Here's what cheezed me off today

Here's what cheezed me off today... I don't think I can get my fake boobs tomorrow after all! I called the insurance company since I had been advised to check with them regarding the number of bras and prosthetics I would be allowed. After being on the phone for over an hour, we discovered that there are no in network places that sell mastectomy products within 98 miles of me! He kept finding prosthetic places but then when either one of us called them it would turn out they didn't sell mastectomy items. I would have to pay 100% for out of network! So, now I have to call the place I want to go to and get info from them, like their Tax id #, then I have to call the insurance company back and give them the info and ask them to process them as in network instead of out of network. It could take up to 15 days to get a response. In the morning I may call the place I have the appointment with to see if they charge for the fitting and if they don't, I may still go and figure out what I want and just not buy it until I hear back from the insurance company. Not sure if they will let me do that, but I suspect they will since surely the insurance company will have to agree to process it as in network if they can't provide me with the service any other way. I was looking forward to my new boobs, but at least I've been fine with these foam ones so I'll be fine waiting a little longer!

Mel , I keep this on my storage thread. Fierce Bluebird swore these were really comfortable for those off times when prosthetics were uncomfortable.Hi reposting this on some threads, may be old news to some, but to good of info not to pass this on,Sassy

I love my Knitted Knockers! They are light and soft and warm. Unlike my silicone prosthetic which is heavy and cold when first worn, then it later causes me to sweat.
I wear my knitted knockers inside a regular bra or tucked in the pocket of a mastectomy bra. They are beautiful, and a godsend to those of us with an uneven mastectomy scar.

