I'm going to start Aromasin tomorrow morning. I decided to take it in the AM with my breakfast in case I have insomnia issues. How have you all handled it? What SE have you had? I tried Arimidex and it gave me a terrible, nonstop headache, nauseousness and I just wasn't myself. My Dr. said to try Aromasin and the pharmacist said the SE might be less too.

Any info would be great. Thanks!!

    mcgis,

In the Hormone Therapy forum there is another thread "Life on Aromasin" which may be helpful. It's full of information that may be helpful to you.

I take aromasin in the morning also. I started on arimidex and stopped due to an eye SE. It came back on aromasin, severe dry eye. It's manageable. I also had the usual aches and pains on both meds. A dry vaginal area. Nothing that I couldn't work around. The worse was trigger thumb, but a cortisone shot solved that problem. Two and a half years out, I'm fairly pain free. I stay active - running, walking, and lifting weights.

Hopefully you will do better on this med.

Hair loss has not been an issue for me. It grew back fine after chemo and doesn't seem any thinner than it became with menopause.

My SE have stayed about the same now for a year. Thumb joints, toes joints, vaginal dryness, and dry eyes are still with me. All manageable and tolerable once the trigger thumb was treated. The severe leg muscle and foot pain is gone from the first year on AIs.
