure, I am so sorry. Stupid, stupid cancer. Unfortunately I can't offer much in terms of practical stuff, but you are in my thoughts.
-
Pure, your posts have always been such a source of strength for me, I am so sorry to hear that you are having to deal with this. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I also want to let you know that I personally know someone who was diagnosed with liver and bone mets 11 years back. She is still stable, on AIs and has a great quality of life.
-
I am so sorry to hear this. I went through treatment at about the same time as you did. F%@# CANCER!
There are more and more stories of people living long lives with mets. Here is the blog of a woman that has been Stage IV more than 12 years and is living an active, full life: http://jillscancerjourney.blogspot.no/
Remember, you are part of the new statistics!
Lots of hugs.

So wish we could do a sister group hug with you!! But, I do hope you feel all our love, support, encouragement, hope and prayers!! Remember the strength you had to go through treatment while carrying your sweet son...you fought hard and you both are here...you'll continue to be here by living each day one at a time!
I come here to encourage those behind me and seek the wisdom of those before me. I have gathered some ideas as to what I would do if I should progress; first seek wisdom of my stage 3& 4 sisters, have a biopsy of my mets, have a chemo sensitivity test, research the most promising trails and never give up my right to HOPE!!! We have some of the most brilliant stage 3 and 4 sisters...I am so thankful!!
Stay with us stage 3 sisters for as long as you need for you will always be one of us, but when you are ready seek stage 4 sisters for the encouragement only this amazing sisters can give!!
Please keep us posted and know that you are not alone, we're all in this with you!
-
Jen,
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you begin to look for your best options and make treatment decisions. You are surrounded by beauty and much love...and by the fiercesome support of all of us here. Let us know how we can help. Octobergirl

Dear Pure,I am sad to see that you have had progression. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs,
Lexi

Hi Pure, Just read about your progression. My thoughts and prayers are with you. SharonM
-
Pure, I really hate to hear your news. I was hoping that none of my fellow stage 3 sisters would have to join me in stage 4. I have been there a little over a year. It is devastating at first but as time goes by it gets easier to deal with. My thoughts and prayers are with you. When you are ready, come join the stage 4 elite group.
-
Just checking in on you Pure. Think of you often and pray you have found a great treatment plan that displaces some of the fear with hope!! Your stage 3 sisters are always here for you!
-
I'm worried about you too. Please let us know what is happening to yo

I've been in touch with Jen on FB. She's back in NC and beginning tx. Her entire family will join her at some point, but heartbreaking to learn she is unable to fly back to Maui (for now) to say goodbye because of the blood clot (now resolved) they found in Texas.
I hope she doesn't mind me giving you a brief update. I know she thinks the world of this place, as do I.
Love,
Sharon
