mel, you actually make me feel better about the AI's. If your onc. didn't prescribe them and we were the same stage, maybe my onc is just being cautious.

Rock, I have to admit that when I would get off the AI for a while before I started another, I would feel so much better. I fear that some of the SE's may have become permanent. Yep, I'll take feeling well over "all stove up" as we say down here!

rohanna - that's a good way to look at it - that your onc was just being cautious...definitely makes me feel better, too!  There's another July Surgery sister whose stats were almost identical to mine and her onc also did not recommend anything, so there is another one!

So, now I have to mention what cheezed me off yesterday...it's actually been an ongoing frustration but came to a boiling point yesterday...not having enough hours at work to get the things done I want to accomplish.  It's been a constant problem the whole time I have worked there. On Friday I was given an extra 5 hours for one month starting this week, but all week I've had to stop what I wanted to work on to fix some issues that came up last minute and had to be dealt with immediately.  So then yesterday some people decide to complain, about what you might ask...the project I had to put on hold.  Argh!!  Always two steps behind!!  At least it will make it clear to my manager that I need the extra hours, so maybe it will be more permanent than a month.  Today is a fresh, new day and my day off.   I will be enjoying some time with a few friends at church in the morning and then I will be able to work some of those extra hours this afternoon from home.  I am letting go of what I can't control so I can be stress free!

The insensitive jerk off who had the nerve to berate my niece for telling her family and friends that she was changing her habits because of her determination to not end up like my sister and her grandfather had. I flipped out on the punk and told that piece of garbage to shut his mouth!

The little scuzzball had the nerve to say that because my niece has health problems due to meds she was on when she was younger it was her fault that she now has them and that she should just die instead of trying to change to a healthier lifestyle! He even dared to call her a fat waste of space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I let him know in precise terms what I thought of him and where he could stuff his hateful opinion!

There's a waste of space here but it's the scuzzball, not the niece.

Yep. told the little punk that he doesn't know what my niece has been through so he had no right to open his yap in regards to my niece.

Where do people get off thinking they can just open their mouths and spew out any garbage they think?  I just don't understand. We should come up with some really good comebacks. Like "If your opinion mattered, you'd have been born with a brain." Personally I like the one I heard on the Real Housewives of the OC "Is your @#$hole jealous of the s%&t that comes out of your mouth?"

Went to vote today and stopped to talk to a lady and her daughter. They have a relative that was going in for her first chemo treatment today. I invited her to join us, but I wish all we ever had to be cheezed about was the weather. *sigh*

Today I'm cheezed off because the city of Ft Lauderdale arrested a 90 year old man and 2 pastors because they **gasp** fed the homeless in a city park!!  90 year old man has been feeding the homeless for over 2 decades!!  Really, people??  Is this a good use of taxpayer money??     I guess the homeless should just starve.

And I'm pissed about our billionaire governor buying another term and that Amendment 2 for medical marijuana did not pass.

Everyone will want to go to Ft Lauderdale now, cuz they got rid of the homeless by starving them. **new tourist commercial**

I'm not a Christian,, but seriously,, What would Jesus do??   Not tell the 90 year old man to "put down that plate."

I'm pretty sure the majority of religions are for feeding the hungry. I worked with a woman who was a Buddhist from Thailand. She said people took food to the temples as offerings. Anyone who needed the food was welcome to take it home.

Rohanna, That is a great idea. I work for Domestic Violence so I would like to thank you.  Even though I am here in ND it seems to be increasing and is so very scary the things that these gals and sometimes guys are going though and the poor kids/ :(

ndgrrl, you work for Domestic Violence? Then I thank YOU! Already took one load of bears. Gonna take another one this Friday. In fact, I'm going to make this a regular thing. What an awesome idea and God Bless you and everyone who works in this field!

I live near a major interstate and see a lot of the homeless. I buy extra cans

of this or that and put some with bottled water and crackers or bread and leave the bag in my car. When I see someone on the interstate, I pull over a little past them and leave the bag. Now that winter's here, gonna throw in some socks and gloves!

    Everyone have a cheezeless weekend!

Rohanna,  Hi. That is a great idea what you do for the homeless. Because of the oil in ND- though it is in the Western part of the state and I am in the East it still is affecting us all and we have homeless here. I am on the board of the local food pantry and used to be in charge of it and it is being utilized way more now then it ever was and I am in a very small town.  My daughter and her b/f live in a college town and will go to the dollar menu at McDonalds and buy burgers and include water and give it to the homeless. Many are just trying to pass through to the western ND where the oil is or go back home.  ND has changed.

Tamoxifen is going ok, but I do find myself tired. I am not sure if it is from the Effexor they put me on for the night sweats or if the Tamoxifen is doing it. I also noticed my hips starting to ache. I see a diff Oncologist. Mine left- this month and I will be asking him why suddenly after a year my hips are achey.  Do you also take it?  If you are, how is it going?

ndgrrl, what a great idea about the dollar menu! My daughter suggested today to add some milk bones because some of the homeless travel with dogs.

I have been on Tamoxifin, Arimidex, Femera and Aromasin. The side effects were too debilitating for me. I'm working with my onc to try to find something that works but I just can't take them. Some of my SE's are permanent.

It isn't unusual to get SE's after a year. I was on Arimidex for 2 years before they showed up. And Effexor made my hair fall out! So it's back to Prozac. Hope you have better luck!

ndgrrl, just a heads up on the achy hips... I started having a pain in my left hip area each morning when I woke up. It would go away after getting up and moving. I believe it was specifically around the upper thigh, but the moment I mentioned it to my MO, he sent me in for a whole body bone scan. I didn't want to have the scan because although I told him the area was the hip, I was thinking it was really the thigh. When I called to tell them I had been a tad inaccurate and that it was the thigh and not the hip, they said it was all in the same. My MO was looking for possible mets and I was scared out of my shoes. I later found out that any good MO will do this scan if there is hip pain so perhaps be ready for the order.

Rohanna, What kind of cat is that in your avatar? We have one in the sick bay at the shelter. She is not a happy camper and growls the minute you open the cage door. Although tonight she didn't when she saw I had a food dish.

Wren, that is my 20 year old male Siamese. I wish I could come and get your sick baby from the shelter. I love a Siamese! They're very vocal and she may not be growling as much as "talking". Siamese make different sounds than other cats. After you feed her for a while, she'll be your best friend. Sounds like she's grown up feral so it may take her more time to settle down. Please let me know what happens to her.

She will likely be transferred to a purebred rescue or put into foster care to see how she really is there. She might perk up in a larger space with more chances to exercise. She's really beautiful, so someone will want her.
