Can Lupron cause swollen lymph nodes?

I have been on Tamoxifen for three years this coming February. Diagnosed July 2012 followed by chemo, bilateral mast, and radiation. Recently moved and met with my new Onc for my six month check up and she wanted to discuss new research, etc. She has put me on an AI with the lupron shot. I had my first shot yesterday and through the course of today I have developed two hard swollen nodes in the back right of my neck. So my question is..Is a possible side effect of Lupron swollen nodes? I have googled the heck out of it and can not find anything.

    First, we want to welcome you to Breastcancer.org! We're sorry for the circumstances that bring you here, but we're so very glad you joined our community.

    We've looked through all of the info on Lupron that we have on our main site, and we haven't found anything that talks about swollen lymph nodes as a side effect. Did you call your doctor and ask if this was to be expected? Perhaps it's something some women experience, but not all.

    We're sure some of our other members will be around shortly to offer their experiences, but in the meantime, you can check out some more information on Lupron here.

    I do have a lot of swelling each month following my Lupron shot - my ankles/lower legs and my side beneath axillary dissection site. I am fairly certain that the swelling is a side effect of Lupron because it returns each month. My swelling resolves within several days following the shot (might have been a week the first month). I might call my oncologist regarding lymph nodes swelling in my neck, though - it seems more unusual? I do remember thinking that Lupron was a crazy drug when I had my first shot. Back then, I had intense hot flashes and felt like my abdomen swelled following the shot. Hope your issue resolves quickly as well.
