Both sound good, but I put in 4 boneless skinless chicken breast, 1/2 package of low sodium taco seasoning, and 1/2 cup salsa. You cook on low in a crock pot for 5 hours. It is tricky I really have to time it.

I serve it with beans, lettuce and a bit of cheese on a tortilla.

Wonderful good, and a WW recipe.

Super. I never put the entire package of taco seasoning into my tacos because my son thinks it's too spicy and won't eat them. He's a guy who mostly likes white foods.

So now I've got something to do with that 1/2 package.

They make super breakfast tacos too, I added the beans and some cheese for breakfast tacos this morning. They sloped it up!

I have some frozen turkey chili I think I will eat for lunch. I am ready it was below 70 about 4 AM here. That is cool enough for me!

I've done breakfast burritos, they're good for putting into the hands of children who're leaving without having eatten anything. Maybe I'll give tacos a try.

It's plenty cool here, but rainy.

Our lab had escaped and we were on the way to feed goats. The goats tumped over their water, and were just not listening today! It was an all out rebellion! Now I have to focus on dinner.

I really hate it when I am out of ideas, and sick of cooking. I have a rump roast but I need something to cook it with.

CG - found something about goats on slate:
    Quote:

The goats are the only animals that regard their viewers with a canine curiosity, mounting the fronts of their pens to greet visitors. Goats are said to be intelligent, and perhaps this cockiness is due to their awareness that they, along with the horses, are just about the only animals exhibited at the fair whose future does not lie a few yards away, deep-fried on the end of a stick.

We're going away this weekend - I will:
not buy fudge or other junk at gas stations eat an apple for a snack have a nice dinner

I have dubbed Gus as the town crier. He stands on the pyramid and cries when we arrive, like the steers and other goats didn't see us drive up. They are soooo curious and yet mischevious, like small children. You put a new item in their pen and they all have to smell it, lick it and paw at it!

The pig kids that have pigs in the next barn, visit our pigs from time to time. They just love them, but are frightened too. I let them feed two the other day, they were so excited!

Why oh why does junk food at a gas station tastes so good? I used to stop every time I got cash and went out of town. It was a really hard habit to break. I can still taste those little white donuts!

I am making a roast today, and I have decided to my jambalya tomorrow. I am in the mood for exotic food! Cleaned out the fridge, I can see the shelves again!

    Okay back to homeschooling.

Kathy - have you ever made your roast with a can of pepsi, can of cr. of mushroom soup and packet of onion soup mix?? If not and you want to add a little sugar and fat to a perfectly fine piece of meat you should try it - it tastes great and makes a nice gravy.

Don't let the looks of it when your mixing the stuff up fool you - it cooks up yummy.

Donuts I can pass, it's the cookies in the display case that seem to always come back to the car with me.

pepsi, mushroom soup, onion soup ???? I can't say I've ever heard of that. I can't make gravy for the life of me, at least I'd have some sauce.

My FIL uses onion soup on everything! I have heard of a Cola Roast but not all these together! Wow makes me want to make another one. Thanks for sharing.

Rose Gravy takes years, I spent two years as a newlywed making gravy. My DH ate a lot of terrible gravy those years. Now I am expert. Two things I learned is flour has to be browned and it must be premixed into a bit of water. Sometimes it helps to take it off the heat to add it.

So I am going to the store for lunch and supper things, no idea what I will buy!

    I did good!

My only downfall was some of those new Reeses Peanut butter cups - with caramel and peanuts. This was at 11:30 pm after a terrific traffic jam trying to go across the Bay bridge.

Otherwise my diet was very well behaved.

my diet is in the pits...eat at the food court every lunch... hope to have a day off so ican get my lunches and snacks on track...

bf is great but condo has not sold.

son is great as a freshman in college can be...

    Glad to see you Laura!

Sorry the job is hellish. But remember, it's not the destination, it's the journey. After being off for awhile it will help to have been back in the rat race, even in a rotten job. You can move to something better when it turns up and you'll already be accustomed to the mill. Hang in there!

I hope you aren't hanging on a limb about the condo. Things aren't looking so great on the realestate front.

Eatting at the food court? What's wrong with a brown bag? Healthier and cheaper! Maybe you can get to the store this weekend and stock up.

Sorry about the job--are you on your feet all day? Too many hours? Somethimes it takes awhile to get comfortable with the new coworkers, employer, supervisor, company rules, etc..... At least you've got some money coming in and can look for something else.

I do as Rose does; brown bag. That way I eat better and spend less. AND have more time to enjoy the break!

    Glad to hear from you.

I am going to start brown bagging as soon as i get a day off to get to lay in the supplies...I am good at home , eating healthy, but am like a kid in the candy shop at lunch....yah i see those healthy salads but never seem to opt for the healthy choices...

