LB your DH sounds like a gem, wish I could 'help out' cause you know I have a sweet tooth Lyzzysmom agree, cancer sucks!!!! Brrrrrrr 24 degree, that sure sounds cold

Today I did a Grit class that was being filmed, it was the very first time the guy had taught a class and he was filming for assessment so that he can become an instructor I thought he did an excellent job, I was mad at myself as I forgot my Fitbit and I wanted to see how my heart rate worked as this class is HIIT at the end I was gulping air

No formal exercise, but lots of raking and hauling tarps of leaves to the compost pile- at least I was moving.

I ran up and down the basement stairs a LOT. Much improvement is needed. I look so tired, with really awful bags under my eyes and no color to my face. I took the past couple days to nap and relax. Hopefully I do some exercise tomorrow. I don't know how to address these awful bags under my eyes.

90 minutes on exercise bike while I read Grisham's Gray Mountain. I ride faster when I watch an action movie, but decided to read today.

I havebeen offline for a few days but I see that you have all been busy.

Badger and Mary-looks like you had fun and how fitting that your garage experience added a little exercise to your visit.

Ruth-LOL on your alarm clock story. I am amazed you actually got up and went after all that; did you go back to bed in your walking clothes?

What are the dates of the CA trip again?

I pulled a muscle in my leg after my run on veteran's day. I nursed it by taking 4 days off from running. Ran 3.4 miles at an easier pace today and hoping that is the end of it. It was intermittent but painful.

Ginger it's check in June 15th for 4 nights in Carlsbad, San Diego is the closest airport or I'm an hour and a half north so I'm driving down, you would fly into John Wayne airport (airport code SNA) and I could drive you down and for those flying into San Diego one of the San Diego ladies or I will do airport pick ups.

Did Body Pump this morning although I have to confess I got a 10 minute break when I had to go change a diaper for the instructors little boy

I should be out cleaning my car but started watching Oliver on TCM so will face the cold in a while.

Mom gave up driving (voluntarily) so I got her car and will give mine to DH as his is a 1998 POS.

Roast chicken for supper tonight, will make good leftovers and chicken soup too. Oom-pah-pah! ♥

Finally got back on the treadmill today and did some stretching. I'm hoping this week will be less hectic so I can try to get in a routine with it. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of Sunday!

Did an hour of spot toning with Denise Austin. Now I am off to learn about the 'Penguin Shake'. One of my Walking Wednesday friends is a die-hard fan of the Ellen Show. Apparently, Ellen is having a contest where people can submit videos of themselves doing this penguin dance & the friend has convinced some of us to come check out her idea........she is crazy, so who knows what she has in mind!!!! RhodyMMM, see hbcheryl's post above about the June trip. A few of us from this thread have been doing a meet-up in different cities around the country. I think 2015 will be year 5(?). Sorry you can't join us - maybe 2016!

Back to gym and pool today - 15 mins swimming (or what I call swimming which is more like fighting water!); 15 mins jogging and 30 mins water aerobics.

Joining this thread to keep myself accountable. I've always been pretty active (former competitive swimmer who loves to walk and hike and forces myself to run sometimes) but since I began treatment, I've been LAZY! Well, that is about to end.

Over the weekend, my husband and I were dogsitting for family friends who have a really big pool. I swam 5000 yards in two days. Also jumped on their trampoline for awhile. Never thought a trampoline would be such a good workout!

    Welcome to badatusernames.

Way to go the extra mile (or two) Nats!!!

My exercise this weekend was a lot of walking while running errands yesterday and today. Hectic week coming but will not let it interfering with my workout schedule.

    Have a good Monday ladies!

hbcheryl- thanks for the dates. Unfortunately, unless we have no snow days this year (not likely), I will still be teaching. Our last day is scheduled for Friday 6/12.

