It was a really cold weekend; so I am grateful the weather is supposed to rebound this week....it's too early to be that cold!

This morning in the newspaper, in a column where a doctor (who is a professor at Harvard Medical School) writes medical advice, a lady with a bad case of shingles wrote in and he told her that once she recovers; YES, she should get the shingles vaccine, "It will help prevent a recurrence of shingles." So even if you have already had shingles you should get the vaccine.

Grateful for the beautiful blue October sky and a tinge of color change in some of the trees.

Today I am grateful I met Kathy, who works at the bc center. She listened to what i said and had some strategies for me to try out. It feels like a pretty good fit.

Cheryl I don't doubt what you said about "Princess Elsa". Do you have any idea how many stores i had to go to, to even find an Elsa - lots of Anna's though. Poor Anna.

Ruth, I will have to ask my Dr again about that. Years ago when I had shingles (o my, I remember it well and do Not want that experience again) I too was told once you've had them, the vaccine is useless. But medicine has certainly changed since then so....

Onco, glad you are just floating through it all. Sometimes it feels like I am just treading water. OK enough swimming references. Happy you are enjoying your swims.

Jazzy, glad you are back to work. What kind of consulting do you do?

    Have a nice evening all.

    ;-)

haven't been here in a while (lurking), but have to share: grateful we got Mom to ER this weekend and after a couple days in the hospital for observation, she's back to her old cheerful self (eating, drinking, and missing dad). Second, there aren't sufficient words to express my gratitude and love for all my BCO sisters and friends who are always there for me!!!

Grateful for the monthly meeting i attend for women non profit leaders.  We all work in "small shops" with 2 or 3 staff.  So to come together, support, ideas etc.  A wonderful afternoon.  Like BCO, you know you are not alone

10/7- grateful to be through 2 of 3 days of work this week on my new assignment. So far so good.

Red- I am a project manager that does system implementation and and business process work for my clients. Right now, mostly in healthcare.  I gather by your comment you work in accounting?

2nd time- so good to hear about your mom. May she continue on in good health!

I need to jump on this bandwagon and say just how grateful I am for the support and encouragement of my BCO sisters too.

Jazzy, yes accounting. And we are switching over to SAP in January. Sigh. Plus a new online payroll program in Dec. Double sigh. Lol I do wish though that it wasn't around the holiday season.

2TA welcome home. Good to hear your mom is doing better.

Nel, your non-profit group sounds very interesting.

Onco, yay to no lorazapam! Good for you.

I am so very grateful for breastcancer.org website.  I have been going through the diagnostic process for 3 1/2 weeks now and still worried that I have cancer. I did a lot of research and a lot of googling. This website has been the total best place for support and information.  I spend a lot of time reading the links and "lurking", but I am learning a lot. I still probably won't know anything for a couple more weeks, but with what I see on this site, I know that it I do have cancer, this group will be a great support system.

Welcome MemereL. Sorry you are here, but it is a great place for information and support. Keep coming back, and let us know whatever you find out.

Grateful for my fun Wednesday Walking friends, the nice fall walk we took this morning, and breakfast that followed. Smile

10/8- grateful for the class I am taking with the local university that is bringing me some new skills and is very enjoyable so far. Off to class #3 tonight!

Red- good luck with your SAP install. I have done work with Peoplesoft and Lawson, but never SAP. Wishing you a smooth conversion!

Grateful today that my mom's procedure  at the hospital went off without a hitch and she was well enough when i brought her home to go for a little walk albeit with her cane. She even ate a decent dinner tonight. Yay!

    Onco, what's French Silk?

MemereL, welcome and sorry you have to be here all at the same time. You will find us a friendly bunch and we all support each other. Come to laugh, cry, rant and rave or just to chat. We've all been where you are now and the love and encouragement got us through.

    Honeybair? Forgiveness? Is all okay?

Mommy, Hooray for good news on your CT. Happy Happy Dance!

2TA, I remember when you were doing testing in Marchish, has it really been that long. Glad it came through with an interview finally. And good going on the second opportunity for employment too. Sorry to hear about your DH, happy he is back home and you finally got some sleep.

Nel, I don't have the discipline to work from home. Correction, I could probably make myself sit down and work daily, but the structure of going to a set place for a set number of hours is easier on me. Glad you're able to make it work for you.

Jazzy, thanks for the good wishes on SAP. After we get it installed and through the first 6 weeks, I'm headed for the Caribbean with my DH and my mom. Yippee!

Have a good night everyone, talk to you tomorrow.

    Hugs'n'kisses,

    Deb