Brown bagging is the only way to go...

I am shocked at how dirty the store is.... Lots of guys who don’t wash their hands on lots of common machines...I wipe everything down when i get there each day, it is really gross and it seems the cleaning crew can get through the vacuming but little else.

A new store, due to merger and not enough staff, no time for training and really messed up inventory..It took three hours to ring up a sale for the first couple days..

Very stressful... I am blown away with how little compassion and politeness the general population shows each other...

I was hired to work twenty hours and they have me doing forty and now i have to go in on my day off today...

I just need to get through this and remember that this is just a step a long the way

Dropped the condo price 5% hope we see some action...

Went to the onc for check up, going to have a pet scan on the 22nd...
am not expecting any bad news...

well hi ho hi ho, its off to work i go!

I talk a good game, but at the food court I'm at S'Barro. Love that pizza! I do get extra napkins to mop all the grease off it - that way it's healthy, right?!

I like the S'barro pizza, but you do need to do the napkin thing! I had a turkey/blue cheese panni Saturday. Oh it was good! I knew I was headed the wrong way but I just couldn't help myself. Made good with a diet coke!

If you're working you can't be hungry. A regular boring hamburger from McD isn't a bad choice. Short on fiber, longish on fat, but better than the fancier choices. If they have a Subway that would be my first choice - at least until you get some groceries.

Those burritos from Chipolte are nearly 1,000 calories!

Don't let them stick you with all the cleaning up. Wipe off the things you touch, and point out what you need housekeeping to do!

I had one officemate would close the door when the cleaning lady came by to vacuum, said it was too noisy. I've had several other officemates since then, and the one rule I lay out is that when she comes by with her vacuum -- we stop and let her do her work!

I have a small can of lysol and some hand sanitizer from Body/Bath. I really do think you get sick from contact with surfaces germy people have already touched.

    Hoping your condo does something!

Sorry to hear you have to work such long hours-and your day off too. They must be looking for more staff so your hours can be cut back. Most employers like parttimers because they don't require the same kind of benefits.

Customers actually wait through 3 hours? The store must have quite a few new employees and not enough longtimers. And inventory problems. Wow! I see why the job is so tough! Hopefully these problems will disappear over time--a short time!!

Don't know what to say about the cleanliness; hope you have a good supply of hand sanitizer.

well i made it, five days in a row and two glorious days off!

laying in the hand sanitizer and got some alcohol to clean the keyboards (okay, i have to do it, a contol freak here)

    the keys are just gross!

one co-worker was hacking all day sunday and came in last night with a full blown cold, i am fighting it off now...

full-time with federated is 30 hours for full benefits, that is what i am working for...

    that and retirement...:)))

denise, hope your reconstruct is everything and more!

thank you ladies for all the support, you are just as good as a slice at s'barro's!

stay well and enjoy the changing seasons!

i met a lady today that has over 200 rose bushes and she invited me over to see her garden... might take her up on it in a few weeks...

all i have now is a basil plant and a strawberry plant...

    they are beautiful!

Q-tips can do keyboards. Too much liquid will mess them up. I think washing your hands may be the best way to go.

Somebody went to the supply place and brought me back a can of compressed air.

I don't know about strawberry plants, seems like I'm always pulling those out from where they shouldn't be.

My son is in southern California and he gets more colds than we do in the Midwest. I think it's everybody traveling year round to some warmer place. They take their colds to CA!

My son washes his hands so much they're red most of the winter! Even with lots of lotion his hands are a mess. Touching germs on a key board and putting hands to mouth/nose would be a good way to get a cold. Watch those doorhandles too. Our grocery stores have large wipes when you walk in to wipe off the cart handles with. I appreciate that.

Glad you got thru the week and doooo enjoy your weekend off!

    Laura,
Thanks, my Lat Flap is doing very well and I will be going back to work in a couple of days (darn).
I don't know how I will do, as cleaning houses and offices will be a lot harder than sitting around like a slug and doing absolutely nothing for 6 weeks.
But it is soooo nice to have my body parts back!

Is your lat flap on your dominate side? I'd think pushing a vacuum might be hard.

    Rose,
Thanks goodness I am right handed and my Lat is on the left. But I vacuumed my family room last night and could even feel it a bit on my left side.
I think that for a couple of weeks, I will just set the vac controls higher, so I don't have to push as hard-but don't tell my customers!

When you vacuum try to tighten your torso and transfer the strain to your core.

Have you ever been to www.stayingabreast.com?
That woman had a TRAM so she's focused on things for rehabbing from that, but she does have good stretches and exercises for recovering.

The last time I was there it said she's passed on, which is a bummer. But I got so much out of her program I always pass it on.
