"oh, I have a hang nail, I can't play today. But send me my zillion $ check anyway"

Yeah  tell that to the woman with 3 kids doing chemo, sicker than anybody should be allowed, who is wondering how she's going to feed those kids. Who is wondering who will take care of those kids if she's gone.

    Pro sports=GRRRRRRRRRR

Simply put the one thing that cheezed me off today when I am not feeling so hot..... my hubby!

Its okay for him not to feel good, but not me???????????? No, I'm expected to do everything despite feeling like crud!

So don't.  The dust bunnies will be waiting.  If he wants dinner, HE can go pick it up or cook it.  YOU are allowed to feel like crap. And don't hesitate to tell him so!  Maybe take him to a dr appt or chemo session.

Awwww poor Punkin Not! Now is the time it's all about YOU! He needs to pull up his big boy pants, get over himself, and take care of you.  My son in law had to have that talk with my DH.

    lol

He's usually pretty good about leaving me be when I'm not feeling so great but today was not one of those days.

He griped about what was I planning for dinner and I told him "remember the lasagna I made Saturday, well, then that is your dinner!"

Here's an idea. Yank off one of your DH's testicles, burn him 36 times on his scar with a curling iron until he has 3rd degree burns, fill him full of chemicals that completely debilitate him, thoroughly  beat him every day and yell, "Now get in there and make me some dinner!" Men, can't live with 'em, can't hide the bodies!

Hubby was being nice after being a regular butthead yesterday when I wasn't feeling so well. Usually I have to get my own coffee in the morning, he shocked me by bringing me a cup instead of making me get it

Yeah, you won't catch me wearing pink this month (it's not seasonal, for one thing!) and possibly never again. I have a favorite pink jeans jacket that I've worn until it's soft as can be - but after last month's dx. I don't know if I'll ever be able to put it on again... Maybe in time. But never in October!

I totally love this thread. I have not been diagnosed yet, but signs are not looking good (BiRad 4c), so I think I will add my gripes to the thread. :) Went to a 1:30 radiology appt yesterday and was not called in until 2:45. While I was in the waiting room, there was some woman who kept telling me about how she is on welfare and they wanted to "only give me $55 per month" but she fought with them and will get a lot more now. (she is not a cancer patient, she was only there for routine mammo, because I asked her. She picked the wrong person to talk to about that stuff. Then, this other woman, who was in her 50's had too much makeup 1980"s big hair, leopard shirt and white bell bottoms with swirly mesh cutouts. She kept playing loud Russian rock music on her kindle and it was REALLY loud.  Her name was Ozmarina and I wanted to hit her, but controlled myself.  Then, I get called in and was having tomography and the tech did ot know how to use the machine, so had to keep getting people to show her what to do. Every time she left the room, she would leave the door open with me having my boobs having out.  Also, when I tried to look at my chart, she took it away.  So, then when I talked to the radiologist, she wants me to have an MRI before having the biopsy, because the biopsy might change something.  Now, I have been ALL day trying to schedule the MRI and I am so sick and tired of being on hold and getting disconnected and leaving messages that no one returns.   I think I need a drink.

Sorry to hear that you are getting the run around about scheduling the MRI.

I'm filling my gas tank today, I see a concrete truck with **local co. name** supports Susan G Kommen, in pink on the mixer barrel

Then, while picking up the grands at school, a grandma age woman goes by wearing a black t shirt says, don't let Cancer steal second base.

    Gonna be a long month

I hear ya MemereL.  I had a cleaning lady walk in when I was getting an ultrasound, I was not impressed. Also the tech missed the cancer completely and found a cyst which I now watch every 6 months- If I had not gotten firm with the doctors nurse saying I had a bad bad Mammo with a family history of cancer they were going to go off what the ultrasound tech found. UFFF..I can not even imagine how advanced my cancer would have been had I waited a year as the ultrasound suggested.  Sometimes you just have to be your own advocate and stand tough. Hard to do I know. I finally got an MRI last month after I was reduced to tears in the MO office. I had been trying to get one for a year. He basically told me I needed to move past breast cancer and not be so focused on my breasts- UMMM isn't that why a person is seeing the MO - I wasn't there for a hang nail.  But he is leaving now which I actually was happy about so I see a well seasoned MO for the next year which I am actually quite happy about:)

    Good luck

Still hadn't heard anything about the referrals I need for my two upcoming appointments. Got so frustrated with it that hubby called the docs office to find out their status only to be told that the girl who handles that was not in today, so I have to call tommorrow when she'll be there!

Hopeful8201,MemereL and ndgrrl, know that we are here for you day and night. We've been through this and understand as only a BC sister can. Prayers and hugs coming your way.

Dealing with BC is bad enough without having to deal with incompetent caregivers and idiots in the waiting room.  sas said it best when she told us to be your own advocate, do your research and don't take any crap! (paraphrasing) And tell Ozmarina if she doesn't turn that crap off, you're gonna crank up some Fity Cent!

What am I wearing this month? BLACK! No pink for me!

I agree my my fellow BC sisters, don't take any crap and ask your cargivers as many questions as you want, no question is dumb either!

This morning I woke up to a post on Facebook with several dogs of different sizes, each with two pink balloons tied around its neck as if they were breasts. The caption said something like "Big or small, let's save them all!" Ugggggh. I wanted to ask if the poster if they would think it was ok if it was, say, testicular cancer awareness month--would it be ok to tie walnuts around the crotches of a bunch of dogs and say "save the nuts"?! Grrrrr! I think it also said something about tatas.

I replied and said I think it would be even better if we saved the PEOPLE. I am still annoyed (I know, I need to get over it, but that kind of thing really annoys me).

    Hi

This is my first post on this thread , I only just found it today and have read the first 10 pages already..

I must chime in with a corker.

Several days ago I was out having lunch with my best friend in a local pub. One of his friends spotted him and came to sit with us for a little catch up chat, and had a guy neither me nor my friend knew with him. A short convo updating my present cancer status, ending with me saying "hey, I'm still upright, this things not killing me anytime soon".

The friend of the friend, not missing a beat says "Oh it will. My uncle had colon cancer and died 5 months later. It gets everyone".

Stupid? Evil? Insensitive? Or just plain uneducated? I'm still too far in shock to decide.

Wambles, what an asshole...........Thinking things like dumping a class of brew in his lap. Or simply telling how stupid he was. I did do that with a gal that said we caused our cancers. I told her of a thread we have here called STFU. Which meant Shut the Fuck up, that we used with people that made inane comments. Believe it or not, I had to reteach it to her b/c she didn't get it the first time.

    Wambles,

that was a horrid thing for him to say. I'd have put him straight over the fact that cancer doesn't kill everyone it touches!
