Teka- my guess is they will have them if she wants them. She is in her 30s and still pop some out. If she wants them, he will go along with it the way it is for most couples it seems. But then again, maybe not either. They might be good just being a power couple!

Onco- not sure I talked about the class a lot. It is a six week strategic planning course at the local university for my work. Unrelated to my personal training program. One thing is for my body and the other is for my brain.

    How are you doing Onco?

Hi everyone---just hanging around at 2am, damn fell asleep to early.

Congratulations Jazzy, I'm so glad u got what u wanted for work--U'll be happy working. And now u have a pet, I'd be freakin' out for sure.

Onco, my memory has not gotten any better, in fact it's getting worse with somethings and I hate that, but it is what it is.

They've announced so many new shows for TV and for some reason I'm missing all of them, they don't seem to be on yet.

Good morning hermits- on the way to see the gyn this morning for yearly check up. Lucky me! Easier of the visits I do these days though.

Lily- wow that is too bad. A job opp and then it disappears. Do you know what happened to the job?

Cami- hope you got some rest. We had t-storms here last night and I slept like a log.

Gotta run. Will check in later.

Good morning, Hermies. It's day 4 for me, of chemo round 5. Yesterday was the pits, I could barely drag myself around, and had to be presentable for my appointment with the RO. Once we got there, we waited for her for over an hour. But she was very nice, and thorough. I learned a few things, like there's a lymph node right behind my sternum that they think may be cancerous but they could not get to it during BMX because of its location, and that's where they're going to bed focused.they'll also go up into the neck. And I'm restaged, now IIIC not IIIA like I thought. She said she thinks I may be a good candidate for a proton therapy trial, they are just starting to do proton therapy on BC here though Harvard has been doing it successfully. Since my tumor was on the left side, it would be easier on my heart. She is going to present my case to the board but she thinks there's a good chance of acceptance. So I'll probably start rads first week of November or so.

    Just resting today. Still queasy.

    Mags,

I thought only had to worry about Lumpectomy with *clear margins* and Sentinel Node Biopsy with 2 nodes *cancer free*.

I got looking at a copy of the Surgical Pathology Report and read the following------------

Foci suspicious for lymphvascular invasion are present.

MO couldn't keep eye contact when I asked what the prior meant.   I had to ask.

Good morning ladies. All is well with the girlie dept, outside of the fact the anti-hormones take their toll on things.

Mags- that is not good news from your visit to the RO, but I figured they must be going after a lymph node somewhere with the rads since you had the BMX. And I am sorry about the re-staging too.

Proton therapy sounds like something that may help you. I am all into the cutting edge stuff myself. I don't know much about this type of therapy, but going to read up about it and hope you get accepted in the program.

You are having a rough week with the SE from the latest chemo and this news. Take it easy today and sending healing thoughts your way.

Teka- hopefully your chemo knocked out anything in your blood or lymph system. Your MO did not do a good job with you on that one.

Lili- I hope some new work comes to fruition for you soon. Getting back to work after treatment really helped me to move forward (never mind have an income which I need as a single person....) I never realized how much working stabilized my life until I don't have it.

Got some contract work to do today. TTYL!

Thought I was going to have a day of relaxing, ha! Had to make two appointments and then call my primary doc for a referral for one of the appointments. So here I sit waiting for the dummy's office to call back!

I figure that is why MO had me join a Clinical Trial with chemo and Avastin!

Teka- believe it or not, I am going to a wedding tomorrow, although not GC's (invitation got lost in the mail....) A friend/colleague of mine is marrying her long time live in BF and the wedding and reception are all at a hotel nearby (love that it is in one spot). It is late afternoon and bought a new dress to wear at one of the end of the summer sales in August.

Going on Sunday to a harvest festival with a pet parade. I know the hermits will be wanting pictures of the cute animals in all their regalia.

So it may not be Italy and I may not be on anyone's A-list, but I am going to have some good fun this weekend!

Have a good night everyone. Sweet dreams!

Mags sorry about all this crap u have to go thru--but I'm happy u have a wonderful support system at home.

Teka something sounds suspicious but u know I don't understand anything--just praying everything turns out good for u.

Jazzy OK we've been to weddings but never a pet parade---U've got lots of pics to take for us--I love the pet parade--sounds so cute.

I hope everyone has a decent weekend and I still have to nurse my computer, but when I can I'll pop in.

    Jazzy, enjoy the wedding!

Cami, back in 2010 with last BC treatment in March 2011, but I do understand why some thread members feel they're kept out of the loop.Winking

Cami- well I screwed up and the pet parade is actually today so we will miss that since we are going tomorrow. But there is supposed to be a donkey parade so who knows what we will see?

And newbees, I know I have said it before and will back up Teka on her comments. Don't be afraid to ask questions about your path report, treatment recommendations, or anything else you don't understand. If you don't feel you are getting enough info, get a second opinion. Know each specialist on your medical team will zero in on different things. Usually we all start out with the BS, but they only know some about the other types of treatments we have to go through. Their job is to get the tumor out however that needs to happen, and they usually help to assemble your other medical team.

My experience during my treatment was that the BS tried to speak about things that were not in her area of expertise (rads and anti-hormone meds), and I just pushed to get info on the rads from two different ROs and two different MOs on the anti-hormone therapy. I know she did not like it and even made a comment at one point that I was fighting her, but I said "I am not fighting you, you told me I would have a medical team and I am seeking their advice for the treatments in their area of expertise." I know she has had problems with other bc patients around this, as I had a long talk with my PCP about it who referred me to her. My PCP has been with me since I moved here (18  years) and she knows me the best, knows I know the healthcare system (work in it alot), and that I am not intimidated by doctors either. She made sure I had my MO for the longer term tracking of the arimidex,  SEs, bone health, etc.

Surgeon's always have huge egos, I have had a problem with every one of them I have ever dealt with. Your PCP can be a place to go in times of confusion to help with finding other docs for second opinions too. Also, never talk to a colleague of the person you questioning as they will only refer you to their colleagues and tell them to concur. I had that happen once around another issue too.

Now my BS and I are in a good place, I had the best visit with her yet during my last follow up. She knows I am going to make sure I have what I need to take care of me. She knows I am seeing the MO several times a year for the AIs and never has said a word about it that I went around her for that. Jazzy takes no prisoners.

I will also say when you are not feeling well as you go through treatment, it is hard to do this. For those of you with spouses and family nearby, just have them help you to be your advocate if you need one.

Wishing everyone a good day. Getting ready to go to personal training and it is cardio/core day which means I am going to have my butt kicked!
