Bettina - You look amazing already! I sure hope to have the amount of hair you have in three weeks (like Akevia said...my wig will be off)! Thank you for the tip about the eyebrows..I will be stopping at the MAC counter to check it out this week. That's funny about the zombie -- I told my husband the other day that I look like an alien. My bottom lashes are already starting to come in though.....yay!

Hair or no hair, I would do it all again to be sure I had done what was needed to get rid of any nasty little cells floating around!

    Have a great day, girls

    Akevia,

Human hair grows about 6 inches a year. Although I'm still on Herceptin, since the beginning of August I've managed to grow about 3/4 of an inch of hair. Like several other posters my eyebrows have yet to start regrowing.

Keep the faith, your hair will eventually grow back.

    Best,

    bride

Bettina, yes it is! The kids are awesome! Yes post a pic after you use the color shampoo but I think your color is beautiful.

I am 22 months post last chemo and my hair is back to its normal color and texture. It came in as white fuzz, then went to curly brown, and now straight brown like I had. I'm very happy about that.

I had my last AC on November 5, 2012...I had enough hair 16 weeks after to feel comfortable without hats, scarves ect..I never did wear a wig. I was rocking the pixie...good luck on your hair growth, it feels like forever but it will come back..

Hi Girls,  I am so thankful I found this thread.  I too had AC followed by 12 weeks of taxol.  Last dose was the 4th November.  Mine did start growing while on taxol but it is really wispy & the top of my head is bald.  I've noticed that you girls have had it come in uniformly all over your heads.  I'm really worried I'm going to be left with a male pattern baldness look.  Also I had a few lashes & eyebrows....now they have all fallen out.  Has this sort of regrowth happened to anyone else.

    1. Hi Gretta,
    2. I don't think you're going to have make pattern baldness. My hair is just starting to grow back around the sides but not much on the top but I can see a little hair is starting to grow. This us week 7 for me and I'm still pretty bald, it will just take a while for it all to come in. I think AC is just really hard on the hair. Also I think most of us have lost lashes and eyebrows after chemo. Mines has started growing back now.

Not sure why numbers are by my post but can delete them.

Hi Gretta - I agree with Akevia that you won't have baldness. I've seen so many pictures of ladies that have the top of their head growing much slower than the sides and back. Don't worry, it will all come back. Mine is is just barely sprouting on the top where the bangs should be...which is about two weeks slower than the rest of my head.

As far as eyebrows and lashes, well the 2 or 3 that were still hanging on fell out two weeks ago which was 5 weeks post chemo, and everything is already filling in nicely. I think the top lashes will definitely take the longest...but I bet they will be to full-length within a month.

Since your hair already started growing, you are doing great. I was shiny bald until exactly 5.5 weeks post chemo and it's amazing how quickly it starts to fill in once it decided to grow! I've been taking 10,000mg of Biotin each day too.

    Take care

Thanks so much girls.  That makes me feel much better, just desperate to look like a woman again.  I truly appreciate your advise.  Will be checking out the Biotin.  Have either of you used anything else to encourage growth?

Totally understand, this disease takes so much of our femininity I am so sick of it!!!  Sounds like you're well on the way to your hair regrowing.  Thanks so much for starting this thread & the advice from you & the other girls.

I'm on Herceptin at the moment so hoping it doesn't slow it down too much.