Was feeling tired and lazy yesterday but went to watch the Pats on Sunday night football in the basement and forced myself onto recumbent bike. I ended up doing 2hrs 15 mins, also with some reps on light hand weights. It turned out to be 670 calories and was in zone for 1 1/2 hrs. There were a couple of times when my heart rate went up about 5 beats just watching the TV. I took a short break at half time like the teams!

I have tried Zumba a couple of times but the Gym is having a 2 hour Zumba Party event tonight to raise money for diabetes (DH is type II). It says it is an into class which I need as sometimes I get lost in the regular class. If it says intro. then I will try and get there early and be up front instead of hiding at the back as I want to get a better view of the instructor. Of course I may chicken out and hide!!

My onc is insistent that I do moderate exercise five times a week.  I have been doing a cardio workout on the treadmill at my gym for years.  I do 5k each day and set the treadmill on a level five workout.  I don't run but I do an extremely brisk trot with about half the distance being on an incline.  It takes me about 43 minutes to complete the 5K and that includes the warm up and cool down.  Sometimes I find it so boring but then I think about all  the good things I am doing for myself, like bone health, cardio health, keeping my weight stable and down, lowering my circulating hormones, etc.

I was diagnosed stage 3 ILC in Nov 2004.  I have pain from the surgery and radiation but I try to work through it.  Sometimes I think the exercise actually helps the chronic pain I am left with.

Tried a new yoga class today...Vinyasa It was a bit more challenging than the basic yoga I usually do. Had a great workout and think I'll stick with this class. Weekends are hard for me get motivated to go to the gym. But posing on this board has definitely helped to motivate me during the week.

    Thanks all!

    Welcome, Jillian!

I went to yoga this morning, and because I won't make it to Zumba tonight (lyzzy, enjoy your Zumbathon!), I stayed and did 15 minutes on the ellipitical & 15 on the treadmill.

    Welcome Jillian.

Personal trainer week at my gym so a different trainer each evening will take a bunch through a routine. Tonight was a full body workout which shows how hopelessly out of shape I am. She says to mix up routines so you don't get bored and also it tricks your body into using muscles differently. Quite a workout but I'm not a personal trainer type so will continue on my own, just have to push myself more. Shouldn't be too hard as have doc appt Thursday at which time she is sure to confirm I'm pre-diabetic so need to get my butt in gear with nutrition and exercise.

In addition to her 30 min workout did few mins on bike and about 20 mins on treadmill.

Didn't sleep well last night so taking a benadryl and turning in before too long.

    Night my sculpted friends.

11/17- been a bit under the weather so my exercise has been off the past few days, but I am wearing my new garmin Vivofit fitness band and doing 8000 plus steps a day without my work out, closer to 12K when I am doing something on the bike, walking, etc. I hope to be able to get back to something in the next few days, I have a personal training session on wed I really want to do!

Patoo- I was where you are a few months ago and learned too how weak my body was after going through a lot with bc, and some other things the past few years. What I can share with you is to stick with it, and keep working at it every day, and you will be amazed as you watch your muscles strengthen, and you begin lifting or pressing more weight through time, etc. I am 10 weeks into it with my personal trainer and feel I have a much stronger body now, can do longer cardio work outs, have lost critical fat around my mid section, and have better energy. Oh and I notice the stiff joints I have in the AIs are a lot better now too. Doing personal training this year has been one of the best things I could have done for myself to get healthier and feel better after all that has gone on.

Jillian- I am glad you are able to exercise despite the pain. You are 10 years out from diagnosis too and it sounds like you are taking good care of yourself.

I've not been on for the past week but I am pleased to report that the voices have been heard. I am now going to the gym 3 times a week. Finally fired the old trainer and got myself a little girl who gets it. SmileSo she has written me 2 programs that she wants me to alternate, one for upper body/arms/back and one for back/hips/legs. And I can do them, I'm sweating by the end, but I can do them. My joints are finally freeing me from constant pain - not to say that it's all gone, but it's not waking me up in the night anymore. I'm sleeping and that means the world to me.

    Happy work outs, ladies.

    Deb
