South Orange County, CA??
We're moving there next month so I have to find new doctors (primary, dentist, and of course a GREAT ONCOLOGIST). Anyone here live in that area with suggestions...? We'll be around the Mission Viejo area.

Mission Viejo is a nice area (freeways can get a big jammed, though). I'm not far from you, but just diagnosed, so I'm not up on doctors. Also, I have KP, so it's all in-house there.
But I hope you have an easy move and enjoy your new place! Good luck with finding some great doctors.

I am also with KP and have a very good Oncologist in Irvine. My second opinion doctor is in Orange and isn't with KP. He is also excellent and worked with my KP doctor on my case. Please send me a PM if you'd like their names. Best wishes!!

Hope I'm not hijacking thread!
I don't think mcgis was with KP...
... but, out of curiosity, SlowDeepBreaths, who do you see at Irvine? And is that at Sand Canyon? I've got an appt with an oncologist there Thursday-- Dr. Kashani. Terri Poe said he was good. I'm going to ask him about chemo, and whether I should go straight to lumpectomy or what... hopefully he'll help me decide my course of treatment!

McGis, I only know about Kaiser doctors.
April, I had my surgeries at KP Sand Canyon. I love my surgeon and plastic surgeon there. I chose an oncologist in Anaheim closer to my house, though. I've only met her once because she had a medical leave but I see her next week. I liked her. If you don't click with the one you see, choose another! PM me if you want. Make sure you ask for the Oncotype DX test when your tumor is removed to help you with the decision of whether to do chemo or not. Also start reading about the pros and cons of lumpectomy + radiation vs mastectomy.

april, sending you a PM.

Got PMs... but since I only just discovered that there ARE pms, I've just hit the limit! *sigh* I'll respond when I can.
Thanks, Beppy!
Thanks, Julie!
... unfortunately 25 is my street number not my age! I'm totally in the after-55 risk group, but I sadly act as if I'm 25 all too often...
-
Well, I'm relieved you aren't 25, April!
-
I'm in Huntington Beach and my Onc is Dr. Merry Tetef in Irvine and I can't recommend her highly enough

If you're willing to go to Orange, Dr David Margileth is outstanding! He's associated with St. Joseph's Hospital. BS, if you need one, Dr Michele Carpenter is associated with St Joe's and hospital in Mission Viejo.
