Just curious what time of day most of you take your meds and do you take name brand or generic? I first took mine at bed time because some ladies said it made them tired but later, I switched to mornings because I thought maybe taking it and then going to bed was causing more joint pain. I just started taking it in August, so relatively new and trying to figure this all out. I think it has caused my blood pressure to go up too.

hi there Angelia. I take my anastrozole every morning with my morning vitamins, and then I try to be active for the next couple of hours -- hauling in firewood or doing around-the-house chores or taking my 3-mile walk, because I find that being active REALLY helps reduce the side effects. When I first went on anastrozole (Feb. 1st, 2014) I had a lot of the side effects people mention on here -- the hot flashes and slightly sick feelings, and clumsy-feet feelings. But as the months go by, I have felt fewer and fewer side effects. I still have a few -- mainly the first moment when my feet hit the floor in the morning when I get out of bed: my ankles ache and my feet are heavy, and I feel like I can barely walk for a minute. But by the time I go into the bathroom to pee, already that feeling is going away! ;- ) And sometimes my left ring finger is swollen and sore.

As far as which time is better to take the Arimidex, I would definitely say take it in the morning. I tried taking it at night, but my sleep suffered (it caused me insomnia AND hot flashes) so I switched to the morning, and it’s been much better ever since. Hope this helps.

    Katherine
