FEMARA blurry vision, memory loss, cognitive reduction

hi, i write these for my mom, age 55, who was take FEMARA for about 1 months

and suddenly, after woke up in the morning, she just lose her cognitive ( can't wear shirt , pants, doesnt know what to do ) or as i say "brain fog"

and i'm really surprise she just loss her memory ( cant say things, colours, etc )

and she said she had blurry visions

just last night i still chatting and laugh with her and suddenly these "thing" come ...... so i just stopped femara for her since today, and really HOPE these side effect will go away.. 

my mom had BC since 13 years ago, but these 4 years she just fine, and last 1 months her onco told to take FEMARA once a day..

i know this forum may had hundreds same topic about my topic, but now i'm really panic and dont know what to do, since all this things come suddenly..

i wonder if anyone have had these symptomps too ? and recovered ??

and i wonder anyone had ever STOP taking FEMARA ever  and how about the side effect ? healed or not ?

    So sorry to hear what she is going through! Has she contacted her doctor today? Or gone to the hospital? If not, we would strongly suggest that she go into today, perhaps with you or another caregiver, who could help describe what is going on. It may, or may not, be related to Femara. Here is a list of possible side effects. Please let us know what she finds out.

    Side effects of Femara

    Because Femara lowers the amount of estrogen in the body, less estrogen reaches bone cells, which can lead to bone thinning and weakening and a higher-than-average risk of broken bones. This side effect can be very troubling for some women. If you have osteoporosis, your doctor may recommend that you take tamoxifen rather than Femara because of this possible side effect.

    Other common side effects of Femara are:

    Joint pain from taking Femara can be troubling. But a 2008 British study suggests that women who experienced joint pain while taking hormonal therapy medicine were less likely to have the breast cancer come back (recur). Knowing that this side effect might indicate a reduced risk of the cancer coming back may help some women stick with treatment despite the side effects.

    Some women may have other side effects while taking Femara:

    Some side effects may mean that you're having an allergic reaction to Femara. If you have shortness of breath or chest pain, call your doctor immediately.

    You need to call the Dr. Who gave her Femara today.  Make sure you tell them all that is going on with you mom. And insist she be checked out by someone to make sure it is the drug and not something else. Let us know how you made out. Will check back later.

    Call her Dr ASAP at least!  Or get her to an ER!  There are other possibilities as to what is going on.  Immediate medical care is imparative for a good prognosis.

    thank you so much for the reply,  my mom symptom as i saw many article maybe called by "brain fog"

    anybody experience it ? and anybody know how long it takes to recover fram that ?

    i agree take her to emergency room. Could be a stroke or other problem.

    GET HER TO A DR - ASAP!

    No one here can tell you what is going on -  ONLY A DR CAN! 

    If she has blurry vision, can't remember, doesn't know to wear clothes and the other things you wrote do not point to 'fog' from chemo or femara/letrozole but something that needs to be evaluated by a DR.  Stroke is a possibility.

    The sooner a Dr sees her the better - not 'normal'.

    We urge you to treat this problem seriously and get her to her Doctor or ER today as it may be something serious. Please do not delay. Only a doctor and probably a hospital with the necessary diagnostic equipment may be required to diagnose the problem that is so sudden.
