8 Years .... And I Missed It!

I just realized this afternoon that my 8 year anniversary from diagnosis was last Sunday, Nov 9th, and I completely missed it!!
After the mastectomy, 4 months of chemo, 5 weeks of radiation, agonizing over the loss of my hair (and more importantly my eyelashes!), reconstruction surgery, 5 years of AI's and now on tamoxifen, ongoing battles with mild lymphedema, I really never thought I would get to a time in my life that I would just let that day pass without a thought.
But I did. And I just want to encourage those of you not as far along on this journey that you will get here too. A time when it finally is not the daily worry that it once was. A time when life is a little bit closer to how it used to be.
Of course it could also be that I was too busy watching our Seahawks beat the Giants.
Go Hawks!!!!
Bless you all and keep the faith!

Cyndi, Huge congratulations on this super milestone. So what if you missed it because you were so involved with your life! That's the way we want it to be for all of us; cancer on the way, way back burner, or completely off the radar. (Ya, I mixed my metaphors, but you get it!)

It is wonderful to " forget ".. A Big congratulations to you. Enjoy !

Happy Dance time. Someone posted awhile back about the 8 th year anniversary. Her motto was, Ain't That Great, I made it to 8.
Lots of us replied on a catchy 9 line....
Hope for all of us we can do the same....Come back next year.....
