Bored out my skull at the moment

Hole-in-one
We've had more rain in the last two years than the last twenty years. Last year was very heavy, but we were still considered to be in a drought b/c the acquifiers hadn't replenished. Haven't heard where the levels are now. LOL, higher no doubt. We in central Florida, depending on location have an advantage. The soil is so sandy the water seeps in very fast. A heavy water load can disappear in a short time. We have in Brevard county a separate agency called "Surface Water Management". They actively go out in storms to see where the problem drainage areas are, then they fix the drainage. Not in months, but sometimes you see crews out within a day or two. Brevard county does very well. Volusia county above us, doesn't seem to have as active departments i.e way more reported flooding.
OHhhhh have fun with lunch, we are all on our way!
Welcome LaRock,
We are here 24/7. Maddy, one the end of a pot of coffee, I could make more?
-
I'm near concession on DBF can do everything. He has the car running. He said he was going to take the car for a test drive. I asked him to check the ground for any pieces. His response was "What pieces?" Me " Any pieces not put back in?" Him "There's a few, I'll put them back in when I get back". Me "What kind of pieces?" Him "Brackets." Gone out the door..........
So, we aren't out of disaster range yet. Almost..... For those that pray, please, include a short prayer. I know in the space of all things, this is minor. Men are so stubborn.......... -
Hi, thanks for all the PM's
I've met my limit for the day
Happy thoughts. Maddy going to make a pot and when it's brewed I'll, ring you up

Ace, sorry you're bored. I lurk on the stitching thread. I love quilts and the skill. Saw you there. The only thing worse the a crafter without a project, is a thriftier driving by a thrift shop and can't stop

BTW SMARRTY YOOHOO, how's your trip in Detroit? Teaching and learning? Can you post pics of the things you've seen?
-
Thanks for all the warm welcomes! What a lovely group of kind souls.
Still no signs of slowing down so far today. I managed several calls this morning and just took the dog for a walk. Fortunately my afternoon schedule is light and I was able to get out of a work dinner in Mailbu. Somehow the thought of sitting for several hours watching colleagues drink & eat doesn't sound all that inviting when I'm still having trouble finding food that seems appealling.
I'm hoping for a crash at some point. Envious of all of you with rain. We sure could use some out here!
-
Okey- dokey. Stuck my head out the door. DBF standing at the engine looking at a piece. Me "Did test drive go okay" wondering why and how he got the wheel back on and off so quickly. Him "No, I can't get it out of park".... Oh Nellie! Honest I didn't say another word.
Maddy I so hope your home.................
-
ACE WHOHOOOOoo here's a link to Warm & Fuzzies thread. May be you can get a laugh or two..........https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/102/topic/818346?page=1

The west coast had been low normal rain. If we are still in draught conditions, I haven't noticed. But your side always gets more.
Make it go away
-
Oh hey! Welcome Rock! I'm temporarily in Orlando.... as in FLORIDA, and I'll tell you, I have never seen so much rain in all my years of seeing rain!Hah! I mean it almost came in DD's house! I thought her pool would run over! I am not used to this stress! Well maybe I am, but nothing to do with water! The rest of the Floridian family was out on the highway, and me and DH were here, wondering if we would survive this onslaught of water!
Now they are somewhat home, and pizza's will be coming!
Going home tomorrow, but I'm becoming used to this humidity.... It just feels so fresh! Soaked is another word for it I guess....
Thank you again miss Sass and Spookers! You two just made my trip! I'll treasure meeting you forever! Now just behave....

DH doesn't really want to come again next year, but oh well! Maybe just DD and I will make the trip to see DD #1! We'll see how things are going....
Okay kids! I'm going to go check out if it is still raining....
Oh! I forgot! We made a Walmart run today.... heh, heh! You guys just gotta LOVE that little tid-bit of news!
Talk to you probably Wednesday morning!
Come back soon Rock-star!
-
hi LARock! Sorry you have to be in this club, but glad to meet you. I have had insomnia since I was a kid, but being on steroids def made it worse. And i got seriously OCD. The only thing good about it was that my house was seriously clean and organized. (I could use some of that energy right now....)
Went into my GYN office today- thought I was just going to chat and maybe get some blood drawn... NOPE! endometrial biopsy. HOLY COW!! That hurt like a mofo. Still does. I am wiped out. And scared. I have a TVUS next monday and hopefully will have all the results by the middle of next week.

