Hi all ... good to see you Ducky ... Bippy and Mags, happy you both seem to be doing okay ... Jazzy, I like oatmeal too ... Teka, your recipe gave me ideas.
-
Just kicking back and relaxing now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Sally- have you tried steel cut (or otherwise known as irish oats?) Better for you than the processed quaker oats which have less protein. A CNP I worked with years ago told me this is the best kind to eat. I make mine with some raisins and cinnamon and then put a little milk or yogurt with it, along with whatever fruit I have (berries are the best). I don't like to eat them as much in the summer time, but love to eat the oats more as the weather cools.
Mommy- glad you are relaxing. I am working on finishing some delayed unpacking from the home reno project today. Few more things to finish up here in the kitchen and living room areas. I got most of it done in late August, but then sort of stopped putting things back before I was totally done (I was tired from the whole darned month of August!)
-
oatmeal with a bit of brown sugar sounds good for tommorrow morning!
-
Jazzy, I will give the steel cut oats a try. I have been using the 1-minute round container of Quaker.
-
Fall is here too.....summer coming this weekend, but horrible tomorrow......a hot chocolate with marshmallows day, and a nice warm throw............rain, rain, go away.............
-
Yep ducky bad day tomorrow.
Hate oatmeal , lol
Welcome mommy
Hey there peeps, sally, teka, jazzy all else I missed
Still having sleeping issues, whatever
-
Hermits- my class tonight was good and the first of the two instructors is quite the character. Funny as all get out and interesting educational background including business and divinity degrees. In addition to teaching strategic planning, he also has a focus on business ethics and human trafficking. We will have a different guy next week. It's going to be a good course.
Got a bunch of apts tomorrow, personal and for work. Hope everyone sleeps well, including dear blondie.....
-
Thanks jazzy have a good day tomorrow
-
The rain has returned to Oregon! We have had an unusually dry summer, but on Monday, the first day of Fall, our rain came back, and all the plants rejoiced! We lost a few plants that we had recently planted because I'm not diligent enough to go outside and water them all the time. Soon it will be time to put the garden to sleep for the winter, but still cranking out tons of tomatoes and tomatillos.
-
things not good at moment, life is one big row at home, never ending, every day he threatens to leave and i plead with him to do so......please
-
Lily,
wish I could be there to give you a big hug and some comfort.
-
lily, sorry about what is happening at home. Sending you positive thoughts!
Today the big D has appeared...i am on it with diet and immodium though, will not let it go. Bippy has a pap today, have had mild dysplasia for a few years on and off, had a leap procedure, we just watch it close. Do you think my chemo will kill off what's happening there? I think the dysplasia came to be because I had cancer unbeknownst in my breast, and my immune system could not keep up.
Saw a pal yesterday, she brought flowers and good vibes. Made it to goodwill and got a few puzzles to keep my brain working. I try to get out at least once a day, because even a hermit gets cabin fever!
-
Well today seems to be a good day for me to really be a hermit because rain is on the way. Will be a good day to curl up with a favorite book and just zen after housework.
-
Good Morning everyone--my computer is still in menopause and really b*tchy anyway it's good to see u all.
Welcome if I missed anyone---
Mags and Bippy u both sound pretty good and that's always good. And Mags that's so sweet praying with u'r DH. Bippy I'm glad u got u'r coffee back, it helps to feel better.
Jazzy II always wish u luck on a day to day basis so you work evenly and enjoy u'r life.
Lily I'm so sorry about u'r predicament at home on top of all else. All I can do is send u hugs and prayers.
Teka Yummy, I like that kind of warm comfort food and chocolate cake too.
Ducky summer is officially over--did u close up u'r home?
It looks like rain today, but I don't know for sure---I was supposed to see my Onc this week but got my days all screwed up so we made it for next week. Oy Vey This happens all the time, I don't know why, it's my fault, there must be a hidden button inside saying don't go.
-
Gah, I could use another cup of coffee, but if I do make one I will be so wired. What to do?
-
Cam....yes we closed it Labor Day.........House, pool, the whole works...........was a short summer and was not down much at all.....I wonder sometimes why I bother keeping it............
Horrible day today.....rain, wind, chilly, like most of the east coast.........I hope the clown who killed our State Trooper is soaked, and freezing his ass off...........
Everyone have a good day.......if you have sun....its a good day.......
-
Cami- I am creating a new paradigm for myself and the personal training is helping me to put myself first for perhaps the first time in my life. Making sure I am taking care of my wellness first, and then will fit the work in. A new way of working and being.
Bippy- when our immune system gets compromised, other things show up too. I am pretty convinced that is what happened with my ruptured appendix that happened as the same time as the diagnosis. Your appendix is part of your immune system, which I did not know until that happened. Hopefully the chemo will knock anything you have got.
Mommyof2- how about half decaf and have regular in your next pot?
Lily- I am sorry your husband is not more supportive of your needs. Hugs sister.
Off to a business meeting. Hope you guys have a good day.
-
cured my coffee need with a k-cup of hot apple cider instead. Love my single serve coffeemaker!
-
Mommy......I hink I bought the first one aftter seeing it...........I love it, love it, have 2....one in my vacation home and one here in Pa.............I buy all the great coffee's............love the flavored ones, but do my regular in the morning........have turned all my kids and grandkids onto it too.......LOL
I always watch for the best sales.....I actully have my price down to .45 cents a cup............LOL......if you like flavors ask me.......I know most of them..........love the vanilla.........and you have to try kaluha, and mudslide........yum...........have had the apple cider..........double yummy........
-
Me too. My local grocery store had a sale last week on their brand of the k-cups and we stocked up to get us into October and hopefully closer to November!
-
I just got a box of 80 Green Mountain Breakfast Blend from BJ's......delivered right to the door no shipping either......they have the best prices.........the and Bed, Bath, and Beyond......
The local Shoprite runs a great sale every couple weeks..........but still no one beats BJ's......you just can't get all the choices........My daughter belongs to a coffee club, and they have every brand know to man, and very reasonable too..........
-
Jazzy is going back to work. Target date is 10/6/14. PT (30 hours a week) through mid December. What I wanted!
Oh the joys of living in the southwest. I went out to the car to get my notebook to write up a summary for the contracting arrangement from the meeting today and as I came to the front door (which I left open just for 30 seconds) a gecko slithered up the front porch and into the entry way. Then on to a sandal. I tried to coax him out but he disappeared and is now somewhere in the house. I guess I have a pet gecko now......
-
That is great Jazzy!

I am done done taping and painting the white kitchen walls.
I've
decided to tape and paint the accent kitchen wall in January
2015. Looking forward to choosing a different color paint.
;o)Still have more kitchen clean-up for Thanksgiving!
-
Teka- sounds like good progress with the painting. Sounds like you may be cooking dinner too for Thanksgiving?
And I don't know how to tell you this, but your boyfriend GC is about to get married.....
-
Jazzy has a pet
-
Looking forward to seeing wedding photos!
-
Teka- going to be a gorgeous wedding with two very pretty people! The babies will be gorgeous too! I somehow think GC is going to enjoy being married and having a family.