Tonight I watched Attack of the 50 ft. Woman. Apparently large doses of radiation make people grow to great heights. So after all my rad treatments, how come I'm still 5 feet tall?! Let the short jokes begin........
-
Humpf! I shrunk an inch. Now I'm 5'3!
-
Hey, I resemble that remark :-). Used to be 5' 2", but now I think I'm 5' 1". What do you think I say when asked how tall I am? You think the shorter you are, the more cheezed off you get?
-
I thought it was getting harder to get stuff off the top shelves,. I got a grabber, free!
I live with giant people. DD is 5'10, DH is 6'3, SIL is 6'6. I laugh when they crack their heads on stuff. But then I have to listen to short jokes.
I'd rather be short, head hurts less.
Hey! Remember the old song, 5'2, eyes of blue........,, Is that you?
-
Ha! We can all say we're now 10 ft. tall and bulletproof! And we always have plenty of leg room. My DH is 6'3" and he has to sit on the aisle at movies. Take that, Gargantua!
-
I was 5'4" and lost 2. I don't feel any shorter, but it's affecting my clothing. I was long in the body and short in arms and legs. Now I think I'm short all over.
I am cheezed about getting 5 solicitations in the mail every day. They are all good causes, but we've probably gotten 50 in all by now. We're living on Social Security and generous donations are not in our future. We've received about 10 requests for one charity alone. They are reputable and I would if I could, but for the $ they're spending with mailings, they could have bought several turkeys to serve.
-
What cheezes me off about living with someone who's taller than you and they tend to put things on a high shelf. I'm 5'7 and my hubby is 6'. He thinks that if he puts something on a high shelf, I'll be able to reach it!
-
mom get a grabber, then whack him with it
-
lol
I yell at him and say "Hey gargantua arms, I'm not as tall as you, nor are my arms as long as yours. Can you at least try to put things where I can reach them without having to use a step stool"
-
Step stool????? Short people need ladders!!!!
-
sas - thanks for the info about Knitted Knockers! I checked out the site tonight and it looks great! glennie shared the link with me, too. I sent the link to the patterns to my sister and am going to see if she wants to make some for me. She is great at knitting and I know she could make some really easily. The only difficulty is that she lives in England so she would have to mail them to me and I'm not sure how much that will cost her. I wish I could knit, but I never got the hang of it!
To join in the conversation about shrinking...I, too, have lost about an inch. When my hubby and I got married, we were super close to the same height, but now I have to look up to him when we are barefoot. It is really strange to have shrunk!!! I'm 5'6" now. My oldest DD is 5'4" and my youngest DD is 5'2" so I'm still taller than them!
Check out my new profile picture...my little Chugg is sooo cute!
-
Wren, I never donate to charities that send all those mailings. They would take my money and just use it to send out more crap. You could always cross out your address and write return to sender, not at this address on them in the hope they take you off their list ;-).
-
The only place I send a donation to is a pet rescue. I don't send what they want, I send what I want.
-
Way to do it mom!
Darn dog!!!!!! Left my coffee on table, went to potty. Came back and he's licking his lips. And I had no coffee left. Wasn't Spookie, she couldn't reach it. Was DHs Poodle. He's acting fine, was a half cup
-
lol
Puppy has to have his coffee!
-
Posted this in another thread and wanted to update on this one, too...I had to share that my sister already emailed me back about the knitted knockers asking me all sorts of questions about how I want them, size, material, nipple or no nipple! Knowing her, she'll be done with them by Sunday!
-
I LOVE your chuggie! What a cute face!
Advantage # 2 of being Fun Sized- Hide stuff really low on shelves, cabinets, etc. Tall people are too lazy to bend down to look for stuff so they'll never find your secret stash of Snickers!
-
Good idea!!!!
-
Thanks, rohanna! That cute face allows my chugg to get away with everything. She gets into trouble then just turns on the charm and we forget everything she has done!!
-
Mel , I was banned in June for posting something that had multiple interest to a wide variety of people here on BCO. They since created a rule that something can't be posted simultaneousely on two threads. What the MODS don't get ----------will never get even though they are moderating this site. Is we don't go to all the threads. If I didn't have that in storage AND come to this thread---you would not know about KK.. From here it will fly all over Britain and Europe and beyond.I may be banned for saying what I have
Love you all. In case you don't see me again
-
sas - thanks for the info! I wasn't aware of that rule! My sister is so cool, and I guessed correctly - she already has some made for me and is making some more. Apparently there is a UK pattern that is different so she is going to try that one, too. Instead of having a shoe collection, maybe I'll start a fake boob collection - lol! I think I can fit them in my closest, but I would just have to keep my chugg away from them!
-
Mel, if you have not "met" Ariom on the All Things Bras and Prosthetics thread,, you should. She has an entire Foob-moire that we tease her about.
-
Glennie - oh, yes...I have read about Ariom's collection...it's quite impressive! In fact, I've printed out some of the suggestions she has given about bras, prosthetics and camisoles...it's sitting right here on my desk! At some point I know I will order some.
-
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I am so thankful for my BCO family! But I ate too much so this little Hobbitt is going to go veg out on the couch! Hugs and cake!
-
Happy Thanksgiving, too, rohanna and all! I also ate too much, but it was delicious! I said I wasn't going to, but, I couldn't resist! We have lots of leftovers for tomorrow and probably Saturday, too! By Sunday, I'll be ready for anything but turkey!!
-
My mother called my sweet kitten "evil" and thought it was funny. She has never met the kitten, only heard about her!
-
Happy Day-After Thanksgiving! No left overs here... went to a fancy restaurant with hubby and kids. I didn't want to clean (hubby cooks) and I wanted everyone to eat exactly what they wanted. It was nice, it gave us an outing together and we can get back to healthy eating today. The only bummer was the restaurant had pumpkin related deserts, but no pumpkin pie! WTF? Now I'll have to buy a pie. I was hoping to have just a couple of pieces and then not have the temptation of an entire pie around. Life's rough huh? :-)
-
rockym - wow...no pumpkin pie at the restaurant??? That is very weird, for sure! I had to resist the temptation of eating my piece of pumpkin pie right after my lunch leftovers. I was so stuffed, but all I could think about was the pie. But, I resisted...of course I WILL be eating that piece...just haven't done it quite yet!