So glad the temps are cooling off here. I am ready for winter!
-
DANG JWow! Now we gotta get YOU fixed! WTH? Everyone is having issues! I'll fix you all some home-made chicken soup.... Not from the Chickens next door, but store-bought ones... I'll BBlater! -
JWOOOOOOOOOOooooo CHIt Okay TVUS---ultrasound of__________Okay ..transvaginal ultra sound. So glad I'm not on the learning side of medical lingo. With you.........Chevy, the humidity is good for the skin. Not good for hairdo's.
DBF did get the car to start and shift out of park. Drove off to Autozone to see if they could identify a part that he couldn't figure out where ...it..... should..... go
Before he left he said found something that had burnt that he, also, didn't know what it is. No idea when it burned etc. Haven't heard from him. Thanks Maddy for keeping me company
-
Thanks for the warm welcome all! If I have to be here, I couldn't imagine a better group of women to hang with.
JWoo, ouch!, I'll be praying for positive results.
I'm planning on taking some Tylenol PM tonight and hoping for a restful night. If not, I know where to come to have a chat!
-
JWoo - so sorry about the endometrial biopsy. Been thru lots of those in the olden days when I think they used Black and Decker tools instead of instruments.
And those TVUSs... I always felt like they shoulda bought me dinner before getting that far!!!!!!
Hope you get good news....
xoxo

Welcome, LARock!
Someone else new slipped in, have to go back and find out who it was.
Sassy, thank you for the call and keeping me company! Laughing, crying, sharing and everything in between. Didn't mean to monopolize the conversation, so thank you for listening! Hoping DBF gets his car fixed and figures out what the loose parts are for!
Jwoo, ouch! Only had a cervical bx almost 25 years ago, nearly passed out. Like Blessings said, they should have bought me dinner (or a dozen roses) for that little procedure. Numbing agent used? Don't think so.
Smaarty, thanks for your inspiration. Tried on a pair of jeans I haven't worn in a couple years, and by gosh, they fit! Made my day.
Ok, looks like it's been a long time since I posted. LOVE the picture of the ladies lunch last week! Pretty ladies that you are! Now I have more names and faces matched.
Dinner dishes are calling. I'd let them sit, but I'm afraid the bad cat is on the counter getting into mischief. The sweet is keeping me company:

Welcome la rocks
Sassy hope u ok
j sorry
-
Ok Owlettes. Just did a (quick) scan of the last 40 pages to see who's been new since mid-Aug. If my eyes didn't miss anyone, I have: Alive4Five, LARock, magdalene51, M0mmyof2, SummerSun, zjrosenthal. Did I miss anyone?
Welcome to the new ladies, and sorry if I missed anyone. Thinking of posting a Roll Call (list of "active" IT thread members - however, I haven't kept up to see who hasn't been posting since I did this last). Thoughts?
-
-
roll call sounds awesome!
-
I agree, we need a roll call
-
I'm here. Barely awake. Silly dog insisted I get up at 5 AM
-
it's 3:30 am here, still haven't slept. Sassy, I shouldn't have had that iced coffee this afternoon, not even tired.
Will try to post roll call later.
-
-
DBF came home from Autozone. They told him where the part went. It was the cover for the thing he fixed. Poor guy he had to take the whole thing apart AGAIN and put it back together.
-
2TA, have a GREAT lunch today, please get pics

-
Hi, ladies been away for awhile, hubby took me on a much appreciated, short cruise. Have not read back, hope everyone is well. It's 6 am here and I've been up for 3 hours. In pain, I think I hate Arimidex, anyone else taking it? Have a good day ladies, I am ready for a nap now, but have my grandsons here and have to get them ready for school so that will have to wait. Stephanie
-
Roll call! Great idea. I'm still here, but the past week has been pretty much lost in chemo haze. This was the worst yet. I'm just starting to feel human again... Well, maybe half human. Chevy, have a safe journey home. So glad you got to have lunch with the FL gals. Great pic of y'all.
Sassy, I feel for you with DBF. My BIL always fancied himself a handyman, but everything he touched eventually fell apart. I remember when he put up a ceiling fan with lights in their cathedral ceiling den and it crashed and self-destructed. But he never learned. Because, men.
-
Sassy, thanks for the great photo to start my day off on the right note.
Ok, this is the roll call I have. IF I'm missing someone or "also known by" name, please send me a PM. Just trying to do the best I can. I don't think I'll have time to go back and see when the last time Owlettes have posted, way too time consuming.
