Looking for some
Input good or bad about it? I am 59 years old, two weeks over double mast. Tumors 98 percent receptive to estrogen and progesterone.
Tissue enhances (vice grips) in place.
Thank you all in Advance....

I've been on Letrozole aka Femera since July, 2013 and have relatively few side effects. As my post yesterday mentioned I have been lucky enough to dance with NED since that time. My appetite is diminished which has resulted in some weight loss! no complaints there! but I do have an increase in belly fat. I get a monthly shot of Xgeva which I think results in achy bones in the morning but I too am 59 years old so it could also just be the normal aging process. I have hot flashes but they have reduced in strength and numbers over time, thankfully.
I hope you can tolerate Letrozole and that it works wonders for you too.

Tedi15, I was switched from Tamoxifen to Letrozole in May of this year due to a local regional recurrance. I am getting along just fine and have no complaints. Like AmyQ, my appetite has diminished and I've lost a few pounds. I am enrolled in the LiveStrong program at our local Y which has helped me regain upper body strength. I certainly feel better after exercising. I am also being infused every six months with a drug called Zometa and I've had no SEs from that either. I know exactly what you mean by vice grips! I had them in for almost a year before my DIEP. I could not wait for them to COME OUT. Best of luck to you!!!

Letrozole is the generic form of Femara. When I started Femara in Feb 2010, generic was not available but as soon as generic was available I went to it. No issues at all - never had any hot flashes but then I never had any hot fllashes when I went through natural menopause at 44.
We are,all so unique.

Tedi15, I've been on Letrozole since my hysterectomy in April 2009. At my annual check up in March (5th anniversary of the drug) my onc decided to keep me on it until studies show I shouldn't be - literally no side effects except for some envy from my post-menopausal friends with regard to low body fat which may be natural, or may be the lack of estrogen/progesterone. Hope it's as good to you!
