Hi all. S&S, I'm with you and need those voices. Just can't get it going but need to so my blood sugar can get back down to an acceptable number. Unlike you I don't like cooking so think I will check out the Diet to Go program. WW worked for me about 15 years ago but was a lot of work and meetings. Don't think I can do WW online; may as well do loseit.com which I will start up again. Maybe do some of their challenges to keep me on track. One goal is to lose a nice number before I see you all in June - can't have you all in mini-bikinis and me in a mau-mau.
Exercise tonight was vacuuming and shampooing carpets. Tomorrow the gym.
Night my sculpted friends.

11/7-second work out of the day, a nice end of the day 30 min/2 mile walk!
Ruth- I love that. I like to eat a lot too!
Patoo- I had a rapidly rising A1C last year. I cut out all desserts/sugar from my diet and also was told to keep my carbs to 45 grams per meal. It works, I got it back to the normal range this year.
-
I walked about a mile just before noon today, timing was great because 10 minutes after I got back to work it started to sleet/hail/snow and I brought a snowball in and asked my boss if she wanted to have a snowball fight! Rowing class tomorrow morning, not sure if we will go out on the water or stay inside and erg. Happy Friday everyone!

Mary, my bootcamp is a variety of circuit training workouts. We do all kinds of stuff like run sprints, push weight plates or football sleds loaded with weights, lots of pushups, burpees, sledgehammer tires, kettlebell thrusts, flutterkicks, box runs, squats (with or without kettlebells), lunges and tons of other exercises. If it is a smaller class, we do barbell workouts. I like to joke that we do everything like on the tv show Biggest Loser. I love the variety of the workouts and the fact that it pushes me so much more than I ever would on my own.
Wonderland, hope you kick that cold to the curb soon. Ruth, that saying fits me too.
Exercise today was a 2.5 mile run on the treadmill after work plus weights.
Edited cuz I hit the stupid button too soon!

Thanks Jazzygirl. I don't add sugar but need to cut out the snacking and drink more water. Will also start to monitor my carbs.and need to get into some more strenuous exercises. Note to self: DO IT!

Did 15 mins on cross trainer then decided to attend a 1 hour group class for the first time. It was low impact, mainly leg work but with some small weights and contained mainly ladies in their 50s and 60s like me. It was not too tough but left my legs and glutes feeling nice and tight, Then the bad news. The instructor had decided her over 40 ladies were up to a doing a boot camp which sounds exciting BUT it is to be on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day when I have to work. Grrr! Never mind. Now I have tried a group class I think I will try Zumba!
-
You are all inspiring! I am trying to get back into more aerobic exercise. I will try to follow your great examples!
-
I did an hour walk today.....thanks for all the inspiration on this thread!!
-
Welcome momwriter and Nash. Ruth that saying goes for me too. Wonderland hope your cold passes quickly.. Odie your Bootcamp sounds fabulous. Patoo with your stairs you could do a great indoor workout.
Well tonight I tried something new, 24 Hour Fitness are adding a new Les Mills class called Grit, they have 3 parts Grit Strength, Grit Plyo and Grit Cardio so they had a teaser class with a master trainer who is in town to train new trainers we did Grit Strength, I was complimented on my squats getting up and down off the floor is always challenging for me but I did it, it's fast you are down doing Plyo, Regular and Tricep push-ups then you jump up (well for me is was struggle up) grab a weight and do jump squats it's only half an hour and I was sweating rivulets of liquid awesome,as I was going up the stairs to leave the club my quads were already screaming goodness knows how they're going to be tomorrow
-
Welcome writer & Nash! This IS the best thread!!!!
lyzzy, Zumba is the favorite class I have ever taken! It is so much fun that the time speeds by! At first, just watch the instructors feet & don't worry about doing it right. The steps will come.
-
Thanks for all the warm welcomes! I will do some exercise tomorrow and post it.
-
Spin class this morning, thought it would be nice to 'flush my legs' after the beating they took last night but oh nooooo today was mountain climbing Spin but I made it through.

-
I went for a 40 minute walk/run this morning. I managed to run about six times during that walk but only for a couple of minutes each time. Still hurts but I felt good after I did it and that I got myself out in this 45 degree, damp weather. I came home and raked leaves and mowed the lawn for two hours. I wish I could report I was done but there will be more for tomorrow and/or next weekend.
Cheryl, friends do make fitness more fun, even if its remote friends!
-
I got up and rowed 5,000 meters on my rowing machine and then did some serious house cleaning for an hour and a half. I'm hurting now! Not sure if it's from overdoing it or the new drug (examestane) that I started this week. Some of the aches and pains are quite reminiscent of how I felt on Arimidex. Time will tell I guess. But at least I got a good workout today!

45 minutes on the treadmill & 20 of abs.
-
Ruthbru, I did do the Zumba class this morning and it WAS fun. There were a lot of people in class and I hid near the back so it was difficult to see the instructor clearly . A couple of ladies in front of me looked like they knew what they were doing so I copied them (kind of)!! I can't get to the gym at the time of tomorrows zumba class but I will definitely try and have another go next week!
-

Glad to see you are up & running, Badger!
lyzzy, when you get a little more comfortable, sneak up closer to the front so you can see the instructor better. Glad you had fun!!!!
